Sam's For Play Cafe is a quaint and reasonable priced eatery. We found the food excellent. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. We will be eating there when we are in the area.

I don't live in Santa Rosa any more, I haven't in ~20 years but I grew up there and EVERYONE knows Sam's! I was in town for the holidays and went there for lunch with a friend. The menu is enormous and while I was tempted by the all day breakfast, I landed on a French Dip sandwich that I had been craving. If you are anywhere in the area, stop by, you'll be glad you did!Kid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant - be sure to check out the staff's name tags! Reminded me of my first job working at Camp Wa-Tam. ;-)

Went here for breakfast and was not disappointed. Food was excellent, service friendly and attentive. What a great little hidden gem of a restaurant. Will be back every time we visit Santa Rosa.

This fuckin garbage ass place man. $70 for some shitty food, will definitely not be back, it boggles my mind to see this place crowded often.. I'm dumbfounded. the corn beef hash was watery and bland as fuck and the biscuits and gravy tasted like microwaved plastic. this is the first place i been to that serves their mimosas on ice, what da fawk man?!

The staff is very friendly, the service is always good. The food is over priced and mediocre. Eggs Benedict is bland, the Canadian bacon is so cheap it's like plastic . There potatoes are tasty , not crispy , and Luke warm at best. Omelets are lacking flavor and very boring . Toast is not hot and they use margarine which has a foul taste. Not a great value but always busy and I think it's because nothing else nearby to service the breakfast and lunch in the area unless you want Mexican food. Don't mind higher prices but would really like something amazing. Don't think it exists in the area

Just has breakfast here this morning - I'd been to the other location but this was my first time here. It's a cozy spot, no frills. Everyone was super friendly, attentive, and welcoming - honestly that's the reason for the review. The staff is top notch. The food is always good and comes fast. Get the chicken fried steak!

Found this little cozy cafe for breakfast. Got an old school, diner feel, lots of posters, nicks n knacks, momentos on the walls and just give you days gone by vibes. Huge breakfast menu from combos to omelette to any sides you could possible want. For lunch, they also serve burgers, sandwiches, salads and soups. The service was beyond friendly! Greeted immediately when we walked in, seated quickly and got drinks out. Ordered the griddle combo with buttermilk pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. I also got the Popeyes choice omelette which comes with potatoes and toast. Fresh squeeze OJ. Still got a bit of leftover for lunch. Large portions. Love Sams and wouldn't change a thing about this spot. Keep it up!

Incredibly good food. Small town diner feel with big city flavors. Service was pretty good, could be more attentive. But a Great place to eat nonetheless!

Love this place. Classic, simple local diner. Solid food at a very fair price. Doesn't feel like you're being ripped off for what you get. Super friendly, consistent staff. You see the same faces every time you go. I love when diners have a lunch counter. I come here for lunch whenever I work nearby and I've never had a bad experience.

This is just a really great place. I have enjoyed every single thing that I have tried here. The service is always great, too. Prompt and attentive, very fun, positive people working here. It's just a great place to be. Their homemade salsa is some of the most flavorful and delicious salsa I've ever had, but it is hotter than hell, so be careful! Their milkshakes are incredible. Like, legit milkshakes.Vegetarian options: I think they have some vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: I'm sure some accommodations can be made.Parking: Parking can be a little tricky on Saturday and Sunday mornings. You can always find parking nearby though.Kid-friendliness: This is definitely a kid-friendly family restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible. Not sure about the restrooms though.
