“Nice place for a morning. Great food, good service, good atmosphere. I ordered a hot chocolate (not a coffee guy), a Belgium waffle, and a side of bacon. All of that food was amazing and I highly recommend this place if you're bored and hungry in the morning! Good cafe!“
“I finally made a stop to the restaurant and could've been happier. The order was based on the "specials list" during a busy period to see how well the kitchen would perform without the muscle memory of the regular menu.Chef Bobby and his team nailed it with both skill and professionalism. I paid attention to how the stress and pressure that happens when customers are both waiting to order, or waiting for their order, play its role in the outcome of service. 5 stars all day.The food was exactly what I was looking for. To add to it, I've been craving pastrami for the past two weeks, so I knew whoever made it for me was under extra scrutiny. The steak and cheese egg rolls were both perfectly cooked and had the correct texture inside and out.The restaurant is located between I91, exit 8, and exit 9. It's located on RT17 on the North Haven and New Haven line.Parking: Very large parking lot for customers to use.Kid-friendliness: Bring them.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.“
“Went in on a whim because I saw their sign and it was off the beaten path. I couldn't have found a nicer local bar to hang out in. Even though I knew no one when I got there, I felt like I left with friends. There was Tessa and her boyfriend Connor who was bartending and couldn't have been nicer! Mark sat to my right (who is the owners husband) as well as Andy then later on Brian and Tony came in, I went in for a drink and stayed for five maybe more! I had a great time just going in blind. It's not too close to where I live but I'm definitely going back not just to see my new friends but to try some of their food which I heard was delicious! If you're looking for something different this little gem is the place to go!“
“Fantastic service..food and we were not rushed ....my neighbor and I will certainly return and pass the word. For the amount of food, it was a bargain! Servers were really nice!Vegetarian options: Had their great salad! Plenty to take home of all our choicesDietary restrictions: I just gave my restriction and it was taken care ofParking: Ample parking close to the restaurant“
“We come here almost once a week with our two elementary schoolers. The staff is always kind, solicitous, and patient, even when one of our kids wants a number of "customizations" to her mac and cheese order. We always look to find a table near the one tv that isn't playing sports but rather is playing funny videos to keep our kids engaged so that the adults can catch up on our days. The cocktails are good and filled to the rim. And, we always appreciate the rotating specials menu so there is something new to try each time for the adults. Can't ask for much more in a go-to neighborhood restaurant.“
“As a woman from Jersey, I'm always interested in finding decent diners. I have been unlucky since moving but came across this one while visiting a friend. The meal was served exactly as ordered, without a too long wait and the service was friendly. There was a wide variety of desserts as well. The restaurant looked clean and tidy inside and out and I was super impressed with my whole experience even though I am a pretty fussy person. I am looking forward to my next meal there!“
“First time trying Abate Pizza, North Haven. I usually drive 25 minutes, to Zuppardi's, Frisco's, Ernie's or Modern. We tried Abate’s twice to be sure it’s consistant, and the bacon. Mushroom/onion, pepperoni, or sausage pizzas were excellent! .“
“It was absolutely fantastic. The food was great. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The restaurant was clean. I am one to complain if something's not right. Is very seldom do I express great satisfaction. This one deserves it.Parking: North Haven. Plenty of spots around the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: There were not too many children there. But definitely kid-friendly.“
“Today we hosted a surprise baby shower for our daughter at J. Roos. From the time I booked to the end of our event everything went smoothly and the service was great. Every person I spoke with during the whole process was a delight. The space met our needs and looked great! Our server Johna (sorry if misspelled) was so sweet and on top of everything. She worked hard to make sure everything we needed was met and all our guest all mentioned how polite she was.We chose the brunch buffet option because our daughter enjoys a good brunch and we were not disappointed. The penne ala vodka was delicious! I will definitely consider hosting future events at J. Roos as well as visit at other times to try their other food options.“
“Takes me back to the 1980s. The burgers are so much better than the big three nationwide hamburger fast food joints. Also since those places have been raising prices like crazy there are minimal differences in prices but the quality of the food is so far above the rest.Super easy free parking lot and like the other place with the broken milk shake machine or the other place with only two flavors Friendly's has so many flavors and toppings you could try a different combination every weekend and still not cover it all in a whole year!I highly recommend the cheese skirt burger.Parking: More than you will ever need and it's free!Kid-friendliness: High chairs and a fun atmosphere many families having a good time. Kids menu as well.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking spaces and wheelchair ramp.“
“Awesome place!!! Been there several tines and had a wonderful time. I took my grandson and friend along with my family and the friends mom. We had snacks and the food, drinks and service were outstanding!!! Staff very friendly. The boys played some video games but mostly played virtual golf. Plan to go back again. Also, went to a 40th birthday party!! Great venue for a party. Such a nice place for an afternoon or night out!!!“
