“===== RATING: A ===== and the Mystry is solved! The hidden South Asian gem right in the heart of New Haven is no other than Mystry Indian Kitchen. We came within the first couple of months of it opening and now it's become my new favorite Indian restaurant in New Haven, topping other New Haven household names like House of Naan, Sherkaan, and Zaroka's. === [FOOD: 9/10] === The garlic and garlic cheese naans are BOMB. The cheese is gooey and pairs perfectly with any of their curries. Their dosa is HUGE. Samosas are super tasty: the right amount of crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Portions are perfect and everything comes out piping hot! Mango lassi is sweet and not too yogurt-y. Only thing I don't love is that the chutneys are very watered down, but the flavor is definitely there. === [VIBES: 7/10] === Our service was average, nothing super notable. They played some lit Bollywood / S. Asian music and had some cute decor for Valentine's day. Cutlery and plates were a classy copper tone. It's not usually too packed when we go, but traffic here is definitely creeping up every time I stop by. I cannot wait for this place to pop off because they totally deserve it. P.S. someone send me their playlist“
“This place is the best! I order here often as I work around the corner and the food is always seasoned to absolute perfection, as well as having really solid portion sizes. Wow tikka will have you saying Wow with great service and awesome delicious food“
“Excellent Indian fusion. The masala sauce alone may be the best I’ve had. Would strongly recommend. The chicken and waffles is fantastic and the bowl was also amazing. The masala sauce was king though. I work nearby and this will be a new go “
“This was a first visit to House of Naan for my wife and I, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We ordered onion bhajis, naan bread, and chicken Madras and Jalfrezi. The level of heat is to order, and my wife had the mild Jalfrezi while I upped the spice a bit on my dish. Both were excellent, and the bhajis were crisp and well seasoned. The portions were large enough to leave enough for lunch the next day. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the kheer or a mango lassi, but I left more than full. Next time!“
“Sooooo good. Just had to get an understanding of their spiciness scale. I like to order in between hot and Indian hot. The staff were very helpful and attentive and we had a great chat with the owner Mahesh. Can't wait to go back to try their chicken wings next time!“
“Favorite Indian food in New Haven.Note: I’ve always ordered off the menu. Mostly because I eat there for dinner (no buffet offered). I think I was there once for lunch, but the buffet didn’t have some of my favorite items, so I just ordered from the menu.“
“I had driven by Sitar for about 7 months now and finally decided to give it a try on a rainy day. I am an avid Indian food lover so whenever there is an opportunity to add a new Indian restaurant to my rotation, I take the chance. When we stepped in there were no patrons inside but there were quite a lot of doordash orders being picked up - glad they are doing well on that front. We sat down and ordered lamb samosa, regular naan, chicken vindaloo, lamb rogan josh, a masala chai, and a thandai. The food exceeded my expectations and was one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in CT. The vindaloo was perfectly hot and seasoned, the lamb rogan josh packed all the seasoning in there that I craved. It overall was great!“
“Great little food truck along the wharf in New Haven. Very fresh and made to order. My daughter ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, light on spice, and it was a huge portion, piping hot and with mellow spices. I ordered the saag paneer and it was fantastic. The rice is light and fluffy and the dish was spicing and well seasoned. We were both really pleased with our choices.“
“The minute one walks in the door, you know it’s going to be a great dining experience. The aromas of the food are so enticing. Everyone was friendly. The food was delicious. The cheese naan - I could just have this and be happy. This place is awesome!“
“Had dinner here last night. The service was great and the food tasted delicious but the portions are really small for the price. My son order tikka masala and there were 5 small chunks of chicken for over $20! My biryani was also very tasty but it was hard to find the chicken in it, so it was mostly rice. Not sure it’s really worth the money.“
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The lamb saag at Tandoor is an absolute delight! Tender, succulent lamb pieces cooked to perfection in a creamy spinach sauce, with just the right blend of spices. Each bite is a burst of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. The dish is rich, flavorful, and truly authentic. Paired with fluffy naan or steamed rice, it's a meal that will leave you craving for more. The portion size is generous, making it perfect for sharing or indulging on your own. The ambiance of the restaurant adds to the overall experience, creating a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend trying the lamb saag at Tandoor - it's a true culinary delight!---“
“Came across this place on Uber Eats so we decided to take advantage of the buy one get one free deal for the roti rolls. I like that you can customize your roll to however you like so the options are endless! Pleasantly surprised at how fast the service is and how amazing the food is! The ingredients taste fresh and the portions are the perfect size. It's our second time ordering from here and we were not disappointed! Safe to say this will be a regular spot for us and I look forward to trying the other items on the menu.“
