I will take into consideration that things might not go as planned during civid. It's crazy isn't it! Anyway, a friend of mine brought me a great salad from this place, which I was so excited about because the reviews were so good, and produce and everything, but I think there was a bug in the salad! I didn't mind, because I just figured extra protein, but for the more squeamish out there...
I love this restaurant place ❤️
This place is amazing! This place is a hidden gem! My husband and i were driving going south to 101 and saw a bright orange sign that caught our eye. Its located in SSF produce warehouses. Who knew? Roger the owner was very nice and funny. He was very attentive. Ordered the huevos rancheros and my husband ordered the chilaquiles. DELICIOUS AND FULFILLING! Prices are reasonable. There is also a taco truck, will try their food on our next visit.
You need to enter the produce alley in order to get to this gem. Very hearty portions and staff was very helpful. I used a groupon for my visit.
One of the best burgers I've ever had. What a great experience and fantastic service
I read so much about the Produce Alley. That I had to check it myself. It’s a little hard to find. I was the only customer in the restaurant. The service was excellent! I ordered the Ham & Cheddar omelette with Hash Browns & Wheat toast. The menu is limited on selections to choose from. Prices are on the high side. There is a full bar where you can sit or tables to enjoy your meal. There is plenty of free parking. The Produce Alley is wheelchair accessible. The restroom are up at the top of stairs. I did not see any elevator. They have short business hours 6am-2:00pm closed on weekends. It was good comforting.
This is a placeholder review from Feb 2019, so by the time you read this the location may be quite different. I visit the Golden Gate Produce Terminal once a year and typically have breakfast while traffic dies down. Let's face it, there's something really cool about having ham and eggs at 7AM in an old bar & grill next to people having drinks, because they just got off work. Ownership and Management changed in late 2018, so the older reviews and menu no longer apply. The new owner is running a basic menu(which they execute fine) from 6 AM -2 PM until a rebranding takes place. The new owner, who waited on us, indicated he is assembling a team and possibly be renaming the restaurant in the future. To the new owner, good luck and God bless. (and the North Beach Panini that the last owners had on the menu, pretty good, maybe you could work it into the new menu..hint hint)
God place and great food!!
Fun place for several reasons: first of all, fun to find. Our Lyft driver was convinced we were wrong, and looked concerned as we went past the guard shack and approached the rows of produce warehouses. But the tavern sign makes it easy to find. If you are trying to find this place and thinking: ‘We’ll, this can’t be right!’ You are almost there.

A great plate of food for a produce market "tavern." I dropped in to catch an early World Cup match. XX on tap + breakfast = one happy camper spectator. The vibe was kind of well-worn dive-y, serving almost exclusively the folks who work at the produce market - not the spot for ambience snobs or tourists....
I don't usually do reviews but this place blew away my expectations so I had to. Great experience, and even better food. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area.
Love this place! Working man's establishment
