My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. He even more than I but I must say every time he talks me into Angelo's over any other pasta, I am VERY HAPPY with my meal. This place is a Denver staple really and is natives love you. Thanks for a great meal every time. DoorDash is great with this place too as all their food travels well leaving taste and texture intact.
Our waiter Jeremiah was Excellent , He recommended delicious dishes, we will comeback for more?
I always enjoy eating here. Definitely one of my personal favorites! The oysters and mussels are delicious. Good food, fair portions, and a fair price.
The atmosphere is pretty nice and they have indoor or outdoor sitting. Service and food was decent. Overall a good experience ?
Got take out from here and the pizza was kind of cold despite getting there right on time but it was still bomb.
We keep coming back because of the service and great food! Yet again, our server, Victoria (aka Veronica), was attentive, funny, and engaging! It's amazing to be able to come back again and again to have the same awesome service. It's so hard in today's world to keep great talent, but Angelo's has figured out the secret sauce!
I've been coming here for years and just wanted to give a shout out for my experience today. The food and drinks were phenomenal. Also Sloan was so accommodating and had the best attitude. She is such a kind soul and we loved having her seat us. Thanks to your whole team!!!
I'll start off by saying that I think the restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service has always been good. I really want to like it since it's a local place, but I've been three times, each hopeful it will be a different experience from the last, and I just don't think there is anything special about the food. The second time I went, I ordered the lasagna, which basically ended up just being a plate of meat and cheese without any noodles. The third time, I ordered chocolate cake for dessert, which is usually a huge win no matter what, and it was very dry. I don't think it's worth the price for the quality.
Went for our friends birthday and we had oysters, mussels and calamari. The calamari were way over cooked and the mussels had half of them not even open so we couldn’t eat most of them. We heard this place was great but sadly our experience was very poor on the food aspect.
We had the pappardelle bolognese, eggplant parmesan, roasted beet salad, calamari, and raw/original oysters. Everything was delicious. The pappardelle was handmade, so it's more enjoyable than boxed pasta. The sauce was on point, though I wish it had slightly more meat. The eggplant parmesan was good, although nothing noteworthy for or against the dish - it's one of those dishes that is hard to reinvent or make better once you had a good one. Roasted beet salad was light and was a great appetizer and lead up to a great meal. The prize goes to the calamari, which was sweet, yet had some heat to it. This was among the best renditions of calamari I've ever had. The crunch and texture of the calamari with the sweet and hot taste profiles were a surprise for the palate. TLDR; Good food and atmosphere. I highly recommend any of the dishes with handmade pasta. The calamari is unlike anything you had before; sweet and hot. This was a unique and great dining experience in Denver.
Really Nice and intimate atmosphere. We had the Garlic Cheese Bread which was amazing. We also got a pizza and the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. The Shrimp Fra Diavolo was spicy and it was very good. They also gave us fresh parmesan flakes to go with our meal. The salads were also good. We couldn't finish every thing because we were too full.
Angelo's is AMAZING. Their happy hour is unbeatable and they go above and beyond to adhere to COVID protocol. I have been coming here for years and they never disappoint.
Charcoal-grilled oysters here are to die for! We just can't get enough. The rest, very delicious! We always leave this restaurant very satisfied. Also, very affordable!
I have recently heard several people rave about Angelo's Taverna so I was excited to try it out. We went around 5:30 during the week. There was no wait, which was fortunate as they don't take reservations. I got the house Cabernet Sauvignon, which was average and reasonably priced, especially with the happy hour discount. For my entree, I had the lobster gnocchi. I was a bit disappointed with the actual pasta - the gnocchi was a bit rubbery/chewy for my taste. There was a good amount of lobster included. This dish really shines when it comes to the sauce - a lobster-tomato sauce that was definitely the highlight of the meal. Overall, I would say my experience at Angelo's was average. I was a bit disappointment given how hyped up this restaurant has been, but left with a decent dining experience.
Started with the fried oyster sliders. They were awesome! Ended with the eggplant parmesan. You usually never leave an Italian restaurant hungry but, the portion was pretty small and the spaghetti side was tiny enough that I could have counted the noodles in a few minutes. It tasted great but was a bit skimpy. Oh well. Didn't feel like venturing to the North Side so this is where I ended up for dinner. Service and taste were both amazing. Portions were straight out of the Lean Cuisine measuring system.
