I was looking forward to ordering from this Cafe based on their menu descriptions, for home delivery. I have never been so disappointed in what was delivered.... The Biscuits and Gravy should be called Hard Tack and Old School Paste. They were old and hard and the gravy was thick and flavorless. The Cafe Potatoes were over cooked and dry outside and still partially frozen on the inside! I don't mind paying a good amt of money for quality, but I will never waste a dime on this Cafe ever again. Maybe they use all their left overs for take out deliveries because you can't send it back...

The food was good, the service was bad. I had to ask for a refill on coffee twice while the restaurant was barely busy. . I asked for no bacon with my breakfast. They charged me for a full breakfast which normally I don't mind paying but the server also forgot my toast..... so in conclusion the eggs and potatoes were good but not worth the visit.

With the theme it would seem like a fun place to eat, although I am always let down when I come, the decor has not changed in prob 20 years with the same stuff on the walls and everything the same, tiles on the walls are broken and the place definitely needs an update BUT for what we are here for the food! It is your normal diner food nothing more, nothing less. It's pretty bland and basic with your diner classics like a BLT with fries costing 12.50 is a little steep, the biggest disappointment this visit was I don't know when but they changed their fries from the delicious battered and seasoned ones they use to have to the plainest ones you can find. That was the only reason I was excited to eat here and they got rid of them apparently, staff is nice but lacking something in attitude, you get diner feel from the decor and music but nothing else in the place. overall spending over 30 bucks (with tip) on 2 bland sandwiches I could easily make at home kinda sucks.

Cute Decor but they were out of a lot of the menu. The food was poor quality and it took them over an hour to get our food out when we were one of the only people in there

Great bagels and good coffee. Love seeing all the people there every morning chatting. It’s a real community center. Keep it up!

This used to be a great place. Good food, speedy service... However now with a new owner it has really gone downhill. Took us over an hour to eat lunch, with very few customers. We watched one older couple get up and leave because they hadn't received their food on over an hour. I ordered my favorite dish, a smothered green chili breakfast burrito and it wasn't very good. They changed the green chili and the tortilla was dry. Way disappointed that this once yummy restaurant is so bad now.

The owner refused to hire me due to my tattoos… great food. However I’ve never been so disrespected ever from place I applied to. I have a college education and all I wanted was a waitressing job…. Just being honest. I was discriminated against because I have tattoos. Shame on you. Just saying.

Absolutely horrible food. Super slow, cold food that was wrong. Waitress brought the plate said pot roast sandwich, I said no it was supposed to be brisket, waitress shrugged said it's meat on bread. It was too be slices of brisket, it was cold chunks of pot roast. Didn't finish the meal and had to ask it be removed from the bill. Won't be back. The first server mentioned that the brisket was sliced. The sandwich that was brought was not sliced or pulled brisket. It was literally cubes of meat, that were cold, inedible. The bread was soggy and inedible and cold, wasn't even lukewarm, and so were the fries. It appeared it had been sitting waiting to be brought to the table. Every single order had cold fries and the burgers were lukewarm. It took at least 35-40 minutes for the food to arrive at our table from order.

Stopped by on Saturday. Definitely was busy and we were willing to wait. Stood there for minutes while multiple employees completely ignored us. We understand the employee shortage, and being busy but someone could have said be with you in a minute. Nothing was said! This used to be a great place to eat as well. But looking at the recent reviews it has gone down the drain!

Terrible experience today. Completely bummed out about it. Our old server (who never told us her name) was lousy. Was not welcoming at all. We had to get up to ask for simple things that she never delivered and would make a LOUD sigh when we asked for a side of green chili or our check. When my 9 year old asked her if they had smoothies, she rudely replied, “No. We are a 50’s diner”. Food wasn’t anything amazing either. My husband was floored how bad the service was.

First time going there. There was confusion between the waitresses about who was going to help us. Not a big deal. Ordered our food, no problem. 40 minutes later, still no food and hadn't seen our waitress in 20+ minutes. Another waitress saw that we still had no food and went to check on it. Anyway, finally got our food 45 minutes after ordering-- cold and had been sitting for a while. We had to ask for our check and our waitress finally showed up. Will not be back.

Always went here for lunch. Tried breakfast and never again. Waited forever when we finally got our breakfast it was ice cold. Eggs were cooked hard when I asked for over easy. French toast ice cold and no flavor at all. Done going here for food now.

Waited and hour for a table then another hour for food. Ran out of hamburgers and no sauce for a Monte Cristo. The friendliness of the staff and their apologies were the only reason we did not walk out.

We believe in supporting local businesses, especially now when they need us the most. Best place around for breakfast. We ALWAYS eat breakfast here when we are in Grand Junction. The atmosphere is awesome '50s diner style. Peggy Sue has never let us down with her quick wit either. Stop in and have your picture taken with Elvis!!

Nostalgia window of minimal value. The 50's entertainment retro memorabilia makes Main Street Cafe worth the trip for some who are still tripping on Marilyn Monroe and Elvis to an extent that they are disengaged from live current values. Good green chili, great malts, breakfast all day if they can retain staff to support the kitchen and front of house requirements to keep it up. They have staffing issues that seem anchored in management issues. I have eaten here on occasion since before the turn of the millennium and have an amount of loyalty to our shared silver screen and music background. As today's times become more testing of both true grit and of real values, goopy love to past entertainers of very mixed personal characters doesn't do much good. Billy Graham preached from 1947-2005. He is just one of many examples of a better, much televised retro hero if you want one. Billy offered something dependable and represented our greater national ethic; businesses powered by faded show stars can only hope to work out their tangles. Best to renew the messaging and theme so customers and staff alike receive greater vitality through the establishment's environment. You can't tune a team while the foundation is slipping.
