Since ownership change, Golden City is either REALLY good or a bit bland, depending on who's in the kitchen. But with the dearth of good Santa Cruz Chinese restaurants, a decent choice.
I love Golden China. Their food is fresh, hot and tastes out of this world.. and they have never let me down. Ive been going here fot over 20 years. They are generous with their portion size. I always have enough left over to have another meal, the following day. Keep up the good work, and a big thank you. If you love chinese food, come to Golden China. You wont be dissapointed. I will be going there tomorrow and its all your fault. Lol

Got the Mongolian beef lunch special, I was able to substitute the soup with a little bit extra rice, so hell yeah (I don't like soups much)! The beef was very tinder and good tasting, with a good amount of vegetables without overdoing it. The portion size was pretty decent and worth it. The only things I would change would be the decorations on the windows (so customers can see outside better), and the bathrooms were a tad dilapidated.
