“A gem in this pretty town! Ordered white clam pizza and cheese pizza. Pizza's crust was thin and fragrant. Both pizzas were fantastic. Cheese pizza was not too salty and tasted just perfect. White clam pizza was just so good too. Staff were also friendly and setting was very casual. Hope to be back!”

“First, I don't normally like chocolate flourless cake. It tends to be dense and dry so not worth the calories. But this ...this cake...is everything. It's smooth and silky...unless you're allergic, you have to eat this. Your mouth will thank you! The cheesecake is light and whippy, and not too sweet, and the fruit are fresh and happy just sitting there on top with powdered sugar. You must eat have it!!”

“In CT, we are so lucky to be blessed with a million great pizza options- Brickside Pizza is among them in this area for sure! Great little takeout spot with big flavors! We got the Sunday Dinner with meatballs, ricotta and sauce. We also tried the prosciutto arugula pie as well! They are stocked with plenty of fox on park sodas as well to grab on the way out!”

“We got the spicy Italian panini. Large , Excellent and reasonable price. Sweet welcoming staff, fast efficient service. Don't be discouraged by the amount of people waiting for their order. They put order out quickly and everything is fresh. There is a lot of parking. It is a takeout. A couple bench inside and a pick-nick table outside. We will go back .”

“The blue hound is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great food, with a creative southern menu, solid prices, and friendly service. Parking can be a tad tricky but I have always been able to find a spot.”

“I was so excited to go to Sweet P's during our trip to Essex, especially after hearing they use Ashley's ice cream! We were greeted so kindly! I ordered lemon graham and salted caramel on a waffle cone. Both flavors were amazing, but man, was that lemon something special! We really enjoyed everything! This place is a must when visiting Essex.”

“Had a great date night. Service was good, we enjoyed the chowder, steak, and tacos (we had steak, chicken, and fish). The bacon wrapped scallops are good but a little overpriced in my opinion, i think it was $18 for 4. We enjoyed our meal and would go back.”

“Came down with friends for a few drinks and Sea Shanty Night. Good drinks at fairly reasonable prices. The singalong is always a good time. Come early to get a spot, place is small and fills in quickly.Parking: Plenty of parking on a Monday night in the off season, but weekends and peak season is a completely different story”

“We stopped in on spur of the moment decision after taking a walk in Essex. We thought it would be fun to take a short water taxi ride to the Siren Restaurant.The waitress Erin was fantastic. Friendlyprofessional and couldn't have been nicer. We each had a drink and split a calamari appetizer (we were going to have dinner at home about an hour so later). Calamari was as good as it gets. “Awesome location, clean, locally owned very very nice owner. My husband has been coming here for years for lunches. In addition to being a nice local he really cares about our health and safety. This is a small very tight store, he doesn't allow people coming in without masks on. The store is frankly too small for that BS.”

“It's not Ichiran, but the Tonkotsu ramen honestly comes quite close (for me). For the middle of Connecticut where there's a major lack of good choices of ramen, this place hits the spot. “Love this spot. It gives Cape Cod vibes on the coast of CT--truly quintessential New England. It's majorly clean with plenty of seating inside and out. Beer options are plentiful and the IPAs (my favorite) were phenomenal and may be one of the best I've tried in a long time. They have the beautiful color down-- I knew before tasting it was going to be lovely. The food menu is plentiful and there are plenty of options for all tastes. This is the perfect stop after the beach or really any time. I'll be back again and again and can't wait to come here in the warmer months.”

“I am not from this area, but I stumbled upon this little coffee shop in my travels. I was warmly greeted, and they took my order immediately (this was 11am so not a rush hour for a coffee shop) and they made me one of the best lattes I've ever had. Had great flavor, and was nice and hot. About the same price point as Starbucks, but worth every penny to support a local shop. I would recommend a stop here!”
