I'm not going to say much. There are 3 Spanish restaurants around where I reside. The further one is 5 minutes walking. In Fair Haven and I drive 15 minutes to Caliente. The food in Caliente is super good. The atmosphere, food, and the staff they are super.
Good food but staff doesn't understand much English so it's often hard to communicate and I do not like the little plastic bowls they put your food in...I should have a choice of what container I would like the food I pay for in!Vegetarian options: Not a lot of vegetarian options

Visiting home and stopped by Caliente Deli on a whim! I'm from New Haven and didn't know this spot existed. My next visit will be intentional! Food was awesome and flavorful!! Pork chunks, stewed chicken, rice &beans, plaintains.... wonderful! Customer service made food even better! A must visit spot when I come back home.
