“The staff was very knowledgeable and the food was great. The restaurant is a little small but I feel that's why the food was great. I got the Mar y Tierra fajitas and they were on point. The beef was well seasoned and tender and the shrimp had great flavor. I recommend this place.“
“Hole in the wall place. TWO things that stand out, there chips and salsa AND their service! There salsa isn't spicy, but packs a lot of flavor! I could the chips and salsa all day long! Ended up getting a CA burrito, little different than what I've had in the past, but would definitely come here again!“
“Every time that I go to the natural café, the service is fast, the food delicious, and the ambience, relaxing. I have gone twice by now and will be going again for lunch with my daughter! Last night I wanted something light for dinner and chose the veggie chili which comes with cornbread and I was curious about the so I tried a slice of coconut cake. I must say that there are different approaches that I've noticed we with vegan desserts based on who makes it. Sometimes they could be too sweet for my taste, but this time it was right on the money.“
“The food is delicious! Prices are high! Waitress and hostess are very rude, they even stand in the kitchen and talk about you. Ambiance is nice. They don't listen to your order and something is usually incorrect whether it be food or drinks. They try not to smile? Customers are a bother.“
“The last time I was here, it was called Connie's Restaurant. Right at the start finding the service is really great here, the server gave us advice on what to buy. Then we had another young lady come up to us and greet us just with pleasantries and wished me a happy birthday and when leaving again thanked and wished me a happy birthday. I got to say the menudo is probably the best menudo in town. I use to frown on too much meat and not enough hominy and not as good as my sister's menudo, and I've tried most of the Mexican restaurants here in town and gave up and now just buy a can of Juanita's Menudo and a can of pato sauce. I was first skeptical because this menudo didn't come with hominy, but after putting g in the onions, cilantro and lemon I can again say this is the best menudo in town. The meat was tender and onions sweet. This is where I'm getting my menudo in the future, I may have to buy a can of hominy if they don't include it. There was 5 of us and we couldn't finish the Plato Mexicano, we needed 3 take out containers. If you haven't been here you need to check it out.“
“This place never fails! This restaurant has a classic diner atmosphere right off the 101 freeway. Great location to stop if traveling through town. Everything on the menu I have tried is good! Great variety on the menu that definitely has something for everyone. Breakfeast, lunch and dinner is all great!. The service is amazing, everyone on the wait staff is nice and attentive and have the best service. Cant go wrong with any of them. Extra shout out to waitress Letty who is always so nice and pleasant and provides great customer service every time! People like this make you want to come back!“
“Fish bowl margaritas must try.all good drinks mixed or not. Bar area. Dining area. Food is good . Little neutral on flavor. But add salt for to meet you taste. Wam bam. Thank you for a good time and see you soon.Parking: Airport parking not bad.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly. Parents... be Parents. Not a daycare. Watch your own. There busy. Feeding your bellyWheelchair accessibility: Roll in hungry roll out stuffed like a turkey on Thanksgiving day.“
“Corona has it going on for unique takes on tacos, and El Rey is worth seeking out. In a recessed mini plaza off 6th Street in the old town, my recommendation is to go before the lunch rush. I dined in both times I visited, and the quality of the food and sides is amazing. Grilled cactus and onions, salsa choices ranging from medium to quite hot, and a wide range of side veggies. It's definitely a popular place, and the steady flow of people is testimony to their quality. They were grilling a bunch of chicken the first time, and it got smoky inside until someone opened a door. My house special burrito had both carne asada and al pastor inside, and everything was perfectly cooked and assembled. I blended two salsas and loved it all. My second visit a week later was equally enjoyable and slightly more expansive. I'd like to try something from the mariscos menu in the future. Until then, go here and try a new take on old favorites.“
“I'm so glad i stop in this food spot.Just by chance i saw it walking by.I tried thier lunch special and it was delicious, yummy, under $5.Two tacos with papitas, chips & salsa. I will definitely come in again next time I'll sit in the restaurant, I sat outside in the Shaded patio with my service dog and we enjoyed every minute of it I strongly recommend it.“
“Amazing authentic Mexican food! It’s my first being out here in simi Valley and heard about this place. Quesabirria tacos are the bomb!! It’s hard to find a place that has really good ones. And the churros!!!!! Ughh !! Amazing!!!! Definitely coming back!“
“The food and service are both reasons to go here. Family owned, genuine hospitality and fantastic food. Very unassuming, casual, come as you are vibe. This was one of the first places I went to when I first moved to the area and I will forever be a frequent patron.“
“Had a great time here. This is a location on the Santa Maria wine trolley and I think it's best kept as your last or first location to visit. If you want good food before you go out drinking the tacos are very nice. If you want to get food after you visit the other wineries there are other options here that are a bit more filling. Overall it's set up is very nice to look at and very relaxing, especially the outdoor seating area. The folks working here were class acts and were very kind and attentive.Parking: The part of the parking lot I saw was not very large so I think they're used to getting people coming from elsewhere or there may be additional parking in the back that I didn't see.“
