The 6749 (or as locals call it the 40) is one of the older more established beer bars (they also serve food) in Uptown Whittier. The scene here can be anywhere from college kids to older patrons enjoying a nice selection of taps and bottled beers. The atmosphere is very chill and inviting. Great DJ and incredibly eclectic playlist! Basic bar munchies - excellent cod tacos ?. Such fresh and refreshing local craft brews on drought - delightful al Fresca seating ???Parking: Nearby free parking garage, lovely walking around the area.

My hubs comes here after work for a beer + bite during the weekday. It's a low key, local peeps, local vibe dive and he always leaves happy ? The service is attentive and prompt w no attitude. It's family owned so maybe that's why. Good, honest, hard working customers just grabbing a brew after work and families grabbing a bite at night ?
