We've got Thousand Oaks' top Mexican restaurants covered for you.
“I ordered lobster tacos. The lobster meat is cooked perfectly, the cabbage gives it a crunch, and I like the spiciness from the chipotle aioli. This atmosphere reminds me of dining out in Mexico. Superb service. I recommended all to try this place.“
“I like the organ stuff but only when it is done well and this place does the organ stuff well. I got the lengua and the cabeza and couldn't have been more pleased. I will definitely go back. Fyi, I also did get the Al pastor and it was very good but definitely prefer the lengua and cabeza!“
“Food was amazing service was great and the owner made us feel very welcomed and so did the servers. Definitely a must visit! We had fajitas and flan for dessert OMGGGGG!!! And the bathroom was so adorable and fun , didn’t get pics of the food went down way too fast.“
“The service was great, and the food was amazing. I had chicken and steak fajitas, which kept sizzling at our table for over 4 minutes. I observed many meals going to other tables which were immense a d everyone seemed happy! Give this place a try as I see many are doing because by the time we left....there wasn't a seat left in the place!“
“They have really good hard shell tacos with your choices of meat. My goto are the carnitas, or chicken which is lightly marinated in salas. It's the same chicken they use for there quesadillas too which are delicious! There street tacos de Asada & burritos are good too, and there bean & cheese burritos never disappoint! Of course all this good food couldn't be done without their outstanding service! If you eat here you'll enjoy the Spanish music they play on the TV, or at times they'll have a soccer game on.“
“If you are looking for a fine dining experience, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for delicious and authentic Mexican food prepared with care, great portions, reasonable prices, cleanliness, and super friendly staff… you’ll love this place! :-)“
“AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!I never write reviews but i felt the need to. Me and my husband just came here for the first time for breakfast, we both ordered the little mule burritos with sunny side up eggs, and they offered us a free coffee. We received the food and the portions were very big and filling, you can tell the food was made fresh and the quality is amazing. Each ingredient was made perfectly and so delicious. They wrapped it up perfectly. All the flavors came together, me and my husband were just amazed and still cant shut up about how insanely good it was. They also gave us chipotle sauce that was the best chipotle sauce we’ve ever had and cholula that complimented the burrito even more but even without it, it still tastes amazing. We both agreed this place has the best burritos we have ever had. It was an amazing start to our day. We will most definitely be coming back with a huge smile on our faces to try more things. Can’t wait!!“
“During this Lent season I've been getting my fix of fish tacos on. I've been to Snapper Jacks several times in the last few weeks. I keep planning to order something different but I'm hooked on the fish tacos. I go between the hard and soft shell. But the soft shell are winning me over. Delicious! Rice and beans tops it off.“
“This is a hole in the wall spot in the back left side of the supermarket when you walk in. Most of their food is on display and you see them make it. I've had the asada, chicken and pork for tacos and burritos. Authentic and portions are generous. Only down side is only seating is outside with a few tables. I always get it to go so no problem for me. Prices used to be good prior to pandemic but what place hasn't raised their prices. Highly recommend to give this place a try and you can pick up all your your mexican spices/goods you can't find at an Albertsons.“
“The quintessential, ideal local donut shop. Always fresh, always delicious across a wide spectrum of offerings, and very reasonably priced (this is no bougie Sidecar-esque joint, just outstanding, classic donuts). Parking is free and easy, the proprietors are nice, they're open long hours, I honestly can't think of a single negative thing about it. It's to the point where I find myself making excuses to come grab their donuts any time I can. I've tried most of their offerings in the 3 years since I moved to the area, and you really can't go wrong with anything...but if I had to pinpoint my personal favorites, it's gotta be the glazed buttermilk bar, the chocolate chip roll, and the old-fashioned. I hope this place is here forever.“
“Love three amigos. Been here twice and I loved it both times. The nachos are really good and the burritos are not bad. The salsa was really flavorful. Prices were generally pretty fair for the quality. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor space is rather small but there was plenty of space both times I was there. Would definitely recommend you check it out if you’ve never been.Parking: It is in a large strip mall that is fairly busy. You should be able to find a spot though.“
“The food was great. Of course, I drenched my torta in their habanero sauce because I'm a spice junkie. But that's besides the point! Humble little store, great service. They have really good aguas frescas (their horchata actually tastes like horchata rather than the popular stuff from powder), good menu selection of tortas. Very chill ambiance, they have Mexican snacks and drinks to buy. Overall, great experience. I hope they get more business.“