“Angeles de Puebla is an amazing local gem nestled in Santa Maria. With Mexican food to die for, it's a culinary paradise for anyone craving authentic flavors. Their Carne Asada is an absolute standout, perfectly grilled and bursting with flavor. From the warm ambiance to the friendly service, every visit feels like a celebration of Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend for anyone looking to indulge in a true taste of Mexico!“
“Taco Man Express catered our party for 130 people, and they did an amazing job. They were prompt, courteous, and most importantly the tacos were incredibly good. Numerous guest said these were the best tacos they ever had! I am very pleased with their service and highly recommend them. The price was excellent, too- lower than other comparable taco caterers.“
“Delicious! I had the Mango Caliente sushi roll and OMG it didn't disappoint. My husband had the Mojarra Frita platillo and he really enjoyed it. I think we found our new sushi/mariscos place. The customer service was just as great as their food.“
“Their lengua tacos are amazing and their grilled onions are on another level. Recommended by a friend, but not sure why there aren't more reviews since this spot was rather busy when I went with a group. Also appreciate their honesty in regards to charging me for a platter instead of 10 tacos individually. Will be back again next time I'm in the area.“
“First I have to say we came for the fahitas for my wife, on that note I got chile rellenos, the food was great, with one problem they dint d vain the chiles or remove seeds rlthats why I can't give them a 5. My wife was happy with fahitas. I would recommend the food. If you don't like seeds mite, think twice about Chile rellenos.“
“Best sandwiches (tortas) I've had in CA so far. The blend of flavor was superb, the texture of the sandwich was amazing, the freshness of the ingredients was incredible. This is such an underrated gem in Santa Maria but everyone should give them a try. Sooooo good!!“
“Excellent! Stopped by here for a quick beer, and some flautas de pollo(rolled chicken tacos) and this place did not disappoint! I will head back and try their tacos. They also have burritos, tostadas, shrimp cocktail, AND a kids menu so bring your kiddos. Ice cold bottled beer and sodas. Give them a try...well worth it!Fast forward 24 hours and I came back!..This time I paired the chicken flautas with a Victoria beer and then, dove deep into their crunchy tripitas tacos and bistek tacos. These are street style and the tacos are stuffed with enough portions the dual corn tortilla serving enough for 2 tacos!!! Growing up in deep south Texas on rice and beans, I could dine on these delicious tacos without my rice and beans as a side! Come by(they close at 930pm weeknights) and fill up on their wonderful eats!!!!!“
“This is my first choice after work restaurant ?prices reasonable great friendly service restrooms are clean service with a smile. Some folks might experience difficulties if they don’t speak Spanish. You know you’re at an authentic Mexican restaurant when the cook can’t speak English.Spanish is a European language just like English“
“The server had his name is Cesar he is amazing, he has great customer service skills very friendly, social and above all he knows his drinks I would definitely recommend this place and if you can ask for him he gives the best customer service . The food was amazing, delicious and at a great price.“
“I found it!!! Santa Maria is full of Mexican fast food places. I live in five cities and any time I'm in Santa Maria and hungry I Yelp a new Mexican food place I have yet to try. Most are good, 3.5 - 4 star. This place is a real hole in the wall in the good way. It's nestled in the back of a little meat/market. Walk in place your order in back, because of COVID and because the place is do small they had me wait outside. When my order was ready they called my name on the loud speaker. Picked up food in back and paid up front. Now for the food. I ordered 3 burritos because I couldn't decide what to get. 1-Asada 1-Chili Verda 1-Carnitas. All of them were really good. I asked for guacamole on the Asada one but they told me they just put sliced avocado...nice! The Verda was so good tender little spicy. The best of all was the Carnitas, I did have a big piece of bone in it but I can see past that because that happens to me when I cook. The Caritas was juicy-greasy full of flavor. This place is just a take and go place, if that's what your looking for "I found it!!" Give it a try!!“
“??Honestly the carne asada, tortillas, rice, beans AND salsa are the Cure to depression -as well as a seemingly instantaneous transportation to ✨San Diego✨ where no food coast to coast has come close to feeling like home. I moved away from all my favorite spots in my hometown 8 years ago. I hadn't realized until today that I have indeed been depressed since then. ? ?? ?Enrich your life-taste this food! Not to be dramatic; but I'm contemplating whether or not going to the grocery store is even essential anymore??... like, I could probably buy a party pack and just meal prep for the week.“
“My husband and I moved to Santa Maria a little over 2 years ago. Since then we have looking for our "go to" for Mexican food. A co-worker, that has lived in SM her whole life, recommended going to El Herradero for lunch one day. It was by far the best Mexican food I had since we moved to SM! I liked it so much I took my husband there for dinner the next day. Now it's his favorite as well. We have taken several friends that were visiting from out of town and they have told us it's a must when they come visit. Love the chips and salsa! Chips are always warm and fresh. Salsa has a nice kick. We have tried many different dishes and have never been disappointed.“
“Best Tri Tip in town off the char-broiler. The Chicken is absolutely delicious That seasoning a taste of Santa Maria style BBQ. Guaranteed authentic Santa Maria style BBQ taste Call ahead if it was under construction last few days weeks went 02/10/2024. Overall satisfying (90sbaby) till'“
“My choice pick for Mexican food in Santa Maria. I highly recommend the Fajitas plate(Either Steak, Chicken, or Combo) as these are simply fantastic. I did enjoy the Ceviche and I myself, are not the biggest fan of the dish itself; however the one done here is refreshing and great before consummation of the main dish that you order! Other things I enjoyed were the tacos(classic staple, right), specifically the asada and pastor are the go-to tacos that I've tried.“
