My family and I come here from time to time on weekends mainly when we're craving for soy milk, savory rice rolls, and you tiao. They serve authentic Northern China dishes so most of the items on the menu are spicy. Fear not for you non-spicy food eaters as they can make items on their menu non-spicy too. If you're not sure what to order, ask your server for recommendations or just look at their wall of pictures for their specialties. Our usuals consist of: 南昌炒米粉 - The dish itself is spicy, but it can be made non-spicy. This dish is made with spaghetti thin noodles, pork strips, and veggies. FYI- this dish can be a bit greasy. Savory Rice Roll - sticky rice wrapped with pork floss, preserved veggie, and you tiao. This is super yummy when they use fresh you tiao as you get a bit of savory from the pork floss and preserved veggie and crunch from you tiao in every bite. You Tiao - Who doesn't like fried donuts? Give them a try if you're in the area!

We came here for the Nanchang chow fun, but also loved other dishes that we ordered, fried fish and eggplant. When I ordered chow fun the owner kept confirming if I wanted the regular spicy level which I agreed. It ended up being quite spicy. I ate Sichuan food constantly but this is another type of spicy even though I don't see much red pepper in the chow fun dish. The restaurant itself seems a bit old and interior looks very disorganized. However, I heard this place has very authentic JiangXi food, which does taste really good

The house special clay pot soup tasted sour and it made my stomach quite upset today.

This is not the best Chinese restaurant nor the worst. Creamy Chicken Corn Soup was good, although not very creamy. It's essentially Egg Drop Soup with corn and chicken added, and the liquid is fairly clear. Chicken Chow Mein is fine. Not my favorite, but it has flavor, unlike some others I've had in the area, and not dry, like others I've had -- but maybe it's just a tad TOO wet, maybe a tad too much oil? But by no means inedible. The gal at the front said they use white meat chicken, I'm not so sure about that, but either way I did not care for the sort of gummy consistency of the chicken, so I just put those pieces aside. I shoulda gone with my instinct and gotten shrimp instead, which is hard to screw up. While I like the layout of their interior space, the indoor/outdoor-type carpet they have desperately needs to be replaced. Wood flooring is needed although I'm gonna guess they don't have the budget for that right now. Giving them four stars because they were open Christmas Day when many other places were not and the food was decent, but for my Chow Mein I will likely stick with my fave in Daly City (check my other reviews to find out which I'm referring to).

Dined at restaurant for lunch. Good portions, and food was fine. Service was a little slow since only 1 waiter on the floor. Detraction: their credit card machine was broken, so had to pay cash. Waiter should have informed us before seating about that.

Don't judge the restaurant by its odd and unattractive appearance as I once did. Flavorful, well-executed dishes. I have not had a bad dish here. Friendly service. The interior is quite dated, but spacious, tables aren't packed close without walking space like other Chinese restaurants. Usually kinda empty...a shame. They have regional dishes that you don't easily find. A hidden gem!

Best spot to get food when in a hurry. Their customer service is rapid, prices are convenient, good atmosphere. I highly recommend this place

Very authentic Chinese food with reasonable portion and price in the South San Francisco! My favorite is the pickled fish. Highly Recommended!

Horrible. I'm in town for work and wanted some Asian comfort food. I placed an order for their braised pork belly, dumplings, and rice. I get there to pick up the food, look in the bag, and don't see any spoon/fork/napkin/or sauces. I asked for that stuff because I'd be eating in my hotel room. The girl went rummaging through a drawer and found one fork, she said she was only able to find one fork. Weird. You're doing take out orders and have only one fork you found in a random drawer (I carry dish soap because I travel so much so I did wash the fork at the hotel before using it). Then, she went to the kitchen and to some other area to get the chili sauce and soy sauce, as if she had no idea where to find them. I get back to the hotel and was beyond disappointed and disgusted. I was given pork intestines instead of pork belly. I couldn't eat it, I tried because I paid for it, but it was so gross. I ended up just eating some dumplings and getting an instant noodle pack from the hotel. Oh, to top it off, the one fork broke as I was eating the dumplings. Strangest and horrible take out experience in SF so far. Please don't advertise pork intestines as pork belly. Thanks.

Read good reviews of this restaurant before. So when a friend spoke enthusiastically about it, I dropped by for lunch on a Monday (08/02/2021). It was a quarter to 1pm but the restaurant was not open for business, though Google said otherwise. The restaurant is in a very local area in south San Francisco and looks a bit out of repairs. Would give it another try for the authentic Jiangxi food so many have poured their praises for.

Seriously delicious. One of the best authentic Chinese food places in the area. Especially if you like it spicy ?! They seem a bit empty lately which breaks my heart because there food is worth keeping around. Go try Root!
