“So far the best butter chicken I've had is from this restaurant. That's really the major reason why I visit this restaurant because the butter chicken is so delicious. Also like their mango lassi and garlic naan as well. For anyone new to this restaurant those are the items I recommend getting from here. The food can be a bit pricy “
“The food at Bollywood Cafe was amazing! The butter chicken was very tasty and the naan bread was nice and fluffy. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is lively. It's definitely a must-visit spot for Indian food lovers in Los Angeles! 10/10 “
“Love, Love Love this place. Been here twice now with some friends from Kerala. Food is fantastic. Personal favorite is the porotta with Kerala fish curry. The masala dosa and the different varieties of uthappam are great too. Can't get enough of Mayura and I always leave stuffed.“
“Ordered takeout from here after a big move and everyone was raving about how delicious it was. Generous portions, reasonable turnaround for the order to be ready, and they called me when it was ready.Parking lot had plenty of space at 7pm on a weeknight.Careful not to miss this place, it is right next to a freeway overpass and the parking entrance is off a side street.“
“Quick, easy, and so delicious. I've eaten food from here numerous times and have never been disappointed. Everyone who works there are very nice. Very generous portions of food for the price. Their garlic naan is HUGE. I highly recommend getting the chicken tikka masala, mango chicken, jeera aloo, and garlic naan. Get it all at once, get it separately, but these are staples that you must try from here.Vegetarian options: Jeera Aloo, Channa Masala, veggie pakora, veggie samosa, aloo ghobi, eggplant, veggie korma.“
“This is one of the best indian restaurants in all of Los Angeles. I am a huge foodie and have eaten at almost EVERY indian restaurant in LA. I am also Indian and eat indian food almost daily. So when i say this place is incredible, i have a LOT to compare it to. This food is so authentically delicious while not being over loaded with cream, butter and ghee. It isn’t heavy like all the other indian restaurants can be. You leave feeling satiated but not disgustingly full or gross. It’s the perfect balance of tasty without gluttonous. Every dish was phenomenal - vegetarian and the meat! All exceptional! 10/10 and will be back MANY more times!!!! My only regret was I found out about this place just now!!!“
“Me and my fiancé were craving Indian food and decided to try the place out because we noticed the good reviews. The reviews are definitely justified!! It was soooo good. They were so generous because they let us try their lentil soup and rice pudding on the house. We got butter chicken and the chicken was so soft and tender. One of the issues that I have with some Indian restaurant’s butter chicken is the chicken tends to be dry but that was definitely not the case here. The chicken was so soft that for a second I thought they used chicken thighs instead of chicken breast but it was chicken breast. We got onion bhaji, mango lassi, meat samosa, shrimp biryani etc and everything was excellent. Highly recommend!! <3 will definitely be back“
“The food at Curry Zone reminded me of my good olden days in India when the food at my hostel was messed up and I used to get some delicious meals from local curry points. I have experienced so many places messing simplest curries like chicken and goat curries but their chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, goat curry, aloo gobi, veg korma and dal makhni AND MANGO LASSI were an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT for me, my husband and our best friends. My white friend is absolutely in love with their food. I wish this is closer to our place in DC.“
“This is my family's favorite restaurant, we celebrate all important dates. Saleem and the other guys are very nice and make going to dinner an experience worth sharing with loved ones. My favorite dish is chicken Tikka with shrimp biryani rice and tomato cucumber salad and vegetable soup.“
“My friend and I came to Tara's because she had heard good things about the restaurant from multiple people. We came in not really sure what to expect, and left with very happy bellies. The food was good and the portions were huge for the price. I got the butter chicken and asked them to swap the dark meat for white meat which they were able to do. It was quite the savory treat! My friend got the Daal Bhat Tarkari with Garlic Tofu and was happy with her choice as well. We also got an extra side of rice and some garlic naan bread to share and had plenty of leftovers to have for lunch the next day. The restaurant has a very cozy feel to it and our waitress was a total sweetheart. Tara's is the perfect place to come for some warm food on a cold night. I can't wait to come back!“
“Store owner is great. Cheap groceries and has everything you'd need to make a last minute meal or if you're missing an ingredient which I've needed on occasion lol. I'm super excited that I won't have to drive far and it's open late. Definitely recommend!“
“Absolutely my favorite Indian place in Los Angeles. Staff are super nice and service is quick. The food is absolutely delicious. I can't stop myself from ordering from here at least a couple times each month. Small seating area, so mostly takeout-oriented. Order through their website to avoid unnecessary fees!“
“This place has really good and really authentic Indian dishes. The service was great. The restraunt atmosphere was fine but not anything to write home about. This place was in walking distance from our airbnb we rented. We walked over on a Tuesday night around 6 and it wasn't too crowded. The items are sharable and you have to order everything separately so make sure you order some naan or rice for the soupier dishes.“
