My husband and I had a wonderful experience here for a quick flight while passing through town. The location is beautiful and clean. If you actually read the negative reviews several of them actually sounded a little unreasonable...just like big parties who probably should have just gone to Applebee's or something. This is great beer, a great vibe, and anytime we're in Turlock I'm sure we'll be back.
Been here several times and each time we had a great experience! Staff is always friendly and welcoming, food is delicious and of course they have a wide range of beers to fit everyone's taste! I recommend making a reservation in advance as they get packed quickly. Also I love the beer garden, and the cool and comfortable vibe there! If you want a different dining experience I highly recommend going to Dust Bowl in Turlock
Finally stopped in after seeing this spot off the 99. Did a little Sunday Funday with the hubby. Good craft beer selection, cool atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable customer service. If you are in the area you must stop by.
It was a really nice drive to Dust Bowl. Beer was good as always however the food was a little disappointing. Mac n Cheese was pretty bland. My husband made 2 changes to his burger and they completely messed it up. We will still go visit however we might not spend the amount of money on food the way we did with this visit.
Pleasantly surprised. When we went they were so busy that we needed reservations to sit inside, but luckily they had a beer garden. Huzzah! 20 solid beers on tap and a plethora of food options. We got the carne asada fries to share and man am I glad we shared! They were so good! Thick fries with varying textures and cheeses.
Beer is great, this is one of the breweries that got me appreciating craft beer. The food is worth the visit if you are not interested in beer. Ask for a pretzel bun on a burger their buns are top shelf. The coconut shrimp is a favorite of mine as well. Even something basic like the chicken strip meal does not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and and visit dustbowl brewery.
Came in this last Friday night with out of town guests parking lot was full, the Restaurant was also packed, we had called earlier in the day for reservations only to be told they were totally booked but they do still take walk ins, we came in and were greeted by Cheery young ladies at the desk and our name was put on the list and told it could be up to 45 minutes but after a short 20 minute or so we were seated and the fun begins, I don't drink alcoholic beverages but everyone else in our pastry does so they were all very entertained by the first, second and third rounds of beverages! We also had the Okie Nachos which I highly recommend, we ordered Dinner with beverage round four. One in our party had a very interesting Salad that was a special that night, it contained a very interesting assortment of fresh ingredients including a couple of fresh cheeses all of which escaped my ability to identify but my Daughter was extremely impressed with it saying it was absolutely delicious, most of the rest of us has the classic burger in various forms, I had the Cesar Salad which was outstanding, burger medium, prefect and very good even delicious with the red onion, tomato, lettuce and fantastic bun, I also had to try a cup of Chili, amazing with big chunks of steak! We all had a wonderful experience our server was very attentive and his assistant Fabio was so efficient checking on us and always seeing to our needs, even though the place was packed. I would say it's time to make Fabio a server he's the politest and most knowledgeable fellow on the beverages menu items, a real credit to the Dust Bowl and the quality of there employees they hire and train. Overall an excellent experience my guests were very pleased as Was I, remember ask to be seated in Fabio's section for outstanding service. Three days later my guests are still talking about the experience.
I travel through the area on occasion and do not live locally. As we were driving up, we were still able to call at 8pm and make a reservation for 4 to eat a late dinner without a wait. This is my second time at this location and first time eating a meal there. The beers are pretty tasty. They use to have a sour the last time I came here (like a year and half ago) that was phenomenal but I didn't see it on the menu. So I opted for something new, a Hazy IPA, and was not disappointed. The Hops of Wrath is great too. The food was really good. I love pretzels. LOVE them. I am a pretzel queen and snob. The pretzel sticks here are great. I have had better BUT the cheese sauce it comes with is by far one of the best ones I've had. You have to eat it while it's warm though or else it loses whatever magical essence they pour into it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I thought it was decent but didn't care for the fires or coleslaw it came with. The fires definitely require ketchup or cheese sauce. I think they put some of that godly cheese sauce on the sandwich too. We ate outside and although it was like 90 degrees at 9pm it was comfortable. It was busy but we didn't have any issues with service. They were very attentive and made sure we drank lots of water (because it was hot not because we were throwing back beers). This will definitely be my pretzels and beer stop when I am in town or passing through.
A wonderful venue with an excellent variety of beers and a killer menu that will always hit the spot. The pretzels here are highly reccomended, although you certainly can't make a mistake with any of the menu items.Be advised, this place can get incredibly busy and parking can be at a premium. Best advice: plan your visit and carpool if possible.
Was invited here for a beer, had the California gold ale. Must say pretty good, I am from Colorado and we have a generous choice of micro breweries that are phenomenal! But this place felt special the ambience was great outdoors and the pizza we ordered was delicious. Service was on point as well, keep up the good work! Will visit again and again!!
