We had just arrived in Denver and just happened to see an episode of Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins and this restaurant just happened to be featured. We hurried up and looked at the map and discovered it was literally three blocks away from where we were staying. We went in with the intention of getting the short rib sandwich that was featured, but upon ordering we were informed they didn't have any short rib and that it wasn't as good as their burger. A "dive" bar with great drinks and great food is about all you can ask for! We stopped in for a weekday night drinks and dinner. We had great conversation with the bartender and enjoyed our burger. No frills, no mess, just a flat out great beer and cocktail with a great burger. We will be back!!
I went to Prohibition for happy hour. Their happy hour menu has a few offerings that make it worthwhile. First, on a personal level, I enjoyed the ambiance. I can't stand loud bars at this point and come to bars for the conversation and Prohibition certainly offers that. Booths allow for many to hang out and converse. Even at happy hour, just the right amount of people and not overwhelming. As a result, strangely does have the feel of being a bar from another era. I do not drink....read full review
