****il tramonto has closed but the head chef giampi has a new location! speak easy, 4 course, scratch made italian with a twist , under the stars. look up "the reserved garden"!! reservation only! pregoo!!!

Salty Sauce

It's a little on the pricey side. I thought i would be blown away from the price of what I ordered but sadly, I wasn't.The beer was great. Probably the only thing I truly loved.I was a little confused with the pesto they give you with the bread for an appetizer. Usually it's colored green because after the basil gets pulverized, it spreads out into the oil but it wasn't. It was like they just cut up basil and added garlic to some olive oil. I actually didn't think this was pesto but when I ordered the gnocchi, they didn't have an option for pesto. The server mentioned that they could add pesto to the option with the white sauce and referenced the dish that was sitting next to the bread saying they would add that to the white sauce and make it a creamy version. I almost thought he was joking. I did notice this was the higher priced of the two gnocchi options but since they were supposedly doing something special, I didn't mind.I was disappointed. The two sauces didn't really blend together well. But that's probably because they don't make the pesto sauce right in the first place.Something that really bothered me was that I chose to sit outside where nobody else was sitting. Not only did I not want to be bothered but we are in the middle of a pandemic. I try to sit as far away from people that I can. It was a little cold outside but I had a warm jacket so I thought it would be a great place to be alone. I sat in the far corner of the patio. Halfway through my meal, they sat a huge party of 10 people RIGHT NEXT TO ME. They had the entire patio but the people were being super picky and wanted to sit right there. Of course, their bill will probably break 400 easy so they get whatever they want. I probably wouldn't have cared but the food just didn't do it for me. Plus, I had to run home because it made me sick. I came home and it made my stomach hurt and drowsy. I passed out and 6 hours later I'm writing this with a headache and I still have a stomach ache. I've had better authentic Italian not far from here and for less price. I guess it's the location you pay for but sitting here trying to prevent myself from gaging... still, from being sick and I think I'll pass.

Ok, so I know there is always a story behind certain processes and situations. I have talked this place up to everyone we meet, have taken several of my staff and family to eat here and truly do enjoy there food. However, the last 3 times we have been here, we have waited over an hour to be seated with no one providing us update as to why.
Last time was yesterday. My brother and nephew were in town and we headed to Temecula for wine and as always, I talked this place up. We arrived at restaurant at 5:10, 10 minutes after opening. My brother jumped out and inquired if they would be able to accommodate our part of 6, and he was told absolutely....and it would take no more than 10 minutes. We waited and waited and when we inquired 30 minutes later they told us they didn't want to overwhelm the kitchen and were waiting to sit us. At this point, a table of 4 got up and left after not receiving drinks and only bread. At 6:05 we inquired again and they responded the same way as before.
Not sure what the situation was, but this is the 3rd time we have walked away disappointed in the last several months.
I really LOVE this place and would LOVE to come and enjoy its amazing food, just not sure when.

Delicious food and big portions for a reasonable price. I came on a weekend and waited about an hour to be seated. I put my name down at 615ish and the place was already packed. It wasn't a problem because I just Walked around the beautiful downtown Temecula. This place was poppin' with people given that it's still covid. I think once you get out of LA, people don't care as much about it.

I got seated at around 715 and ordered right away. They also have indoor dining but I was seated outside. The hostesses were actually TURNING PEOPLE AWAY from putting their names on the waitlist because of how busy they were. This speaks to the quality of this business. So if you want to enjoy this restaurant be sure to come early!

I ordered the carbonara and it was so creamy and the pasta were cooked perfectly al dente! The portions are huge and I probably ate 1/4 of it and was full. I also tried the chicken Parmesan and that was so good! The chicken was of great quality and perfectly breaded. I honestly liked it better than my dish because it was lighter tomato sauce and not as heavy like my carbonara. But! Both dishes were still good and you can't go wrong with either. The complimentary bread they provide is to DIE FOR! That garlic pesto sauce is bomb and honestly might be my favorite part of the meal! I also ordered a panna cotta for dessert to share and it was good. It wasn't overly sweet and I enjoyed it.

The service was top notch and I couldn't have asked for a better restaurant to support. This place is kinda tucked away from the hustle and bustle of old town Temecula. It was a nice and quiet place to enjoy dinner. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice dinner.

We were sitting at our table for about 20 minutes, no one came to take our order. My husband had to tell the hostess we were waiting for 20 minutes. Finally a waiter came over apologized, saying our waiter was busy. I believe he was talking to the table behind us for the entire time we were waiting. Once we were able to order, it was fine, but then the waiter didn't come by to check on us. I asked to order a pizza to go for my son, but the waiter forgot to place the order.

My girlfriend and I decided to have dinner here on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately and were greeted by our server, Mark. After sampling a few wines, we settled on our selection and ordered our food. Our meals were taking longer than expected, but Mark took care of us with some wine and an additional basket of their delicious bread and pesto, and assured us we could expect our meal shortly. He said it will be worth the wait, and he was exactly right.

The pasta was homemade - thick and cooked to al dente perfection. Everything about it was top notch.

Thanks to the top notch service by our server, Mark, and the excellent food, we most certainly will be visiting again in the future.

Marina was a very nice server!The food was great..I really liked the grilled octopus salad and the almond cookies were fantastic as a takeaway for my latte later.I wished they had pistachio cookies available..maybe next time!?

Our meals were terrific--and huge. The calamari appetizer was enough for three dinners! My octopus appetizer was big enough to stocks an aquarium. And the chicken piccata would have fed four people. All were wonderful. I'd suggest splitting both the appetizers and the mains, or plan on taking home leftovers. Amazingly large portions.
