Restaurantji presents Branford's standout Mexican dining destinations.
“Great tequila list! Wish we could have mixed/matched the tacos, but with a group, we were able to do that anyway. The salsa flight was delicious, but the spiciest could have been spicier. Bring it on!!! The tres leches was wonderful as it wasn't too sweet. The churros beignets were a little heavy and I was hoping for just churros, which I feel are generally lighter. But the rest of my party disagreed.“
“I wish I took pictures of everything. I got the lemon cilantro swordfish from the specials menu, my boyfriend and his friend's wife got some sort of mole meal from the specials menu, and his friend got the crab cakes - all absolutely delicious! Awesome chips and salsa too! The salsa verde is my favorite! Great little hole in the wall.“
“This place is a hidden gem in Branford for Mexican food enthusiasts; it's a must-try! The service is always great--we get the same waiter every time, and he's on top of his game. Moreover, the food consistently earns a five-star rating“
“On the evening shift of 10/11/23, the entire staff was incredible! They worked so hard! I made the decision to wait for the carne asada to be made! So worth the wait! But what was so sad to see was the customers being so rude to these employees who were working so hard! The line was out the door. While I waited some time, I would do it again without any doubt! Management needs to read this review and reward every single person who worked from 6:30pm onward! Just know I am so grateful for you all! Just know people in town appreciate you! Thank you again!“
“I live in Branford, CT but work in NY, so I see my share of Taco Bell's during the course of a week I must say that the one of my town ranks as one of the best. What's sad is that you have workers that are disgruntled because they are known to steal food and get COVID tests every week so that they can get out of work for a few days. Those kind of lies should never be tolerated. Honest reviews should be given on Google - from ACTUAL experience.“
“Tired of running errands up and down Dixwell? Slow down and stop in to this family-owned gem with the Mexican best food in the greater New Haven area. This review potentially risks my being able to get a table a favorite spot. It’s that good.“
“It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. Next time I'm in New Haven, I'd be sure to come back here to have those tacos again.“
“It was awesome. Great view and yummy food. I highly recommend everyone to try them out at least once. I will definitely come here again in the near future. Loved the food and music.Parking: There was plenty of free parking when I went. Street parking.“
“We came here on a Friday night and had the place to ourselves which was a shock after eating some phenomenal tacos with great service! We had the carnitas, birria, and asada tacos with a side of chips and salsa, and loved every bite! If we are ever back in New Haven we will be back!“
