El Zarape is like an oasis for vegans in the meat-laden food desert of middle America. You will enjoy the vegan options on the menu without worrying one bit. They serve three vegan filler options for almost every dish on the menu and all three are awesome. My wife’s favorite was the chili verde and the chile colorado has a nice smoky flavor to it. Flavor was great, but beans and rice were just warm but taco was spot on. Margaritas were really great. Service was slow, thought about leaving after a 15 minute wait just to get water.

My experience was not bad. The menu didn't tell me what type of beans, rice or anything..and I did not ask (I probably should've, but i don't usually). The service was amazing, but the food was a bit disappointing. I ordered the Burrito Mojato, it had black beans in the burrito, and on the side.
