“Wow!!!❤️ Great food!!! Hidden gem!!! Hands down, the best steaks we have ever had! Amazing service, unbelievable presentation, abundant serving, excellent food! It was our first trip there for our anniversary referred to by word of mouth and we were not disappointed!!!! The owner worked the floor with his crew, cleared some dishes, and I didn't realize he was the owner until later! Make sure to get a reservation for dinner at this bustling wonderful Italian restaurant!!! Amazing! We will be back!Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level entrance.”
“Shunock River Brewery And River Cafe stands out because it is inclusive to everyone- no weird looks that I noticed to me or other segregated groups and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This place’s hours range from the earliest to latest dinners, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The food is very affordable and if reviewed, I have no doubt that Michelin would give it a “Bib Gourmand” badge. This place is well known for their pizza and for a good reason- pizza is made inside a historic brick column with many ingredients being local. All minors in my family were given delicious cookies upon entry. Not one employee there was even slightly bitter and half the employees were smiling even without guests around. Unique brewery made beer available on tap. Smoking guidelines are unclear and unenforced. Live music occurs twice a week. If you come here consider joining the “mug club” it is a subscription where you have a designated chilled mug that is easy to get to and you can get free beers!Food just as good as environment and all food is made after order.Summary: get your butt up and come here”
“The Red Onion, Now Raina’s Red Onion, was a very memorable experience! My family enjoyed delicious food and A+ service! The staff are amazing, thoughtful, and kind (especially Raina’s mom who waited on us). Everything is made to order and the prices are so reasonable. It’s obvious this business is run with love. A true gem!”
“Matches Tavern is one Foxwood's little known gems. Delicious casual fare at reasonable prices in an elegant, dark wood pub style atmosphere. It is actually across the street from the casino in the down stairs of the Golf Club House. Ariana was our server. Friendly and professional. I had the Chicken and Bacons sandwich with Fries for $16.95. Great tasting & well priced. I highly recommend this place.”
“Was in town due to work and didn’t want fast food , so glad I took the time to stop and get take out from here . By far the best sesame chicken I’ve had. I also got a order of the crab Rangoon and was blown away with how good it tasted! Will come back if I’m ever in town again!”
“Mystic Pizza II is my favorite. Every time I eat here everyone is so friendly and attentive even when they are packed on a friday night. First came for julia roberts but i return time and time again for the good vibe.”
“Subway is subway, it's mediocre food but sometimes that's what I want, this particular subway does always tend to be better than others I've eaten at and when I tend to stop in only on certain days of the week the employees are always welcoming and friendly and always make a well structured sandwich, couldn't ask for more when going into a subway.”
“Great place! Quaint breakfast or lunch spot with great service and food was served fresh hot and delicious!! We had pancakes and some egg sandwiches. We were stuffed and very satisfied!! Will revisit for”
“I get a pizza from here every time I'm here the pizza is pretty good and they are quick at doing it.My only complaint is the dipping sauces are trash but that's a corporate issue and not a local store issue”
“Very good bacon egg and cheese on a croissant, iced coffee with caramel and my favorite Boston cream donut love them as far as the atmosphere goes tough to tell when I'm going through the drive-”
“This is a combined Johnny Pastrami/Nathan's hotdogs. the hotdog was a-ok, and not too expenseive if you bought a pair. The nice guy also had a free/leftover/extra lemon aid that hit the spot. the gas store it is part of had popcorn, which was wrongly, but nicely done (i.e. slihgtly overcooked with slightly too much salt and oil). a nice find, but unexpected.”
“Decent midway coffee break b/w NYC and Boston. Even though they advertised a coupon they wouldn't honor it and I had to order via mobile app to apply coupon typical Dunkin, hence 4/5”
“We live in N.J. and did a little family get away with my Daughter & her Fiance. My Family & I enjoyed our experience @Via Emilia . It was one of the best Italian restaurants we've ever been to, All four of us enjoyed our meals. My husband is writing a more detailed review .”
“Our waiter Randi was one of the most fun and nicest waiters I’ve ever had. She chatted with us a bit while taking our order and let out positive energy. The food was great with good seafood and fabulous wings which we ate while watching march madness. The atmosphere was also great with a seaside vibe a nice bar and pretty lights.”
“I had the Chicken Piccata. It was cooked perfectly & crispy. The sauce was light, but flavorful. Excellent service,in a pristine & clean atmosphere. The cheese cake was light and delicious. Looking forward to returning again sometime.Parking: Large open parking lot, right in front of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in & open spaces to navagate.”
“Many restaurants will charge high prices to create an aura of quality and fine dining, only to disappoint when it comes down to eating. Shipwright's Daughter is not that place. The prices are on the high side but wow, do they deliver. Four adults, four very different entrees and everyone left with all smiles. My beef strip loin was cooked perfectly and everything that accompanied it was tasty. Some signature cocktails were discounted for the 5 - 6 pm happy hour and were, again, delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive without overtaking the conversation. If your taste buds deserve a holiday this place is worth a visit.”
“Parking across street large lot. Chairs tables front of restaurant before you walk in. Bathroom to right as you walk in. Hostess to left. Get a seat closer to the bar area. Views are magical. Outside another dozen or more tables and a bar. So no need to worry about space. But as the season kicks in make a reservation. Prices are inexpensive for the shore. Food is excellent. Drinks prices reasonable. Good beer choices and mixed drinks.”
