“What a pleasant surprise! We are traveling on a ski trip and booked a hotel in Sterling on the way. We had to find dinner and ended up seeing the brewery while on the way to the place we’d selected and decided to stop a take a look and were impressed, so we ended up staying to eat. I cannot say enough about the friendly people, the beer, and the food. Truly some of the best I’ve had anywhere. We will make it a point to stop on our way through on future trips.”

“If you’re ever traveling through sterling, this place is worth the stop. The staff is very welcoming and provides excellent customer service. The food is made fresh and very reasonably priced. They have a salad bar, great selection of sandwiches and delicious ice cream. A local favorite.”

“We really enjoyed our meal. There were simple items for the kids and flavorful authentic dishes for us.The chips and salsa were delicious, and it is a mild smoky salsa. They also served us a cheesy refried bean dip.An excellent place to stop for lunch or dinner.”

“I wanted ribs and glad I got there when I did. I got the last 1/4 rack. Along with the pulled pork, brisket and homemade slaw. It was exactly what wanted. Everything was delicious. Almost felt like I was back home in the South. The staff was definitely very polite and a joy to eat dinner there while I am away from home.Thank you guys for my wonderful dinner”

“Think Mexican Subway with a walk through line as you customize your order. The staff was friendly, place was not busy, and they have glass-bottled Coke! I don't care for the set up of their tables as they are very close together, and the bases of their tables are quite large. I had only a small order of chips and queso, and their queso is sooooo good. I think this is an often missed eatery, and it's worth the stop.”

“I've never met a place more understanding and all around amazing. There is a lovely lady that I believe goes by the name of Jasmine. She does the orders for the Sterling correctional facility which is a great program that they're working with so that I'm able to feed my dad some outside food who is doing a lot of time. Anyway this Jasmine lady is more amazing than my own friends and family. I thought I was running into a deadline of ordering a pizza in time. Jasmine made it possible for me to order a pizza for my father who is an inmate. It's really great to know that I can go in there and expect The friendly environment that she sets and come out with the most amazing feeling in my soul and heart. I hope that they never let her go she is amazing. We need more people like her in our everyday life.”

“Wow I am impressed. The egg soup thick with egg and tofu and lil celery. Hesitant but ordered twice pork. Lots meat all lean cuts! Fresh veggies! Spice level perfect. Amazing portions. Get the dinner with soup egg roll and crab wonton for about $15 and plenty left for my lunch tomorrow. The service was great. Very friendly staff. Hope to try the lunch buffet sometime. Wish this place was closer to Fort Collins”

“The old Hot Spot was just a few blocks away so we went there a lot. Always the ribs, fries, cheese curds, once in awhile the pulled pork nachos. Staff always does a fine job. Just went to the new Hot Spot last night. I decided to try the brisket grilled cheese. Disappointed that it wasn't on sourdough (the best bread for grilled cheese) and it really should be cheddar which compliments bbq meat much better than American, plus a breaded onion ring on there would be good. Wife stuck to tradition and ordered the ribs. They were good, but a smidgen dry which only happened once before in countless visits. Could've been that cow. The BIG disappointment was the fries?. They switched from the classic crispy krinkle fries (THE BEST!) to McDonald's fries. Go back to the correct fries and I'll put the 5th star back up there.”

“Sam&Louies lunch today. Quick service. Servers were attentive and friendly. Food was out in 10 minutes and they were relatively busy. Food was delicious!!! Lunch menu is from 11am to 3pm and portion was just right for me! Thanks guys!”

“I don't normally leave reviews, but Jaycellia was super attentive and kind. We traveled for a basketball game and stopped after to grab a bite to eat. Having a gluten allergy, Jaycellia went out of her way to make sure that I was accommodated. Thanks for the amazing service!!!”

“Place was rock solid. Food was great. 4 stars due to having some intestinal issues the following morning. Along with charging 3.29 per kids drink when each child ordered off kids menu.”

“I am from California so I am always on the hunt for authentic Mexican food. El Jacal Mexican Grill delivers on that! I love their enchiladas and if you order a margarita - be ready for a lush overflow of tequila goodness. We have ordered to go as well as eaten in the restaurant and I can't complain! Definitely a well-loved family business and this CA girl appreciates all the chips and salsa you have to offer :)”