“I am reviewing Sharky's based on this visit alone since I've been there many times. My daughter and I went on a little dinner date and we decided to share a burrito because she was going to go jump at sky zone after and I didn't want her to throw up. The service was very attentive and friendly from every person working. My daughter wanted some chips to munch on and she got a little basket. The sauce choices are delicious and you cannot go wrong no matter what you choose. I got the fiesta burrito with chicken on a whole wheat tortilla with pinto beans this burrito is so filling and delicious and it taste healthier due to the tortilla choice. My daughter was very content with the customer service the food and all around. It was a great visit. We will be back in the near future.“
“Awesome Sunday brunch! $29 10am-2pm.Claudia was our waitress, she did an amazing job. She was friendly and provided great service.I filled up on the shrimp, prime rib, Chile verde and bottomless mimosas. It was SO good. They also have menudo, omlette station, lox, breakfast side's, desert station and Mexican breakfast foods.Parking: Free, big parking lot.“
“Great spot for lunch or any special ingredients you can’t find at other grocery stores. Fresh meat, salsa and spices of all kinds for any dish you want to make. I love the California burrito with carne asada, it is very flavorful and they give a huge portion.“
“Ordered a large catering nacho bar for my son's birthday party today. It was ready on time, everyone absolutely loved it, and we had more than enough food. It was so good! A wonderful employee went over the whole order to make sure it was all there and even helped me carry everything to the car. Fantastic service and delicious food!“
“Absolutely and positively the best breakfast spot anywhere in this area. We go here 3x a week and never miss a beat. They have amazing healthy options and their regular options are absolutely to die for. All the servers are beyond professional and absolutely 10/10 in serving and giving hospitality. This is a 5 star breakfast spot.“
“A really great seafood/Mexican restaurant in a semi-secluded lot. Glad to find a new seafood boil restaurant in Thousand Oaks. Saves me the drive go Calabasas or Ventura.I ordered the shrimp, $16.99/lb which is pretty standard, & it was really good. Being a fan of spicy food, I found the medium to be hot enough to enjoy but not too spicy at the same time. The menu is a collab of both Southern seafood boil & Mexican food. So you get the best of both worlds.I hope to see this restaurant stick around & think it should be a go-to on any foodies list.“
“I love the Clasico Burrito with carnitas and the hot salsa, the "Clasico" adds onions and cilantro versus the regular Carnitas burrito. The extra flavors really bring out the very delicious carnitas. But, if you like the mild side try regular Carnitas.“
“Staff was ready to assist and the service was great! Tables were clean and ready for people to sit and have their meal. The last place we went to tonight was the opposite. After waiting over 20 min we left and came to Sharkey's. Great job on Sharkey's managers and the staff was very nice!“
“This is the most delicious and authentic Mexican food in all of Conejo Valley. The prices are absolutely unbeatable and the food is unbelievably fresh. I'm pretty sure it is family owned (which I love) so of course the service is great. The first time I tried it I got takeout and they did a great job packing it up. The second time I ate there and it was delicious. 10/10 recommend“
“Doesn't look like much as You Drive By butDoesn't look like much as You Drive By but Please take the time to go in an order! Their food is absolutely delicious and it is family run. They are really nice people and we enjoyed meeting them and having our meal there!“
“This El Pollo local location not only has the best El Pollo Loco food, but also the best service! The people who provide the service at the Wendy Drive,, Newberry Park, El Pollo Loco location are the best!!! I called them during a very busy time at dinner, to do a pre-order for the morning. It was a large order. The lady, Blanca, who took my order, was so patient, very kind, and helpful. I always like going to this particular El Pollo Loco, the most because the people are great and they make the El Pollo Loco food the best! Thank you.“
“They used to have a covered outdoor patio but that got taken down but it looks like the place was remodeled recently because I don't remember it looking like this the first time. We visited during the pandemic as our first time and this was our second time back. We were greeted and the lady at the cash register was very friendly and pleasant. I didn't know if I should get the torta or a burrito. I always get a burrito so I decided to opt for the torta this time; it was a good choice. They loaded the torta up with fresh ingredients, including fresh cheese, and avocado, and they have the grilled onions on the side, which were delicious addition with a little bit of chips. I got horchata to drink, and it was very tasty. Perfect mixture. Overall, the establishment was very clean and there was plenty of sauces and sides to complement the dishes. The dishes or bag, and I would've loved for my boyfriend to share my torta, but he was too hungry and the food was too good. The customer service was top-notch and we would definitely return again.“
