“My wife and I were first timers at the Range, recently moving to SLO. We were seated immediately upon arriving by the friendly hostess. Our server was also very friendly and helpful. We started with a portion of white anchovies with a very nice sauce that went well with the anchovies. I had the French onion soup that was served hot the way soup should be. The soup was very good, maybe not the best I've ever had, but very good. For our mains, my wife had sand dabs, one of the specials, and I had elk medallions. Both dishes were prepared perfectly. Accompanying the main course were vegetables and potatoes that were bland and fairly tasteless. They have a nice wine selection of mainly local wines with a variety of prices. Overall, we had a good experience but left feeling the food was not quite worth the price.”
“We stopped by on a Saturday evening to see live music by Rob and Denise. The Porch was really nice inside and food and service were excellent. They have burgers, salads, and sandwiches and a unique selection of bar bites. They also had a good selection of local beers, wines, seltzers, and Kombucha (not a full bar). Live music every Saturday from 5:30p - 7:30p. We will be back again!”
“Basically you want to try everything in the shop! Everything looks sooooo pretty and delicious. I am glad that they have mini size cupcake, perfect for a guilt-free one bite indulgence. Macarons are not too sweetly, crunchy crust and chewy inside, simply delish!”
“We loved this place so so much! Fantastic food, atmosphere, delicious margaritas and live music! Just what we needed after a 40+ mile Spartan race weekend and the staff did so wonderful dealing with all the extra people in town. Will come back any time we’re back to Santa Margarita! :)”
“I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant, last night, and my wife and I are still beaming about our experienceThe staff were friendly and our waiter was interested in creating a memorable experience for us, which was evident by his patience and care throughout the nightI’ll attempt to make this post as simple as possible and state that I ordered the duck and my wife ordered the chicken, we split a side order or Brussel sprouts, that were beyond tastyEverything mentioned was perfect and wonderfully flavored! There were a couple of drinks consumed as well and you can decide what tickles your fancyPeople often speak price and we didn’t leave feeling cheated, at all! I actually plan on making a trip to the restaurant once a quarterThe restaurant is a vibe and you can walk next door to the Hotel San Luis Obispo for extended nightlife music and drinks?Kid-friendliness: It’s a vibe, top to bottom everyone was professional and friendly (they even took my umbrella and stored it away for me)”
“First time I visited it and ordered a roast beef in a wheat roll sandwich...just awesome!. Dining in is quite difficult...recommend take outs. Prices are reasonable....great service. Do not miss it while in San Luis ObispoParking: Parking is not an attractive feature...but not very difficult to find.”
“One of the best places on the Central Coast. This hidden gem is on the 41, between Downtown Atown and Morro Bay. This renovated garage/barn turn modern ranch chic is the home to a fresh/natural/modern culinary experience. Once you enter you are greeted and have menu's on a little table at the door. When you're ready, you go up and order. I ordered the Rock Burger (Beyond Meat and no Bacon), comes with fries, the Bahn Mi Tots and Beer Battered Onion Rings. The Rock Burger is what you want. Beautiful fluffy Brioche bun from Back Porch Bakery, Central coast creamery blue cheese bringing the funk/creamy/saltness to cut through the burger, the caramelized onions for sweetness, the fresh mixed greens for that earthy bite, and whole grain mustard sauce for a little more acidity. The fries are done to salty, crispy, yet soft inside perfection. The Beer battered onion rings are served the a beautiful house made ranch and bbq sauce. Cooked perfect, just wish there was more. And the Star of the show, Bahn Mi Tots. The mix of tots, fresh vegetables, creamy sauce, soft meets crunch, vinegar balanced by fatty creaminess of the sauce, gives you full Umami! Just an awesome concept, that works to the fullest! The power went out while we were there with our friends from out of town and instead of kicking us out, they brought over candles (which was made by someone dinning in at the time) and asked if we needed anything. This is truly a first class operation and am honored to say they are in my own backyard. We've introduced many to them and we'll introduce many more.*What happened to the CHEESE CURDS?*”
“Enjoyed this sweet little spot more than I anticipated. Enjoyed a Cinnamon brown sugar coffee, house specialty, and it was incredibly flavorful; I'm going to try to replicate it at home; such a great twist on my usual drip coffee. Staff was very friendly & hospitable and brought the drink to the table which I appreciate - few spots do that these days. Music was lovely and in the background, not too loud, and had a sweet Latino flair to match the cafe. Sat in a light-filled window seat and started my day perfectly. I didn't order breakfast but they had a beautiful little menu with a lot of hot selections which seemed very substantial - breakfast tortas, quesadillas and burritos.”
“Great atmosphere and filled with people who enjoy their unique menu of ciders. Need to try their base (dry) in a flight along with other flavors that are based on this.Really enjoyed the unfiltered dry, and think my favorite flavored version was the cranberry.Vegetarian options: It's cider ?”
“Mushroom Burger (Impossible), tator tots, avacado egg rolls. Sauce with the egg rolls, on point! Very yummy! Service was awesome! Take out. Definitely will stop again. ?”
“Nate's is a great place to celebrate a special occasion! But it's also just a nice place for a drink. Professional servers, great food, many original and classic cocktails. Plus, they have a good happy hour -- $10 select cocktails until 6pm (not sure when it starts).”
“The ambiance was very eclectic ,my daughter took me here for a birthday brunch and the service was good and the food was delicious .We were so comfy with the different places to sit here and also the the cool things to look at everywhere and our server was so friendly”
“Enjoyed a vanilla bean latte here and my husband tried the iced coffee and scone. Everything tasted great and there was plenty of space to sit and get some work done. :)”
“This little hidden gem provides an intimate and welcoming ambiance for wine lovers and foodies as Region also partners with Hotel SLO's restaurant, Piadina. Highly recommend if you are wanting the perfect night out with wine and great food!”
