We were party of five and got seated at a small table that is extremely tight and uncomfortable. Food are so americanize and don't taste good. The only Japanese about this restaurant was the Asahi and Sapporo beer.

Even though they were short staffed and we had no reservations we (party of 5) were seated within 10min and food came quickly. Service was excellent. Definitely recommend for the weekend.

So the food is very good especially the basics like fried tofu and the house salad. The mamachi spicy roll was also fire! However, the service was horrible. I understand people are still in training but the server we had messed up our order numerous times, she was very hard to understand because she spoke under her breath and very fast. We felt weird having to ask her to constantly repeat herself. The workers need more training before being solo on the floor.

Friends brought me here for dinner. This place is located in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking however, this area is popular so finding a close parking spot can be a little challenging at times. For us, there's was about a 15 minute wait as it was near the end of the dinner run. Eventually, we're seated in the dining area. You can also sit at the sushi bar or the teppanyaki grill. We just got an assortment of sushi items. All in all it was good, but nothing to rave about. This a restaurant that serves Japanese food...not just sushi. That being said, some items I'm use to seeing on sushi menus were missing...like Saba. Besides sushi, there are lots of other Japanese entrees to chose from. I felt the prices were moderately high. This place does charge a surcharge if you pay with either a debit card or credit card. Again, nothing special stood out taste-wise...just an average Japanese restaurant in my book.

Tonkotsu Ramen includes broccoli, carrots, asparagus and noodles in a Progresso vegetable broth (No tonkotsu) Sushi tastes fishy, not at all like the ocean or fresh But should be okay if you like the rolls that gets smothered in sauce or have it fried so you can't really taste the fish Also they don't serve crab it's all imitation ‍ Plus all the rolls and plates are pretty much $20 each Hostess is a little rude and not very compliant, but I don't really blame her because it was busy. The servers are pretty cool, but it seems like these guys are overworked I guess you should go to this restaurant if you want the hibachi experience and don't want to go that far But if you like food, you've got better options in town that'll be more kind to your wallet 4/10 ‍

The manager LUCY was very rude!! The wait was extremely long (even with our reservation), took extremely long just to get drinks, and they messed up our order, gave me the wrong tab, split mine and my husband's check (we were together), and charged me for something I did not order. Lucy did not want to fix this her response that she kept repeating was "but you didn't have an issue when you got your food right". This will be my first and last time eating there. I should've looked at how badly their reviews were on Yelp before going.

Do not go.... I'm here now kids took me out for my birthday dinner ordered 6 rolls 3 appetizers EVERY food item was trash and the best thing they provided was the drinks from the bar. I'm so disappointed 220.77 absolutely wasted. Should alway follow your first mind. This was not my first choice. Came back just to make sure I tipped the bar tender..... only thing deserving of a shout out.

Went in there to have lunch with my kids to surprise them for a nice chef ordeal but I guess they only do it for dinner I tried to call for like an hour on the phone there was nobody answering the phone and it was saying welcome to Verizon so I walk in there I sit down me and my family were sitting there for 5 minutes no one even notices us I guess the waiter didn't know we were there so we walked out

My daughter and I lie to visit here every now and again for sushi. For the most part the location has a nice ambiance and a good sized business. The food is great and the service that we had from here yesterday with our waitress was great. The only concern that caught my attention was walking on a sticky floor as f it may not have been cleaned lately. There is a nice bar location to enjoy some drinks. I like a lot of the Decor that is displayed throughout as well. They do get busy fairly quickly. Location opens at 430 for the start of dinner menu

KEITH!!! he's so amazing!! if you come here please request him. he is on to such amazing things at such a young age. he is so beyond talented and such a pleasant person to have making your meal with so much passion that shows!! also Mikayla is the sweetest server. I swear she read my mind without me even saying anything so many times even in our large group!! thank you guys for such an amazing evening and making the birthday we were celebrating so special.

