“Visited December 3, 2023I was curious about this house because it was always crowded when I walked around Walnut Creek, but I stopped by because it was an anniversary.First of all, they mainly sell hamburgers, and the price is quite affordable. The patty was thick and cooked on a kitchen griddle, so it was warm and delicious. I also ordered buffalo wings, and the sauce was a bit spicy and had a strong spice flavor. “This is a casual place, very large with picnic type tables and a few booths. I ordered at the counter, paid by credit card, and paid the suggested 15 % tip. In retrospect, I should have just paid the bil in cash and left a small cash tip, since it was entirely self service. I was given a pager to notify me when my order was ready. Now for the best part, the food. I ordered the plain hamburger, fries, and a Pliny.draft beer. The food was very good. The hamburger came well done, which was fine by me. I don't know if I could have ordered it medium well done. The fries were crisp and dunkable in their very tasty ketchup. There is outdoor seating. I had a complicated order and she made sure our 1 to go order was made separately for a member of our party who joined us later. All the employees went above and beyond. “I recently had the pleasure of stumbling upon one of two outstanding hamburger joints...This one at the Palos Verdes Mall in Walnut Creek and the other one I hear on Oak Grove Road in Concord, is just as sensational... What captivated my attention when I walked in...was the sweetest and most attentive Asian waitress Sadonna, who could see I looked a little green and politely asked if she could help me and proceeded to find us a cozy table and made some great recommendations regarding the menu and what makes Mona's so special... First of all, when you come in the front door, there's a huge replica of the actual MONA LISA painting on the wall, along with some other, very cool signs and memorabilia, that take you out of the ordinary...into the extraordinary! What your humble narrator did not know, is that the reason this hamburger meat was so tasty is that it comes right from nearby Niman Ranch, where the cows eat better than I do...are only grass fed with no antibiotics and are never treated in any cruel or inappropriate fashion. I chose THE HAWAIIAN and my assistant chose MONA'S and we added a Big Basket of Skinny Fries and some refreshing Strawberry Lemonade!