Awesome place. Pork belly sandwich was off the hook good. Great family place. I'll be back
Edit: just lowered it to one star instead of two after talking to my sister who paid for the meal. $400. FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS! 3 of us didn't have any beer, 2 only had kid meals. Would've been fine if it was good food and service. But greasy less than mediocre food and a waitress who was gone forever, and then we found her sitting at another table chatting and had to interrupt and call her over?! Maybe she knew she was going to get a $50 tip tacked onto the bill regardless so she didn't care about actually taking care of us. I don't know. What I do know is NEVER again. Our table was 4 separate households who love to eat out often and are okay spending the money usually. They lost 4 families of patrons that day. Original review: I went there with a larger group of people and sat on the covered patio. It wasn't nearly as hot as we were expecting thanks to the big industrial fans. (I've only sat indoors in the past.) We ordered beers and 4 appetizers to start. Nothing was outstanding, just your standard bar food. Coconut shrimp were flavorless, very different from the last time we ordered them. The wings were probably the best of the bunch. Everyone ordered something different for dinner (after needing to flag the waitress down to clear the appetizer mess and order more beers. She had been MIA for a while.) There were multiple burgers, fish and chips, pizza, asada fries, nachos, and a couple of kid meals. While we were impressed by the large servings, only 2 adults (classic burger and asada fries) and one child (grilled cheese) actually enjoyed their food. The nachos had a huge amount of sour cream even though my lactose intolerant father requested none, the chicken strips were overcooked and dried out, and everything else was just incredibly greasy. So much so that a couple of us went on an antacid search after a few bites. It was pretty disappointing food, but since we were there for a family birthday we felt it was best to grin and bear it. It had been a while since I was last there, and after this experience I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. We did grab the usual growlers on the way out minus the Taco Truck since they were out again. Oh, and I would recommend holding it if you need to use the restroom. The ladies was messy and there was water all over the place, and my husband said the men's was dirty too.
Made a reservation a week before graduation for 6 people for 7:00. 7:20 still not seated, I asked the hostess how much longer and she said tables are full so just waiting for people to leave I said ok and that we would need 2 more chairs because we had additional guests (nothing I could do about last minute guests). She said they could no longer seat us. As I looked out I saw a table of 8 that had just left and I said but you have a table of 8 right there she said it's reserved. So she said the only option is to sit in the beer garden, mind you there was empty tables and we were now at 7:30ish. So I said okay I guess if we can't get 2 extra chairs then fine. We go to beer garden, there's no servers, food is from the food truck I mean all over not having 2 extra chairs and having us wait a good 30 minutes past our "reservation time". We were going to leave but then my mom went and talked to them again and said this doesn't seem right for 2 chairs that you can stick on the end of the table and not blocking any exits and even though we have reservations for 6 we can split our party into a group of 6 and 2 just to get seated inside, this celebration is for a graduate and we had no idea getting 2 extra chairs added would be an issue. Well now at about 8:00 we magically got a 6 seat table with 8 chairs in the same area we were supposed to originally. When I went up to the hostess the first time mind you I was super nice just checking how much longer as I went and updated everyone I went back to tell her we would sit in the beer garden if we have to and she was talking about me to the other hostess "Well I told her sorry we can't seat you." I walked out of there feeling like I don't think I'll ever be back. I don't know if they were overwhelmed with people or what the issue was but to simply say sorry can't seat you anymore is ridiculous when there were tables that they could have just added 2 chairs to. This review isn't for our waitress or the food everything was great but just the fact that we got treated that way is really disappointing. Even a few days after my mom asked me why they treated us that way and the hostess and others were so nice to everyone else. I'm super understanding especially when we dine out because I know it isn't an easy job but definitely think the hostess and whoever she was talking about me to need to do better. After a year of not being able to dine out normally this was not how I thought we would be treated.
Vegan review:The main option for vegans is a burger with a substitute Beyond patty (or black bean burger but who does that?) and a vegan bun. Also make sure to request no cheese and no Dust Bowl sauce (thousand island dressing). That's pretty much the only vegan food one could ask for based on the menu, all other options would need to be negotiated with your waiter and I hate to be That Vegan, so -1 star.Outdoor seating late in the pandemic is nice and airy, and the beer & hard seltzer on tap are varied in style with a bias toward the lighter/hoppier end of the spectrum (their only stout tastes a lot like a Guinness.)
It was delicious! We were there for Mother's Day. A couple snafu's (they were quite busy) but the staff handled it promptly and professionally....most importantly, with a smile. The beer is pretty good too.
