Not sure where these bad reviews are coming from! The exec chef is from Monterrey and classically trained, the food is delicious especially the esquites and the shrimp taco. The house made salsas are delicious too as well as the cocktails and desserts.

Pretty disappointing. The pricing for what you get is rather silly. It felt like you're paying just to be part of a new, trendy way of dining. They did a lot to make the food look pretty but it it just wasn't very good. I had the chicken enchiladas and while the salsa topping was good, the chicken was over cooked and kind of like muck. A bright spot were the chips and salsa but that's not enough to carry the entire experience. Service was okay, not that attentive but friendly.I really just have no reason to go back here.

There are unfortunately way better and more affordable tacos to find in Denver. Because this restaurant is located in The Source, there's a premium on their pricing. Our group of five wanted to go get sushi at Temaki Den next door but there was a one hour wait, so we came here and were sat immediately (red flag? Not busy at all for a Friday night). We started with the guac appetizer for $12 - the guac was very bland and the size was very small, but I did appreciate the warm tortilla chips they came with. My husband and I split the taco platter which was a good amount of food for us, I left probably two halves. My favorite was actually the mushroom Al pastor, that was very flavorful. The shrimp taco was hot what I was expecting at all - it was more like a cheesy quesadilla which I don't love a bunch of cheese with seafood. The green sauce that came on the side was tasty. Most of the tacos were greasy and just felt heavy. Our table split a carafe of margarita for 4+ servings but I don't like the fact that the multi-size for drinks (ie 4 or 6 servings) was the same price of a normal marg x the quantity ie no cost savings for getting a bigger pitcher. Unfortunately wouldn't come back because this was nothing special.

We came here today with a couple of friends and it fell short. The service was okay but the enchiladas entrees were incredibly salty and inedible. It was such an unpleasant dinner. Honestly nothing remarkable. The source has amazing food spots, this is NOT one of them.

Interesting local, good modern Mexican food. Only downside: some of the arugula leaves were yellowish, something you’d not expect in such a nice place. Delicious churros!

Great ambiance and service. Shrimp taco was oustanding, and the frozen margaritas were refreshing and delicious. Mushroom taco wasn't as good as expected. Love the open kitchen!

Oh look, another "Mexican" restaurant in Denver that fails miserably and makes me not want to go back..or try another Mexican place in town. I'm telling you, most restaurants here do not know to cook very well, or season their food. It's disrespectful.Bellota gets you with the menu looking decent, but it's when you start tasting the food when you realize it's just another letdown on the Mexican food I know and love so much being one of my favorite cuisines to enjoy. The star of the show was the chips and salsa (smoky morita, spicy verde, chile de arbol) and that was it. And I'm not going back to a restaurant just for their chips and salsa I'm sorry. The esquites tasted like they scooped the corn out the can and threw some added ingredients on top to church it up, not impressed. The "queso fundido" dish was a crime to order and to try- I would never consider that to be queso but hey the ethnicity isn't really here in Denver either. I got two tacos for my entree and a side of "Mexican rice" that tasted like white rice, no joke. The carnitas taco wasn't bad, but the shrimp taco was the worst one I've ever had anywhere. ANYWHERE. It's a pathetic excuse for a taco throwing shrimp in a tortilla, melting the cheese and crisping it up. It is a lazy attempt from whoever designed the menu to include a shrimp taco item and it should be taken off or revamped as soon as possible.Ate there last night, woke up today feeling very ill. Thinking I caught food poisoning but it's not the first time in Denver, nor will it be the last sadly. If you been wanting to check this place out in The Source, just go ahead and scratch it off your list I just saved you some time, money, and from getting sick. I will not be back myself to try anything else from them.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted immediately. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Went for drinks and tried a few appetizers . Ordered chips and salsa which comes with 3 different salsas . 2 out of 3 were fantastic , one fell short was a bit bland . Moved on to the sweet potato wild fries that included carnitas . Wow! The carnitas were tender to perfection and blew me away . Also ordered some Paloma's to wash it down and they were tasty . Also ordered a mushroom taco and there was nothing basic about it ..loved it. Seasoned nicely and a nice fresh corn tortilla . Ended the late brunch with the churros . Will have to say that was the only reason I didn't give it a 5 . Churros were slightly over cooked but flavors were there . Will definitely stop by again if I'm near the source food hall in the near future !

We came in on a Friday night and it was totally dead. I think they're a relatively new business so hopefully it picks up. The food was pretty good, but be prepared to be nickeled and dimed here. We asked for a margarita and our server recommended "something not on the menu" which then ended up being almost double. Then we got chips and queso and she asked if we wanted flour tortillas or corn chips. We got chips and she bought over tortillas "for us to have anyways", and then charged us for them. Lastly she asked if we wanted sour cream, we said yes and it charged for that too. So I'd be super aware of that while eating there. Not a deal breaker, but be aware. The queso is good but everything there is way too expensive for what you get. The server was very nice, but probably came to check on us 20 times before we got our food and then never came back. Lol. But overall very very nice.We spent a ton and still left hungry. Would not come back, though it's definitely not the worst place you could go. Overall very okay.

Loved the atmosphere, a place to hang with friends and enjoy company. Ordered 2 enchiladas Rojo and green chili, very unpleasantly salty, but they deducted it off the bill. The carnitas were awesome!

Really just OK food. Service was pleasant and attentive but I just don’t understand the hype for this place. Shared plates are fine, but again, nothing outstanding to write home about. Shrimp taco was downright gross but all other entrees were serviceable. Would probably recommend the chili relleno if you happen to give this place a try.

A fair place for the price given it's environment, food and beverage. It's located in The Source Hotel and Market Hall facility. It was in Market Hall 1 and was a bit challenging to for us to locate. Even the security guard was unsure of it's location.Once located, the service was "friendly but inattentive" as previously reviewed. It took a couple of minutes for a hostess to come to the front and get us seated despite the restaurant being approximately 1/3 full. Our order for drinks was taken quickly and the house margaritas were pretty good. For appetizers we ordered chilaquiles and esquites (corn). The chilaquiles were good and the esquites mediocre. The corn itself was not particularly flavorful and/or overwhelmed by the seasonings. The carnitas and shrimp tacos were very good with great flavor and a couple of barbacoa less so.The cost with 2 diners was slightly north of $100 for 4 drinks, appetizers as noted and 5 tacos (only four actually ordered) . This included the price of food and drink, a 6% Community Value Charge(?), and added tip? This did not include parking of $8 in the garage which is clearly posted.Parking: Per their website and clearly posted in the garageThe Source offers a 300 stall garage on-site and additional short-term parking directly in front of the market hall.Self Parking Rates:1st hour - free2 hours $83 hours $164-24 hours $24 (Daily Max)Overnight $24A lost ticket will result in a charge of $25Guests must be 21+ to check in at the Source Hotel.