“This is the kind of place you want to come and just hang out at for hours. They have a wide variety of ciders and meads to try. I opted for the $3 tasters this visit and was not disappointed. Had the chance to try many different creations and find what suited my taste the best. The bartender (did not catch his name) was very friendly and totally encouraged my tasting of as many as I liked. There was the cutest dog roaming around and sunbathing in the front window. Made the place feel cozy. Large patio out back to enjoy our beautiful Atascadero weather.”
“One of the coolest bars I’ve been to. Amazing vibes all around, fast and friendly customer service. Lots of free games, chess, board games and more. Also the pool table is free, and in great condition. The bartender plays vinyl, which was a nice surprise. The decor is amazing! Best yet, they have a great drink selection.”
“Dark Nectar is the bomb! Prepare to be CAFFEINATED!My husband and I, being relatively new to Atascadero, have stopped in here a handful of times and we really love it. The coffee here is strong, the service fast and friendly, and the graffiti art all over the interior walls is really cool. If you are looking for an eclectic coffee house with its own style, this is the place for you. Tyler roasts and grinds his own beans, which makes for an extra special experience. Fair warning: If you are a lightweight when it comes to caffeine, make sure to talk to the barista about it when you order. I had a mocha last visit that was amazingly delicious but it launched me into a caffeinated low-earth orbit. Next time I will order a half decaf, LOL!Great place, superb atmosphere, definitely will be back!”
“We were visiting the area and I wanted a snack. Not just any snack, fries. Not just Mcfries. Serios fries. Good fries. I asked Google for fries and it offered me up Fried and Loaded. Fried and Loaded DELIVERED. Everything I could have hoped for and, and, and my husband was able to get the chocolate peanut butter shake he wanted.I got fries loaded with bacon and cheese - delish. You will not go wrong here, do not waste your time on some awful chain drive thru with wimpy fries. These are the Real Deal.Shop local and support a small business.Parking: Plenty of space out front, small strip mall”
“As a very picky person, I can safely say the food is authentic and cooked with love and integrity. Susy is a fantastic person, strong in faith and very hospitable. If you're driving by, I highly recommend this place; you will feel right at home. My family had tacos, tortas, and quesadillas, and they were all delicious.”
“This little coffee shop is absolutely amazing. My wife and even my kids drive from Tulare, CA just to stop and say hi and grab a coffee (the blended Chai is our favorite) my wife and kids used to stop every day when they lived here and even now we make the drive for some. It's worth the short stop if you're passing through for some of the best coffee and friendliest service you will ever receive.”
“The baked goods are amazing. The muffins are all recommendable and as an almond lover - the almond marzipan mini pie is phenomenal. The folks working were quick to greet me and were warm and friendly. I don’t know how I just discovered this spot but it will definitely be my new breakfast place.”
“If you like supporting local businesses, you must try COYA. Authentic Peruvian food located inside the “Sidewalk Deli” and it was so good. It was my first time and the woman running the joint was kind and helped me choose which dish to go with. I didn’t even take a picture of the food I got before I practically cleaned the plate in 10 minutes. I work down the street and will definitely be coming here more often.”
“Service and taste of food was excellent! Value when it came to the salad price fell short. $15.00 for a Cesar salad that only filled half the small bowl, to say this a shareable salad is a joke!! Add more lettuce!!! For the salad to be $15 and a big pizza be $20-25 just doesn't make sense. Food was excellent. Bit noisy as well but fun atmosphere.”
“Novo made my partner and I's two year anniversary feel special even though the weather was so bad. We didn't special request anything, we just put in our reservation that we were there for an anniversary, and they went above and beyond. Our waitress, I do not remember her name, was extremely friendly and helpful. She checked in on us frequently enough that we didn't feel forgotten about, but infrequently enough that we didn't feel put upon. It was a busy night and, with the rain, everyone was sat in their downstairs dining room. I'm amazed no one dropped anything going up and down those stairs! Big thank you to the staff at Novo for making our night memorable!”
“We absolutely love this hidden gem in SLO! It is tucked away on Monterey Street... and while the inside dining area is quaint and small, the back covered patio area has excellent vibes and greenery for a romantic and delightful ambiance. The food is incredible! Pastas are freshly made and service was excellent. We quite prefer this gem to larger, more popular Italian restaurants in SLO.”
“Great beer and food that reminded us of hanging out at Gasthause in Germany during our trips there. I also appreciated that the mostly closed-in/covered patio was warm and dry during this heavy rain season, but was still dog friendly (as any authentic Biergarten would be).”
“If I could give more stars, I would!! Compliments to the chef and team, our burgers were fire! The patties were cooked perfectly :) The staff was super friendly and I loved the vibe. Thank you guys, see you soon!”
“One of my favorite places to grab a quick dinner. Food comes out super fast, and is decently priced for being in downtown SLO. Great beer selection and lots of TVs. They've got a pretty solid happy hour 3-5. Love this ”
“Really nice space, some of the best Mexican food I ever had. My wife had the birria taco platter which was to die for, and I had a carne asada burrito that was just SO far beyond your average one. Would recommend this place to anyone.”
“Our first time here tasting. Also enjoyed the food offering for lunch. Had the French onion soup -was delicious! Savanna was our host and did a great job of providing information on both the wines and food. Parking lot was a little tight”