“Best Indian restaurant we have tried since long. Amazing food and friendly staff. Everything is so delicious vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian. Highly recommended place if you are nearby and want to have authentic indian cuisine.Vegetarian options: Good amount of options for vegetarian“
“Last night, we celebrated my sister’s birthday at Electric Karma, and I’m thrilled to share our wonderful experience. From the moment we entered, the vibe of the restaurant enveloped us in warmth and hospitality, setting the stage for a memorable evening. We were a group of seven, and every single one of us was impressed with the deliciousness of the food. Each dish was a perfect blend of authentic Indian flavors, masterfully prepared to tantalize our taste buds. The staff’s attentiveness added to our celebration, making us feel truly special. The ambiance of Electric Karma, combined with its exquisite cuisine, made my sister’s birthday not just a meal, but a joyous occasion we will all remember fondly. Highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy top-notch Indian cuisine in a vibrant and welcoming setting.“
“I just went to have dinner at this restaurant because of the reviews I've read. It's true, it's a cozy place with delicious food and kind service. I had the chicken Tikka Masala and my wife the Mango coconut Lamb, with butter naan and Mango Lassi. I had never had Indian plates before and I strongly recommend this restaurant if you like good food.“
“Overall the food was AMAZING! ? This was my first time ever trying Indian cuisine and my god it was so tasty! They don’t skimp on the portions at all! I paid around $37 and they gave me enough food to feed a family of 3! lol ? Honesty I recommend this place. If I knew this hidden jem existed before I would’ve reviewed this place earlier lol“
“The food was amazing and so unique. Very different from any other restaurant I've ever been to! The service was also incredible. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. The waiters shared some favorites from the menu and helped guide us in terms of amount of food. We can't wait to come back!“
“A casual no fuss place with great food, I stop here every few weeks to get my fix of authentic Burmese dishes. I usually get the tofu thoke and asone thoke plus a falooda or another dessert from their to-go shelves, everything tastes fresh and flavors are consistent each time. The portions are generous and reasonable prices too.“
“OMG the tikka masala spaghetti and the indo-chinese veggie chowmein are INCREDIBLE. Can't find dishes like this anywhere else in LA. And the Indian tacos are INSANE. Very distinct menu. Delicious food. And super friendly staff. Definitely making this a regular stop on the rotation.“
“Visiting from Vancouver and came across this sweet little restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing - fresh, flavourful, and delicious! My wife and I are quite picky about Indian food but this place hit the mark! We had to go back one more time before we left L.A. They were closing that day but the owner was super kind and let us in. Will definitely come back to this place the next time we visit L.A.“
“I had lunch today for the first time. Veg samosas, sag paneer, channa masala, rice and potato stuffed naan. All of it was so fresh and very delicious! Large portions so I had plenty to take home. It was also very clean and quiet with attentive service. I'll be back.“
“Certainly! Sham India's Oven is renowned not only for its delectable saag paneer, samosas, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan and desserts but also for the warmth and kindness of its owner! Their culinary offerings are consistently delicious, showcasing the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. The owner's friendly demeanor and understanding nature add to the overall dining experience, making it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. Whether you're craving traditional Indian dishes or seeking a welcoming atmosphere, Sham India's Oven is sure to satisfy both your appetite and your soul. ????️“
“Such a lovely dining experience! Friendly, kind and attentive servers. The food was delicious. Well presented, fresh flavours. We even enjoyed watching people come and go from the 7-11 with a stunning view of the observatory in the near distance- classic LA. Will definitely be coming here again!“
“Best Indian food I've ever had. Everytime I've ordered elsewhere since ordering from here I've been disappointed. My GO TO Indian spot & it will never be rivaled! I always get the veggie coconut curry, basmati rice, veggie samosas, raita, mint sauce & mango chutney, and the cheese naan. And a mango lassi & gulab for dessert of course. Consistent and delicious. Love yall!“
“Amazing food, great service and a passionate and kind owner. This is by far the best Indian food restaurant in Valley. We have tried this 5 times now and will go again. I hope the owner maintains the quality and quantity and even improve. Price point may feel like higher, hope they work on it or increase the quantity of the items. Malai Kofta, Other Curry, Appetizers, Biryani are awesome. Worth visiting.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of room, food can be mild for kids.“
“Had one of their combo meals via delivery. Goat curry, saag paneer and a mixed veg dish with rice, naan and raita. Everything was delicious, certainly some of the best Indian food I've had close to mid city. Very much appreciate that they serve goat and have dishes on the menu that are outside the standard Indian menu you see at most places in the area. Looking forward to going in person and trying their balti dishes as well as the paya. "Very very spicy" here seems to mean mildly spicy, so if you're a chili head like me best to let them know you mean business. The cilantro mint chutney was probably the best I've ever had-so fresh. All around great food.“