It was my birthday and my wife wanted to make it special. I love tapenyaki grills, but raw fish, not so much. I was aware of the mixed reviews, but we also heard good things about the grill, so we decided at the last minute to try it out. I've been to some really fine tapenyaki restaurants in the past, but this was a first for my wife of 2 years. We arrived at 5:45 without a reservation. I asked for a grill table and was happily seated immediately. We immediately ordered two of their specialty Mai Tai drinks (remember the time, it's important later). They were so delicious we ordered another round later. One of the things I love about tapenyaki is visiting with tablemates, which is almost always the case. BTW, if you're not comfortable with sharing a table and making friends with strangers over a meal, then don't do tapenyaki without a group of at least 6 friends or family. This night we were seated with five others, an older couple with a friend, and a twenty something mother with her precocious 5 year-old daughter. We were all friendly, open to conversation and ready to have fun. We all ordered a variety of tappen entrés including chicken, fish, steak, shrimp and lobster. I noticed other tables ordering sushi as well, but I was fine with skipping this option. Everyone also opted for the garlic fried rice. It was delicious and I highly recommend it. I selected the Ahi Tuna, my wife the Shrimp Flambé, the mother and daughter ordered chicken with a lobster side. Steak and chicken rounded out the table orders. A major piece of the tapenyaki experience is the showy cooking of the chef. Our chef was a little inexperienced and this left us wanting. He opened with a good flare (literally), but once he got down to the cooking the show was pretty much over. He was, however, a good cook and everyone agreed the food (and there was a lot of it) was delicious. I ordered Seared Ahi Tuna rare, but he kept cooking it until it was medium (and is one of the reasons for losing a star). However, it was still juicy and the sauce was amazing, so still really good. My wife's shrimp was perfect, but the flambé show I expected was skipped (another reason for the 4 stars). That said, everyone raved about their food, even the mom who ordered the lobster side, though for the $20 extra I was surprised to see this 6oz. tail diced up and grilled with teriyaki sauce. I would have expected something a little more special. Now for the negatives: * The chef's presentation and flare makes the meal an experience. The other chef on duty was more experienced, and from what I could see from behind him, put on a better presentation that our chef "in-training", so this was a little disappointing. * It was very pricey for Stockton. Our tab, including those delicious MaiTais, was $139 + tip (and our selections were not the high priced items on the tappen menu). * When leaving I saw a poster in the window advertising "Happy Hour" 4:30-6:00 pm. We arrived and were seated with drinks ordered BEFORE 6, but were not offered the discount on our first round of $13+ drinks. * It's very noisy. Don't go there expecting an intimate dinner. It was a fun experience, but very difficult to hear conversation. They really need some sound dampening wall covering and screens. * It was very crowded, and though the servers wore masks, pandemic considerations were not even an after-thought. The grill tables are open seating, so expect to share the table with with a few strangers unless your with at least a 6 party group. If you're unvaccinated I would not recommend open grill seating if you are at all concerned about COVID. Instead choose the Sushi section for seating. Leave your unvaccinated kids at home. Our tablemate mom brought her unvaccinated 5 year-old who was sat next to strangers (us). We are vaccinated, but since less than half the county is, and with the spiking numbers, there was a good chance we might not have been, or worse, if we had been COVID carriers there isn't a chance in the world that beautiful

I brought out of town family here and it was terrible! Rushed to order and rarely saw our waitress. The only container of soy sauce for 8 people was nearly empty and it was dirty and sticky. We asked for more several times and got nothing. Chef was a little annoyed that we even asked. The calamari had zero flavor. I will not be back...ever

I came to Stockton from Seattle. My relatives brought me this Domo Japanese Sushi Grill and Bar for dinner.No matter where you go to Teppanyaki, it's noisy. When you place an order, you have to say it loud. A service lady was not nice and kind of pushing us to order plus drinks.The teppanyaki menu comes with salad and soup. And you can choose fried rice or rice, and stir-fried vegetables are also included.I heard that the amount of teppanyaki is large, so we asked for one order of Teppanyaki menu, a steak, squid calamari and scallopand added one special sushi "Volcano" with 2 people.I enjoyed the chef's performance in front of the iron plate. But the other tables were so noisy that I couldn't enjoy the meal. There is only one wasabi and soy sauce for eight people. soy sauce container was dirty, sticky and yucky. The soy sauce wasn't enough for us. How many times we asked get more wasabi and soy sauce. There is no soy sauce or wasabi on the way.The taste was light and the calamari was unpleasant.The special sushi Volcano didn't taste very good either. I heard complaints from all my relatives, not just me.We came here in anticipation, but with disappointing results.

I've been here serval times but my most recent time will be my last. We waited over a hour and a half to be seated. We were told 3x that it would just be 10 minutes after we were skipped each time. Then we got to the table my group specifically wanted cooked sushi we explained that apparently the rude waitress didn't understand that. She began to argue with us all over what THEY ordered. We weren't getting anywhere with her so we asked for the manager (owner) she's just as worse. after explaining 10x that we just didn't want 1 of the rolls she said oh I thought the entire order was wrong when we kept saying no just this 1 roll. She refuses to take it off or even take it back or offer a different roll that was cooked. We also told them how are they suppose to know what's cooked if your menu doesn't state it and your waitress don't know. It's not our fault it's yours the restaurant for not putting that on your mobile menus. She didn't care to hear it. Horrid service. The waitress avoided us for the rest of the night. She was still tipped despite being so rude. I don't know how they are still open with all the negative reviews and mistreatment.
