Mae Kong is a great littleThai restaurant . The owner cares about her food and it shows . It is a small place tasteful but simple atmosphere . I have eaten here for many years . It is one of the few restaurants in downtown New Britain that has withstood the rest of time. While many others have come and gone Mae Kong survives. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this establishment. The decor is inviting and fun. The servers and the owner both work the floor and are friendly and efficient. What really sets this restaurant apart is the food. I got the calamari appetizer, and it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. I also got the rice noodle soup (pho). The broth was rich and flavorful. Got the drunken noodles. Ordered at the counter. Food was ready quickly. Noodles were flavorful and cooked well. Seems to be a popular lunch spot based on how many people were eating.