“This place totally lives up to its hype and is 100% deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. I would highly recommend one of the chef’s tasting menus to let the chef take your taste buds on a gastronomic journey bursting with flavor at every twist and turn. Each dish is truly a unique delight and will wow your senses. I would highly recommend the Beef Rendang, the butter chicken, the green papaya salad, and the dry aged branzino. You have to order the roti too of course! The atmosphere feels like your rich grandmothers living room with pink wallpaper and vintage- looking wood tables. They also serve the dishes on mix and matched antique porcelain plates with unique designs, which adds to the vibe. You have to make a reservation here in advance, unless you’re cool sitting outside at a high top (fyi when we sat here the service was not as good as usual).“
“We were looking for an authentic desi food, and loved it. The place or ambience is a fast food place one, more for a carry out orders. . We ordered Goat Paya curry, Goat biryani, Chicken biryani, naan, mango lassi( really tasty), and Mixed grill. The proportion size is great. Courtesy of the owner, Karim bhai was superb, served us complimentary Ras malai. Their chai is good too. They have fresh samosas too.Tomas at the front cashier counter is also a kind lady. Overall, great experience.Pricing is reasonable too.“
“I wish I could give them 4.5 stars but it's not an option. And let's be real- there is zero ambiance here. I wouldn't want to dine in. But the owner is super friendly and the food is delicious. And that's what it's all about right? My family ordered a few mains, plus apps and sides and every single thing was tasty. At first I thought the portions were a little small for the money, but those containers held a lot more than they looked! Even without ordering a ton we had a couple of small lunches the next day. I suggest ordering from the Yelp menu which is much more extensive than the website menu. We will definitely be back and would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys the flavors of India!“
“The burst of flavors in food was unlike anything I've ever had before. The crispy rice crepe, filled with a spicy potato mixture and served with coconut chutney, was a breakfast dish that left a lasting impression on my taste buds. Amazing butter chicken. Absolutely suggested.“
“The rose water is amazing! I tried that with the 2 dish combo which was veggie masala, peas and potatoes, rice and added garlic to the naan. This place is legitimate!!!!! Highly recommend to any city dwellers ~Vegetarian options: The masala is beautifully made. Highly recommend“
“This place is the 1st Indian restaurant to make food that is tasty and non spicy! A real game changer for me as I can't handle spicy food at all. And although that did an extraordinary service to adjust that to suit me, it didn't lack flavour and authenticity. Delicious dishes, generous portions and lovely staff ?“
“A very pleasant surprise near Universal Studios. We found a nice Indian restaurant. This nice restaurant serves some good favorite Indian dishes that you would be familiar with. The spices are perfect.certainly enjoyable. Medium heat is perfect and may be geared for the spice lovers thus choose accordingly if you are more adventurous they have hot and very hot options. The decor is nice and cleanThe dining room was packed with customers tonight. They are well situated from their long history at this location. The pricing is reflective of all this and is very good value. You will be well satisfied. We’ll be back real soon Royal Curry“
“Ordered a chai, garlic naan, matar paneer, okra dish, and vegetable biryani. Everything was magnificent and we will definitely be going back. Their chai tasted like home! This restaraunt is Bangladeshi-owned and their daughter Hafsa is such a sweet host and her parents are wonderful and talented cooks!Parking: 6 spotsKid-friendliness: Small space but very kid friendly!“
“Best Indian food (especially their vegetarian menu) in Los Angeles. Their flavors are so rich and unlike any of the dime a dozen Indian restaurants in LA. This may be due to their North Indian recipes that differ from the common South Indian flavors that are in most restaurants. Their food is simply incomparable and I’ve grown up eating Indian food from all the local hot spots. If you’re unsure of where to go- you MUST try this place.Vegetarian options: Vegetable Korma is a must!“
“Hidden little gem in a plaza that looks uninviting on the outside but very cozy on the inside and serves authentic, large portion dishes. I ordered for pick up on Uber eats as they had a BOGO promotion on a variety of different combos. So, my boyfriend and I chose the chicken tikka masala that came with plain naan for only $18 for 2. The taste matched the amazing price point. The sauce was super rich and creamy with a hint of sweetness + tanginess and medium heat then topped with the well balanced spices that come along with Indian dishes. However, it was the service that caught my attention and triggered my desire to promote the business even more. I want to say it was the owner that had such a welcoming & kind character to him. When I ordered from here before, the combos used to come with drinks so I assumed the same with ordering this time around. We asked if they had forgotten our sodas and he softly explained "oh, I'm sorry. That was the old promotion we used to do but I don't mind giving you guys sodas. Thanks for being returning customers" with a sweet smile.Don't forget to support small businesses - this one is definitely a big worth it in my books!“
