“Jack's was recently featured on channel 3. We are big breakfast folk, so a 35 minute drive from Manchester on a sunny (cold) morning to see if the restaurant was as good as it was supposed to be was very feasible for us. In a small stip mall in Higganum, we found Jack's. Clean & inviting inside, there was a short wait which we expected (due to the publicity on TV) We looked for someone taking names (to be seated), however seeing no one, we asked one of the locals waiting and was told they just eyeball the people waiting & seat them in order of when they arrived. Within a few minutes, we were seated in a comfortable booth. All the servers were really nice. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. Coffee poured - not bad, though not quite as strong as I like it. I had 2 slices of cinnamon French toast served with cinnamon butter. So good!!! My husband had an omelette which he said was really good too. And prices were extremely reasonable. You could tell this was a great local place, but with the channel 3 publicity, many out of town folks were discovering Jacks's. As we told our waitress, we will be back. And she said she will be looking for us”

They have only ONE HANDICAP parking space which anyone will use! Also the drive-thru is horrendous!!! You have to go around another building's parking lot and go to that building's rear to get into line for the DD drive-thru! What idiot thought this was a good setup!!!!”

“Sal worked with us for my grandsons baptism party. The roast beef was tender and flavorful. Lemon chicken was amazing. Roasted vegetables with hot peppers, WOW! Roasted potatoes, fantastic! “I haven’t been to Deb’s in a while, but dropped in on my way home from the airport. I was greeted like an old friend. I treated myself to the Country Fried Steak with Sausage Gravy breakfast. Outstanding…the best Country Fried Steak this side of Oklahoma. I’ve never seen so much sausage in gravy as I had today. I plan on treating myself more often. Mark me.”

I believe Back Again Cafe proves itself to be a great central hub location to meet friends, dates, and family for great snacks, drinks, and games! My friends and I like to meet to play MTG. Friendly and helpful staff, and a terrific space with high ceilings and large windows for people watching.”

“I fell in love with Birria tacos recently during a visit to TX, so I was really looking forward to trying this food truck. It was a big disappointment. $32 for three small tacos and a quesadilla? They didn’t even include the consome which is a signature part of the Birria experience. You had to pay extra for it. We asked if they had any chicken or shrimp options, which are listed on their website…nope. Just beef, which was pretty bland. Sorry, wanted to like ya, but one and done.”

“Went with some friends… 3 adults and 1 toddler. Seating is comfortable and they have high chairs for the kids. Pros: Service was great a very friendly staff. The food was amazing and fresh! Highly recommended. Everything was so fresh and presented nice on the plates. Cons: food took over an hour to get to our table- they seem to have a good pick up/carry out orders which could be why it takes awhile. If you are all adults and have time to relax then it’s perfect- if you have kids I recommend you order take out.”

“I want to start the review by saying that I do have a background in culinary being an executive chef for many years and now teaching culinary.My wife and I decided to try this place for dinner and we're not disappointed. In fact, we had a great experience!I want to also say that everything there is made in house, using quality products, including the rolls for the sandwiches. My wife and I split a rigatoni Bolognese to start. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the meat sauce was authentic and delicious. Next we had a meatball calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. The dough was so good as I was cutting pieces with the meatball and cheese making like little sandwiches, I can honestly say it was great! We also ordered a pizza which is made thin crust nice bubbles coming out of the oven, beautifully brown on the bottom crispy crust. The tomato sauce and cheese of a high-quality as well as the other toppings. I would rate this pizza, an 8.8 out of 10. Leaving room for the pizza meccas In New Haven. If you don't want to drive an hour, I recommend you try the pizza here! I had to try a half an order of shrimp scampi, the shrimp were done perfectly not overcooked, linguini was al dente, and the sauce is about as good as I've ever had, capers, sliced fresh garlic, lemon. I also ordered an Italian cold cut grinder to go with plenty of mortadella, capicola, salami, and pepperoni reminiscent of Franklin giant grinder in the south end of Hartford. I planned on reviewing the restaurant so we also have lunch tomorrow! It's a gem in Cromwell that shouldn't be missed!”

Such an amazing hidden gem in Middletown, I usually buy pints to keep me happy through winter when they close. Great customer service, clean store inside, a variety of options, and they give you a lot for the cost. Vecchittos has my heart.”

“Eggs Up continues to be the best breakfast place in town. The food is always excellent and they have a great variety on their menu along with good specials. The only downside is that it is a very small restaurant and seating is very limited. During peak times there will usually not be a table free and you may have to wait a while until there is one available. If the crowd waiting is outside the door, you may be better off just finding somewhere else to go unfortunately.”