“THIS restaurant! Just WOW! Just when you think Stonington, Pawcatuck, and Mystic don’t need another delicious eatery…. Here comes Reds with mind-blowing food! Everything is made in-house, including their sausage, biscuits, and jam and nothing disappoints! Come here, enjoy it and experience it yourself!”
“High Hope is my go to place in down town. From the atmosphere, the drink selection, the food, the staff, etc.I send all of my clients, family, and friends to High Hope Tavern.I love the lighting the most. My favorite seat is to sit near the cozy fireplace or we love sitting at the bar. The bartenders are all amazing and friendly.I highly recommend the Roasted Oysters, Devils on Horseback, and the Raw Oysters.. you can never go wrong with their Risotto that they change often or the Tavern Burgers. Their fries are also amazing with the garlic aioli. The live music on Thursdays is always a treat. Shane is very talented.Christine is the sweetest hostess who greets everyone as if they are family.”
“Iced chai tea and hot coffee were the best my wife and I have ever had. We also each got a Thai salad, which is amazing even without the dressing that come with it!! Lastly, the gluten free (and vegan!) chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies were phenomenal! Staff was happy to help with any questions we had about allergens in the food and everything was ready in less than five minutes. The little outside seating area was cute and the location was easy to get to, but far enough away from the noise on the main strip of stores.Dietary restrictions: They have clearly labeled gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian options. Staff also has easy access to a book with all allergy information for all menu items.”
“We had a lovely time . Clara was amazing , explained the menu and drink options very sweet. Also very hygenic she left our table spotless after every round of food also very patient.. We where there for 1.5 hours. It happened to be happy hour, but the atmosphere was very laid back ,chill. The Pupusas are authentic the drinks are unique and tasty. All the food we ate was really good. It was a nice getaway from Boston. Really nice place. I felt classy for once! Ha”
“Went here on a date with my girlfriend. Kristen and TJ were our servers and so helpful and kind, amazing service and atmosphere! Some of the best food I've ever eaten! It's worth every penny! If you are ever in Mystic, CT, I highly recommend this place with every fiber of my being. I got their grilled salmon special, and it was the best salmon I have ever had. It's so good that if I wasn't so full after having it(which is one of the best signs of good food), I would've gone for seconds. Check this out if you love seafood and even if you don't! ???”
“Great food. Great coffee. Great Atmosphere. It's Saturday morning and busy but the lone moves fast and you still have a cozy atmosphere without feeling crowded.Love it!! ❤️??”
“One of our favorite restaurants. Have been here upwards of 20 times or more and have never had a dish or cocktail we haven’t enjoyed. The best burger in town for sure and their sourdough is out of this world delicious. The menu changes often with a few staples so you’re never bored and can always try something new. Very fresh, always.Extremely talented team!”
“I loved this restaurant. It is a fun and lively environment. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the sea scallop risotto and the lamb chops as our main courses, they were both fantastic. For appetizers we got the ricotta bruschetta and white sauce mussels, also very good. The wait for our food was quite long but it was a busy night.”
“Wedding photographer, Mystic local, and food lover here...Oyster Club is the best restaurant in Greater Mystic for sure. I've been with my wife for a few special occasions but have also photographed a wedding celebration here.Chef Renee and company know what they are doing. If you're anything like me, you'll love the uniqueness of everything Oyster Club has to offer, from the the dishes to The Treehouse. This is New England fine dining at its best.If you're in the area (and even if you're not; just make a reservation and plan a drive), you have to stop for a meal at Oyster Club!”
“Can only comment on a few items... Buttery smooth lattes with the Canyon Coffee they use. Great Chicken Salad sandwich! Really good Rotisserie Chicken and sides. Drip coffee is really good too. Egg sandwich is a tad bland, but solid. Staff is always really friendly.”
“Have been here many times and mostly wonderful experiences. But most recent visit left a bitter taste in my mouth with the manager/hostess being extremely rude to my party. The phrase "this isn't that kind of place" when asking if possible to turn a 4 top into a 5 top. Wait staff and food was excellent.”
“I came here on a whim and I am so glad I did! The barista (whom I think is an owner) was so approachable, friendly, knowledge, and above all welcoming. His suggestions were on point, and he really thought about what I said before making a suggestion. The coffee: salted caramel iced coffee with a little cream... Chef's kiss!I was going to take my coffee and muffins to go but the lure of nerd books, comfy couches, and chill music drew me in.i can't remember the last time I actually sat and drank coffee in a coffee shop, but I couldn't pass this opportunity up!I honestly don't write reviews but I feel the need to let others know how great this place is! I will most definitely be back!Parking: This is a strip mall that use to be a school. Parking is where the busses use to line up. Worse case there is more parking across the street, and there are crosswalks.Kid-friendliness: There are some kids toys in the corner, and books for adults too. The couches are low and comfortable.”
“I visited Nashville, TN last year with friends, and have been trying to find a similar spicy chicken sandwich. I stopped by the Tin Peddler in North Stonington after work for takeout and decided to try the "Nashville Chicken", with tangy slaw, pickles, kewpie mayo, and a homemade bun. It was everything I could have imagined in the first bite. Spicy and delicious! The fries were an added bonus. Looking forward to going back with friends to try more items on the menu.”