“Excellent delicious, fresh, healthy vegetarian food served in a highly uplifting atmosphere. Nice people, and fantastic location next to the Krishna temple. We also went to the Bhagavad Gita museum next door and thought that was fabulous. Will definitely return the next time we are in LA!“
“First time checking this place out and it was wonderful! The staff was so friendly and offered us suggestions and even offered us samples if we wanted. We chose the chicken tikka masala and lamb curry naan wraps. Both were so warm, flavorful and satisfying. They also have Thumbs Up Cola! Can’t wait to come back again soon.“
“Just so you know that I mean it, I'll write this part in all caps for you...I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The food is amazing/delicious and I guarantee you will find something you will like. There are many great vegetarian options on the side to accompany the wide plethora of meals, for example the Paneer Burrito (which is what I usually get). Amazing and kind staff/people here as well!“
“Absolutely delicious, unique food! The garlic naan, the samosa chat appetizer, the garlic shrimp, the black dal, the alloo gobi - fantastic! The service was fine though a bit indifferent/inattentive. No real ambiance. But the food was SO good we'll definitely go back!“
“Went to grab dinner here before a Laker game and absolutely loved it. We ordered the Mekhani chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas and it was all delicious. We also had a mango lassi and masala tea, which were fantastic. The service was great, super kind man who chatted with us a bit. He kindly gave us some free dessert at the end, which was also delicious (I forgot what it was called but it was shredded carrot in a sweet milk with nuts. So good!). It is cash/Venmo only, so be prepared with either.“
“Breakfast and lunch are great at Tray. Everything on the menu is delicious!! Top notch staff as well. The Buttermilk Fried chicken is a Wednesday favorite. They also recently added an amazing Torta to the menu. This place is a DTLA hidden gem!“
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Abiruchi Indian Restaurant is a culinary adventure that'll leave you feeling happier and fuller than Peter Griffin after a Thanksgiving feast! The lunch buffet from 11:30 AM to 2:45 PM for just $24.99, tip included, is an absolute steal.I practically waddled out of there after devouring four plates of their mouthwatering offerings. Those doughy, puffy tangerine-sized delights with the gravy-like dipping sauce are pure heaven for your taste buds.As if the food weren't entertaining enough, the content on the TVs had me researching if I should pack my bags and head to India to become an extra in a Bollywood movie. Abiruchi Indian Restaurant isn't just a place to eat—it's an experience you won't soon forget!Parking: Parking lot in the back of the building!“
“We loved this the best an Indian foods in town ? ?we have keeping coming this restaurant for over 20 years. If you wanting the best an Indian foods this is the place. Parking for freeKid-friendliness: I saw kids eating there too“
“Delicious food! Every dish was solid and exquisite. Overall, I think it's good food but not worth the price, considering how similar quality dishes could be found more accessibly at other indian places. Tried a variety of dishes: Co-li cauliflower - had a good coconut sauce, cauliflower had a good batter (could have been crispier), despite the menu saying "you cannot miss this", this definitely could have been skipped, especially since its a $20 appetizer Dahi puri - yum Samosas - good, but i can also get a similar quality for much cheaper, wasn't anything extra special Malai kofta - YUMMY, greaty creamy curry dish. Chef's kiss Garlic naan - soooo garlicy i love Kulcha - delicious as well, but not a must Mango lassi - good, ive had better, tbh tastes like the store bought ones“
“Trendy Indian spot in Culver. Came here with a friend for her birthday and we went to town on ordering different bites. Indoor and heated outdoor seating available. We ordered the samosas (2 very large ones come in an order), lamb truffle seekh kebab, butter chicken, saffron rice (rice isn’t included in the dishes), garlic naan, and eggplant masala. We had leftovers for the following day which kept well. The lamb truffle had an interesting flavor but was a bit dry. The garlic naan comes in 2 pieces cut in half, and went well with the butter chicken. I liked the green sauce that came on the side of the samosas a lot. The eggplant masala had some surprising heat that crept up on us and is a good vegetarian option. This place is pricier than your typical mom and pop Indian spot but has a cooler vibe. Overall, a solid choice if you’re craving Indian food but want a hipper ambiance.“
“India’s Grill is a very nice and warm restaurant with very delicious Indian food. We discovered it by accident, but now it’s one of my favorite in LA. It’s a family owned restaurant, the food we ordered was so good and comforting! The atmosphere was of an authentic restaurant in India and the people who run it were so friendly.“
“Me my daughter and son ate there today 2-22-24 our server was named Aboul ( sorry if I'm spelling his name wrong) he was very nice and attentive .We had butter chicken, Vindaloo chicken, tandoori shrimp, chicken jalfrezi (sp) garlic nann, rice plus a few apatizers sorry the spelling of the foods elude me...nevertheless the food was excellent perfect flavor and not too spicy.Do yourself a favor and try this place .“
