“Hoofs has always been a favorite of ours. This past visit, we were disappointed that there was no home made hummus that usually comes with the bread. In addition, we felt the prices had gone way up compared to previous visits. The food was very good,as usual, but with the current prices we won't be going as often as we were previously. $45 for a scallop dish.”
“The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Staff was super chill and friendly and the ambiance was perfect. Will definitely be coming here again next time I'm in town and I recommend you do the ”
“I got the Pollo, a grilled chicken breast, with avocado, bacon, and cheddar. This is a neat sandwich! Not a single item dropped out of the sandwich and on to my lap while I was driving. ( this is impressive to me)When I bit into this sandwich, I said “God damn, that’s a good sandwich”. The bread was crispy (not crunchy) on the outside, but warm and chewy on the inside. I’ll be back.”
“This place is what DQ is supposed to be, quintessential of Americana summertime and life at the shore. There's a reason this location has been around forever.”
“Went in an ordered two sandwiches. Absolutely delicious! Got a large grinder (crusty bread) Cowboy and a small Coggwell! Very generous portions and top quality ingredients. Won’t be disappointed for sure! Can’t wait to try other menu items.”
“Comfortable bar stools with the height of the bar being about perfect. Cold draft beer at a reasonable price, attentive bar tender. Definitely a "locals" kind of place and the ones I met were all friendly. If you're looking for an old school kind of bar, this place fits the bill. I live about 20 miles away and don't find myself in the neighborhood often but when I'm in the area, it's a great place to have a few relaxing beers....”
“We placed a very large order for a birthday party at the last minute. The Pizza Lady got the order delivered to us right on time, and everyone at the party kept asking where it was from because it was so good. Very happy with our experience and will definitely be back.”
“I grew up on Bess Eaton. I thought they all went out of business. WhenI found out there was still some around. My husband and I drove an hour to get there. The donuts and coffee are still the best by far!!”
“Clean store, clean bathroom, friendly and efficient service!Parking: It's clean, well marked and well lit. It looks like they have plenty of parking spots, and plenty of room for a line of drive-thru vehicles.Wheelchair accessibility: I didn't personally try to get a wheelchair in this store, but I did notice the sidewalk was designed to go straight to the door without stairs.( I failed to check if there was an automatic door opener for the disabled.)”
“Tops is the tops for a Chinese food in the Stonington Pawcatuck Westerly area. Wow they are not very communicative, they are very nice people once you get to know them. I find their take-out meals to have plenty of fish pork beef and chicken in their dishes.”
“As a loyal customer of Subway, I wanted to share my feedback regarding the recent changes in the small turkey sandwich portion and portions subway has made. While I have no issue with paying a higher price to support our restaurants, I've noticed that the portions have become smaller while the price has increased. As someone who values consistency and quality, I believe it's essential for prices to reflect inflation without compromising on portion size. I would be more than willing to pay a slightly higher price if it means maintaining the portion size we've come to expect from Subway. Ensuring that customers receive value for their money is crucial for maintaining satisfaction and loyalty. The photo shows a small turkey without cheese and mask for extra turkey in lieu of the cheese. Out the door $8.50.I’m not the only one noticing.Subway, the world's largest sandwich chain, has come up with a novel solution to deal with soaring inflation: shrinking its (in)famous footlong sandwiches down to just three inches (7.6cm)Suggestion:To combat inflation without sacrificing quality or portion size, Subway could consider a strategy that prioritizes maintaining old-school portions while adjusting prices to reflect inflation. By keeping portion sizes consistent, Subway can retain loyal customers and uphold its reputation for offering value-driven meals. This approach ensures that customers continue to receive the same satisfying experience they've come to expect from Subway, fostering loyalty and positive word-of-mouth. Additionally, emphasizing quality ingredients and customer satisfaction can further distinguish Subway as a brand that prioritizes both quantity and quality. This balanced approach to fighting inflation can help Subway maintain its competitive edge in the market while preserving customer trust and loyalty.Thank you for considering my feedback.”
“All choices are good quality food and plentiful. Homemade cookies each day too. The eggplant fries are yummy as Re the 4 a day soup choices. Full dinner option of fresh fish and veg is best around.”
“We live in N.J. and did a little family get away with my Daughter & her Fiance. My Family & I enjoyed our experience @Via Emilia . It was one of the best Italian restaurants we've ever been to, All four of us enjoyed our meals. My husband is writing a more detailed review .”
“Our waiter Randi was one of the most fun and nicest waiters I’ve ever had. She chatted with us a bit while taking our order and let out positive energy. The food was great with good seafood and fabulous wings which we ate while watching march madness. The atmosphere was also great with a seaside vibe a nice bar and pretty lights.”
“I had the Chicken Piccata. It was cooked perfectly & crispy. The sauce was light, but flavorful. Excellent service,in a pristine & clean atmosphere. The cheese cake was light and delicious. Looking forward to returning again sometime.Parking: Large open parking lot, right in front of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in & open spaces to navagate.”
“Many restaurants will charge high prices to create an aura of quality and fine dining, only to disappoint when it comes down to eating. Shipwright's Daughter is not that place. The prices are on the high side but wow, do they deliver. Four adults, four very different entrees and everyone left with all smiles. My beef strip loin was cooked perfectly and everything that accompanied it was tasty. Some signature cocktails were discounted for the 5 - 6 pm happy hour and were, again, delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive without overtaking the conversation. If your taste buds deserve a holiday this place is worth a visit.”
