The place is a little dated, but do not let it fool you.Do not expect fancy or gourmet, but expect traditional diner food with some Mexican (or Coloradan) fare as well. The staff is kind and pleasant which for me is always nice to find since it seems to be so rare these days.Finally, the prices feel reasonable when compared to McD’s these days. So overall a solid dining experience.Parking: Usually there is plenty of parking close to the entrance.Kid-friendliness: Good portions in their limited kids menu, but very flexible with serving combinations of anything on the menu to fit a kids hunger.“
“Hits the Spot Diner is a good place for great tasting diner fare. The place could use a face lift... it's looking kind of old and sad, but the food is spot on. I had the chicken fried steak skillet. Gravy and plenty of it covering two eggs, the aforementioned steak and home fries, all excellent. My other half had French toast, also very good!!The service was good, not great... but definitely friendly. They are always busy, with a wait time for peak hours... but if you want good food, you're willing to wait!!“

“We were in dennys on union blvd in Lakewood. Our waitress wheezy was awesome she made sure our food came out hot and checked on us regularly. Now that’s good service I appreciated wheezy. “According to our waiter Paul, who happened to do a damn good job, this particular Denny's got a million dollar overhaul and it shows. They must have overhauled something else too because it came as a surprise how much better the food tasted, The Omelette had extra mushrooms like I asked for, the bacon was extra crispy just the way my wife likes it, the place with short-handed like all places but I have to say Paul the waiter did damn good job.“

“The waitress was very nice and funny. The food came out fast and was delicious. My mom left her purse at the restaurant and they tried to run it out to us but we left too quickly. “This hit the spot! I was really craving chicken fried steak, so my partner came across Breakfast Palace in their search. The restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall that's unassuming, down-to-earth, and not the sort of exterior that makes you think their food would be very good. But the food is delicious for what it is: hearty breakfast/diner food for a great value! My chicken fried steak was absolutely smothered with country gravy, which is my personal preference, but people who don't appreciate their meat drowning in gravy should probably note that. My partner's French toast and breakfast plate was fairly standard breakfast food but satisfying. They have specials running Monday-Fri, the food is on the affordable end, and service was friendly and attentive. There is a lot of space for bigger groups and families, and the tables are well spread out. I'll likely come back here whenever I'm craving some good chicken fried steak. Parking: they have their own lot.“
“Wow, I almost forgot this place existed. I had not been here for close to two decades. Back in the day, it was one of my places to go get a beer and some wings. And, despite the gentrification, some would say improvement, of the general neighborhood around here, it still is. Not much has changed. Pretty much still the same interior, and the menu has not varied much over the years, at least in my fuzzy memory. I popped in here after a movie at the nearby AMC theater a couple months back. Again, the beer was still cold, the service was still great, and the wings were still pretty darn good.“
“Both the wife and I had the chicken fried chicken (sausage gravy) with eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. It was amazing. Service is great. It has the "Old School Diner" feel going on 50's and 60's. Inside is clean and very well taken care of. You can tell the employee's all take pride in their work. The prices are right on par with what you get. This was my second time here and my experience was just as great as the first time. I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer. I highly recommend.“
