“A gem in this pretty town! Ordered white clam pizza and cheese pizza. Pizza's crust was thin and fragrant. Both pizzas were fantastic. Cheese pizza was not too salty and tasted just perfect. White clam pizza was just so good too. Staff were also friendly and setting was very casual. Hope to be back!”
“First, I don't normally like chocolate flourless cake. It tends to be dense and dry so not worth the calories. But this ...this cake...is everything. It's smooth and silky...unless you're allergic, you have to eat this. Your mouth will thank you! The cheesecake is light and whippy, and not too sweet, and the fruit are fresh and happy just sitting there on top with powdered sugar. You must eat have it!!”
“In CT, we are so lucky to be blessed with a million great pizza options- Brickside Pizza is among them in this area for sure! Great little takeout spot with big flavors! We got the Sunday Dinner with meatballs, ricotta and sauce. We also tried the prosciutto arugula pie as well! They are stocked with plenty of fox on park sodas as well to grab on the way out!”
“We got the spicy Italian panini. Large , Excellent and reasonable price. Sweet welcoming staff, fast efficient service. Don't be discouraged by the amount of people waiting for their order. They put order out quickly and everything is fresh. There is a lot of parking. It is a takeout. A couple bench inside and a pick-nick table outside. We will go back .”
“The blue hound is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great food, with a creative southern menu, solid prices, and friendly service. Parking can be a tad tricky but I have always been able to find a spot.”
“We loved our lunch time meal. My husband ordered the hamburger and I hit the lunch special quesidilla. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great!!! We will be back in May to eat here again!!!”
“The beer was very good, the bartender was friendly and provided great service and explained all the different beers they had and made some great recommendations. The wings were very good, as was their special of day- sausage platter and pretzels. We highly recommend it and will return!”
“Excellent customer service, food is good, love that they have a quieter dining area downstairs and a pub like atmosphere upstairs, so there’s something for everyone. definitely recommend going there!”
“Great coffee (I got the dark roast) and hot chocolate, amazing village vibe and colonial architecture. Essex is great in general and worth a trip.Parking: There is a public parking lot up the street to the west.”
“I was so excited to go to Sweet P's during our trip to Essex, especially after hearing they use Ashley's ice cream! We were greeted so kindly! I ordered lemon graham and salted caramel on a waffle cone. Both flavors were amazing, but man, was that lemon something special! We really enjoyed everything! This place is a must when visiting Essex.”
“Had a great date night. Service was good, we enjoyed the chowder, steak, and tacos (we had steak, chicken, and fish). The bacon wrapped scallops are good but a little overpriced in my opinion, i think it was $18 for 4. We enjoyed our meal and would go back.”
“Spring is here and time for some great tasting ice cream of Scoops Ice cream. Many super flavors to choose from and top it offs with great tasting toppings. A must stop in Centerbrook. Pete”
“This restaurant was behind God's back ?... But honestly it had some really good food and the service was impeccable. They have really good homemade Chinese duck sauce. Both the dishes that I got there were made to perfection.”
“Came down with friends for a few drinks and Sea Shanty Night. Good drinks at fairly reasonable prices. The singalong is always a good time. Come early to get a spot, place is small and fills in quickly.Parking: Plenty of parking on a Monday night in the off season, but weekends and peak season is a completely different story”
“Not inexpensive, but the tap room is excellent and the Ruben sandwich and the short ribs sandwiches are wonderful.Food & drinks: Always good food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Always a pleasure to visit for food, drinks, and a walk about town.”
“Great staff, great food, the baked beans were out of this world overall a great place to pick up a quick fresh, hearty sandwich and have your taste buds blown away.... can't wait for my next stop”
“We stopped in on spur of the moment decision after taking a walk in Essex. We thought it would be fun to take a short water taxi ride to the Siren Restaurant. The waitress Erin was fantastic. Friendlyprofessional and couldn't have been nicer. We each had a drink and split a calamari appetizer (we were going to have dinner at home about an hour so later). Calamari was as good as it gets. We plan to stop back for dinner in the next few weeks. Beautiful setting and look forward to returning.Ben and Rosemary FigueroaMadison, CT”
“Awesome location, clean, locally owned very very nice owner. My husband has been coming here for years for lunches. In addition to being a nice local he really cares about our health and safety. This is a small very tight store, he doesn't allow people coming in without masks on. The store is frankly too small for that BS.”