“Parking across street large lot. Chairs tables front of restaurant before you walk in. Bathroom to right as you walk in. Hostess to left. Get a seat closer to the bar area. Views are magical. Outside another dozen or more tables and a bar. So no need to worry about space. But as the season kicks in make a reservation. Prices are inexpensive for the shore. Food is excellent. Drinks prices reasonable. Good beer choices and mixed drinks.”
“Wonderful dinner. Taylor, our server, was very welcoming and attentive. The 70s Old Fashioned was delicious. Very unctous and cheesy French Onion soup broth. I ordered the mussels and the Chile tomato broth was phenomenal. Hints of cumin, coriander, and all spice! The sour dough bread was dough and crusty. I ordered a side of French fries which were of steakhouse quality. This meal was one of the best that I've had in the Stonington/Mystic/Westerly area.”
“This was our time eating at the Tin Peddler and we were very impressed. For our dinner date, the food, the service and the atmosphere were all great. The noise level was a bit too high, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, so I guess that's good. Definitely will be back.”
“We had a lovely time . Clara was amazing , explained the menu and drink options very sweet. Also very hygenic she left our table spotless after every round of food also very patient.. We where there for 1.5 hours. It happened to be happy hour, but the atmosphere was very laid back ,chill. The Pupusas are authentic the drinks are unique and tasty. All the food we ate was really good. It was a nice getaway from Boston. Really nice place. I felt classy for once! Ha”
“Def lived up to the expectations! The line was almost always out the door and we can see why.The ham and cheese croissant was so good, even hours after we got it. Also ordered the blueberry muffin and the chocolate chip cookie - amazing! The coffee was okay too... Youngbuns across the street has the same coffee, and it wasn't as busy.Overall, a delicious bakery and worth the wait!”
“Always enjoy this place. The hostess, I believe her name was Yvonne, could not have been any nicer. What a warm, friendly way to be greeted when you arrive, the service was excellent and so was the food. Needless to say, the view is even better.”
“Great food. Great coffee. Great Atmosphere. It's Saturday morning and busy but the lone moves fast and you still have a cozy atmosphere without feeling crowded.Love it!! ❤️??”
“One of our favorite restaurants. Have been here upwards of 20 times or more and have never had a dish or cocktail we haven’t enjoyed. The best burger in town for sure and their sourdough is out of this world delicious. The menu changes often with a few staples so you’re never bored and can always try something new. Very fresh, always.Extremely talented team!”
“I loved this restaurant. It is a fun and lively environment. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the sea scallop risotto and the lamb chops as our main courses, they were both fantastic. For appetizers we got the ricotta bruschetta and white sauce mussels, also very good. The wait for our food was quite long but it was a busy night.”
“One of the best restaurants in Mystic. Unfortunately after they renovated they got rid of the complementary bread and cornbread, but there food has consistently been fantastic. There service is usually slow though.”
“We can’t say enough about our breakfast. It was delicious! The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. Coffee is delicious. Specialty coffees are innovative and amazing. I can tell you the ‘Life on Marzipan’ will make your day ?. We will be back to experience more of their menu!! We also go a “made to order” sourdough donut. INCREDIBLE! A nice chew, fantastic flavor, there was nothing we would change about the meals we had here. Thank you, Nanas!”
“Enjoyed an outstanding dining experience at Ella's.We started with foie gras club and fried hen of the woods mushroom appetizers. The flavors were delicious. The foie gras club had a great crunch with tomato jam, bacon and seared foie gras.It was out of this world. The fried hen mushrooms with ricotta and goat cheese were a fungi experience. Our server, Chris, was on the mark all night, her care in service was over the top but not overbearing. Her enthusiasm for this chef and restaurant was incredible. We chose the duck duo, a duck leg confit and a seared duck breast, while my partner had the grilled halibut special with asparagus tips, peas, and the fluffiest spinach gnocchis. The piece de resistance was chunks of lobster included with this meal. The flavors in both were heavenly. The thyme as jus with the duck was simply delish. The duck confit was perfectly prepared and a joy to eat, crunch by crunch. The seared duck breast cooked med-rare had a great crispness cap and still cooked to the right temp and married well with the sauce. Even the mashed potatoes elevated their taste to go with the duo dish. We somehow had room to have a dessert made in house, a cake with almond flour, candied pistachios, raspberries and vanilla gelato. Well made expresso and mochachino added to the fine dessert offering. This evening's meal will be something that I will always remember. Ella's put out a stunning dining experience. My thanks to the chef-owner Jeanie Roland and her incredible staff for a remarkable and memorable dining experience. I look forward to visiting again, and trying some other items from their varied menu.”
“I came here on a whim and I am so glad I did! The barista (whom I think is an owner) was so approachable, friendly, knowledge, and above all welcoming. His suggestions were on point, and he really thought about what I said before making a suggestion. The coffee: salted caramel iced coffee with a little cream... Chef's kiss!I was going to take my coffee and muffins to go but the lure of nerd books, comfy couches, and chill music drew me in.i can't remember the last time I actually sat and drank coffee in a coffee shop, but I couldn't pass this opportunity up!I honestly don't write reviews but I feel the need to let others know how great this place is! I will most definitely be back!Parking: This is a strip mall that use to be a school. Parking is where the busses use to line up. Worse case there is more parking across the street, and there are crosswalks.Kid-friendliness: There are some kids toys in the corner, and books for adults too. The couches are low and comfortable.”
“THIS restaurant! Just WOW! Just when you think Stonington, Pawcatuck, and Mystic don’t need another delicious eatery…. Here comes Reds with mind-blowing food! Everything is made in-house, including their sausage, biscuits, and jam and nothing disappoints! Come here, enjoy it and experience it yourself!”
