“Hoofs has always been a favorite of ours. This past visit, we were disappointed that there was no home made hummus that usually comes with the bread. In addition, we felt the prices had gone way up compared to previous visits. The food was very good,as usual,but with the current prices we won't be going as often as we were previously. $45 for a scallop dish.”

“I got the Pollo, a grilled chicken breast, with avocado,bacon, and cheddar. This is a neat sandwich! Not a single item dropped out of the sandwich and on to my lap while I was driving. ( this is impressive to me)When I bit into this sandwich, I said “God damn, that’s a good sandwich”. The bread was crispy (not crunchy) on the outside, but warm and chewy on the inside. I’ll be back.”

“Comfortable bar stools with the height of the bar being about perfect. Cold draft beer at a reasonable price, attentive bar tender. Definitely a "locals" kind of place and the ones I met were all friendly. If you're looking for an old school kind of bar, this place fits the bill. I live about 20 miles away and don't find myself in the neighborhood often but when I'm in the area, it's a great place to have a few relaxing beers....”

“We placed a very large order for a birthday party at the last minute. The Pizza Lady got the order delivered to us right on time, and everyone at the party kept asking where it was from because it was so good. Very happy with our experience and will definitely be back.”

It looks like they have plenty of parking spots, and plenty of room for a line of drive-thru vehicles.Wheelchair accessibility: I didn't personally try to get a wheelchair in this store, but I did notice the sidewalk was designed to go straight to the door without stairs.( I failed to check if there was an automatic door opener for the disabled.)”

“Tops is the tops for a Chinese food in the Stonington Pawcatuck Westerly area. Wow they are not very communicative, they are very nice people once you get to know them. I find their take-out meals to have plenty of fish pork beef and chicken in their dishes.”

While I have no issue with paying a higher price to support our restaurants, I've noticed that the portions have become smaller while the price has increased. I would be more than willing to pay a slightly higher price if it means maintaining the portion size we've come to expect from Subway. “Our waiter Randi was one of the most fun and nicest waiters I’ve ever had. She chatted with us a bit while taking our order and let out positive energy. The food was great with good seafood and fabulous wings which we ate while watching march madness. The atmosphere was also great with a seaside vibe a nice bar and pretty lights.”

“Many restaurants will charge high prices to create an aura of quality and fine dining, only to disappoint when it comes down to eating. Shipwright's Daughter is not that place. The prices are on the high side but wow, do they deliver. Four adults, four very different entrees and everyone left with all smiles. My beef strip loin was cooked perfectly and everything that accompanied it was tasty. Some signature cocktails were discounted for the 5 - 6 pm happy hour and were, again, delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive without overtaking the conversation. If your taste buds deserve a holiday this place is worth a visit.”

“Parking across street large lot. Chairs tables front of restaurant before you walk in. Bathroom to right as you walk in. Hostess to left. Get a seat closer to the bar area. Views are magical. Outside another dozen or more tables and a bar. So no need to worry about space. But as the season kicks in make a reservation. Prices are inexpensive for the shore. Food is excellent. Drinks prices reasonable. Good beer choices and mixed drinks.”

“Wonderful dinner. Taylor, our server, was very welcoming and attentive. The 70s Old Fashioned was delicious. Very unctous and cheesy French Onion soup broth. I ordered the mussels and the Chile tomato broth was phenomenal. Hints of cumin, coriander, and all spice! The sour dough bread was dough and crusty. I ordered a side of French fries which were of steakhouse quality. This meal was one of the best that I've had in the Stonington/Mystic/Westerly area.”

“We had a lovely time . Clara was amazing , explained the menu and drink options very sweet. Also very hygenic she left our table spotless after every round of food also very patient.. We where there for 1.5 hours. It happened to be happy hour, but the atmosphere was very laid back ,chill.The Pupusas are authentic the drinks are unique and tasty. “One of our favorite restaurants. Have been here upwards of 20 times or more and have never had a dish or cocktail we haven’t enjoyed. The best burger in town for sure and their sourdough is out of this world delicious. The menu changes often with a few staples so you’re never bored and can always try something new. “I loved this restaurant. It is a fun and lively environment. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the sea scallop risotto and the lamb chops as our main courses, they were both fantastic. For appetizers we got the ricotta bruschetta and white sauce mussels, also very good. The wait for our food was quite long but it was a busy night.”

I can tell you the ‘Life on Marzipan’ will make your day ?. We will be back to experience more of their menu!! We also go a “made to order” sourdough donut. INCREDIBLE! “Enjoyed an outstanding dining experience at Ella's.We started with foie gras club and fried hen of the woods mushroom appetizers. The flavors were delicious. The foie gras club had a great crunch with tomato jam, bacon and seared foie gras.It was out of this world. The fried hen mushrooms with ricotta and goat cheese were a fungi experience.Our server, Chris, was on the mark all night, her care in service was over the top but not overbearing. Her enthusiasm for this chef and restaurant was incredible.We chose the duck duo, a duck leg confit and a seared duck breast, while my partner had the grilled halibut special with asparagus tips, peas, and the fluffiest spinach gnocchis. The piece de resistance was chunks of lobster included with this meal. The flavors in both were heavenly. The thyme as jus with the duck was simply delish. The duck confit was perfectly prepared and a joy to eat, crunch by crunch. The seared duck breast cooked med-rare had a great crispness cap and still cooked to the right temp and married well with the sauce. Even the mashed potatoes elevated their taste to go with the duo dish. We somehow had room to have a dessert made in house, a cake with almond flour, candied pistachios, raspberries and vanilla gelato. Well made expresso and mochachino added to the fine dessert offering. This evening's meal will be something that I will always remember. Ella's put out a stunning dining experience. My thanks to the chef-owner Jeanie Roland and her incredible staff for a remarkable and memorable dining experience. I look forward to visiting again, and trying some other items from their varied menu.”

His suggestions were on point, and he really thought about what I said before making a suggestion.The coffee: salted caramel iced coffee with a little cream... Chef's kiss!I was going to take my coffee and muffins to go but the lure of nerd books, comfy couches, and chill music drew me in.i can't remember the last time I actually sat and drank coffee in a coffee shop, but I couldn't pass this opportunity up!I honestly don't write reviews but I feel the need to let others know how great this place is! I will most definitely be back!Parking: This is a strip mall that use to be a school. Parking is where the busses use to line up. Worse case there is more parking across the street, and there are crosswalks.Kid-friendliness: There are some kids toys in the corner, and books for adults too. The couches are low and comfortable.”
