We were staying at the Grand but made reservations just in case- 4 adults and two young children. The hostess was a bit slow in acknowledging us, but once we were seated our server was much more attentive. Salads were good, but food was overly salty. Mushroom risotto was almost inedible and French fries were fine once dipped in ketchup. First the good, the food was excellent, our party of 10 had all the appetizers and then both steaks and seafood and all of us were pleased with quality. Additionally the wine list while short had all the usual suspects like Duckhorn and Prisoner so we knew we would not be disappointed. Service however was lacking and our server struggled. I've read the reviews before heading to the Cabin for dinner. I had been aware of the service issues but took my chances and besides I had a Steamboat gift card I need to spend, so we went. The place was 3/4 empty and it felt like we came way ahead of our time but it was 7pm. That didn't bother us.