“Absolute favorite restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is amazing. The drinks are amazing. The atmosphere is ridiculously lovely. Would definitely recommend!Vegetarian options: They happily accommodate dietary restrictions. I have brought vegetarian and vegan friends here who have had no problem finding really tasty things on the menu.Dietary restrictions: They are happy to accommodate any allergies. I brought my good friend here who is allergic to nuts and they were very accommodating and helpful.”
“We had an excellent experience. everyone was welcoming. Great choices on the menu, the food was brought promptly, well prepared, wait staff was attentive. Had the Mystic oysters for appetizer, they were amazing. We will be back again !”
“It's not Ichiran, but the Tonkotsu ramen honestly comes quite close (for me). For the middle of Connecticut where there's a major lack of good choices of ramen, this place hits the spot. It's also fast: I ordered, ate, and left within ~25 minutes. Will absolutely be coming back!Vegetarian options: Ask for replacements”
“Absolutely the best pizza I have ever had, these guys and girls know their stuff, if you love pizza then go here to meet your pizza soul mate because you will be in heaven with the first bite...!!Kid-friendliness: We brought our grand child there his name is Otto and they gave him a free t shirt ...who does that these days ....?”
“Love this spot. It gives Cape Cod vibes on the coast of CT--truly quintessential New England. It's majorly clean with plenty of seating inside and out. Beer options are plentiful and the IPAs (my favorite) were phenomenal and may be one of the best I've tried in a long time. They have the beautiful color down-- I knew before tasting it was going to be lovely. The food menu is plentiful and there are plenty of options for all tastes. This is the perfect stop after the beach or really any time. I'll be back again and again and can't wait to come here in the warmer months.”
“Oh man this place never disappoints best honey maple latte I ever had oh and that strawberry coffee cake....Just wow might have to take up baking because that was amazing ”
“We visited Al Forno for Dinner and were Pleasantly Impressed by the Food, Service, Desserts right down to the Cappachinos !!Ben and his staff were Outstanding and we really enjoyed our evening, it was a very nice Food Experience and we will return with Friends and Family to share the same Nicely Done Ben !!!??”
“I am not from this area, but I stumbled upon this little coffee shop in my travels. I was warmly greeted, and they took my order immediately (this was 11am so not a rush hour for a coffee shop) and they made me one of the best lattes I've ever had. Had great flavor, and was nice and hot. About the same price point as Starbucks, but worth every penny to support a local shop. I would recommend a stop here!”
“Everything is vegan and gluten-free. Some are nut and soy free.Had the roasted veggie pizza with two different cheeses. My wife had the Mexican bowl. Both loaded with flavor and lots of fresh veggies and fruits. Every bite was a little taste of heaven and very filling.Got baked goods. I'll try later.Staff is very friendly and enthusiastic.Live music Saturday afternoons.Lots of local artists selling their creations in the store. Bought a gorgeous butterfly bracelet. Great prices!Vegetarian options: 100% veganDietary restrictions: 100% dairy free and gluten-free. Nut and soy free dishes labeled.Parking: Easy to park”
“Aside from the fact that this is a beautifully secluded little spot, their offerings are delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Fox Farm instantly became one of my top favorite places to visit in the New England area. Their Burst IPA is addictive.”
“I try to treat myself to their sandwiches once a week. As a native of New Haven area this is the only place that reminds me of the Italian delis at home. There sandwiches never disappoint and a great gem in the deep river area!”
“It was a wonderful experience! The decor is cozy and beautiful. The Lobster bisque was AWESOME! We were celebrating three birthdays and they brought each of birthday people desserts—so kind!♥️?”
