“A small charming restaurant just off the Sonoma square, this lived up to the hype of being on the Michelin list.Upon entering, check out the chalkboard specials - we ended up ordering three dishes from it.Everything was amazing - fresh ingredients, bold flavors. Particular favorite was the scallop, salmon, and uni starter served with daikon radish and micro greens in a light ponzu sauce. The vegetarian risotto was one of the best I’ve tasted, and I almost always order risotto if it’s on the menu. It was the perfect texture, and I would describe it as fresh tasting. Our server recommended the yuzu cheesecake, and it did not disappoint. In hindsight, we should have ordered two.“

“I went to El Dorado for my birthday dinner with my friends We did wine tasting at WALT only 1 min walking distance from El Dorado and we really liked this course. Wine tasting and dinner at nice restaurant was such a good choice! Inside of the restaurant is very spacious and cozy. Only one thing, the grilled salmon which we ordered along with risotto didn't come out at the first time, the our server realized and brought to our table later. Except that, the food was very tasty and we really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. I'm the person who especially love the Sonoma vibe and the restaurant definitely made me feel I'm in the nice and cozy town.“

“Listen up, you Bay Area burger hounds. I've chased down dry, overpriced patties from Marin to Menlo Park, and let me tell you, disappointment is a well I know well. But then I stumbled onto Oso Sonoma in the heart of Sonoma Plaza. Now, this ain't some white tablecloth, pretentious gastropub. This is where the locals go, the kind of dive with chipped floorboards and a healthy skepticism towards kale. And that's precisely where they get their damn burgers right. They keep it simple: locally-sourced beef, cooked to a juicy, just-pink perfection. No frills, just flavor. The cheese, you can pick your poison – cheddar, fontina, or this truffle jack that'll knock your socks off (assuming you haven't sweated them right off in the Sonoma heat). The bun? Toasted just enough to hold this meaty masterpiece without turning into a soggy mess. But here's the kicker: the secret sauce. This ain't some mass-produced mystery goo. This is a flavor bomb that whispers of tangy pickles, smoky paprika, and something herbal I couldn't quite place. It elevates the whole damn burger to a symphony of savory goodness. Now, service ain't usually what gets me waxing poetic, but the crew at Oso Sonoma deserves a shoutout. They're friendly, efficient, and know exactly when to refill your beer without hovering like a tourist lost in Napa Valley. So, the next time you're craving a burger that's more than just a glorified Happy Meal, head to Oso Sonoma. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, the best things come in the most unassuming packages. Just don't expect a fancy Instagram backdrop – this is a burger joint for people who appreciate good food, not good filters.“

Kivelstadt Cellars & WineGarden American • $$

“Kivelstadt was the highlight of our wine country trip. This is a hidden gem with unique, interesting, well-made wines and delicious seasonal farm to table bites from the attached restaurant. Tori who lead our tasting was very knowledgeable about the wines but also geeked out with us about all the birds visiting the feeders nearby. The vibe is very much like hanging out in the back yard with your friends, except your friends also happen to make really good wine and really good food (but like, they're super low key about both). Kivelstadt had been on my list for years but I had never gotten around to it because it's a little out of the way; Turns out it's absolutely worth making the time for.“

“Far and away my favorite lunch spot! Not only is the staff phenomenal, they are mindful of the dietary restrictions of each guest AND attentive. The food is amazing and gluten free friendly! I can't remember the last time I had a hamburger and fries as a Gluten Free eater! I have missed this and was shocked they offered both GF buns and made their fries in separate oil allowing them to be GF. I have spent my last two birthdays there since I love it SO much and d I will always go back. The owners, the staff and the food is fantastic. One last tip, do yourself a favor and order the Brussel Sprout appetizer and WHATEVER season soup they offer.....DELICIOUS!“

“Food was so delicious!! We had their special Western Fried Chicken Sandwich. Flavor was on point and chicken was juicy and didn't have to much breading. Also got a coffee shake the flavor was great but I was hoping for more of a thick shake. Staff was super friendly and we got our food fairly quickly since they were very busy. We are so glad we finally stopped by but sad it was their last day opened. Prices are reasonable for the price of food these days.“

“Omg the stuffed artichoke and fish tacos here are Devine. We came when it was very busy but managed to get a seat quickly. We stopped at the bar first and were able to get some drinks from an awesome and quick bar tender. Our party visited 3 times in our 4 day vacation to Sonoma so you could say we liked it. The bathrooms are very nice and clean and it wasn’t a super far walk from the square if you are hoping to avoid an Uber.Vegetarian options: The artichoke is to die for. They have an excellent menu.Parking: There is a lot of different kinds of parking around. Even though the place was packed there was lots of street parking around. I believe lots of people walk.“
