“Good places for slices with a good variety. Ask that they leave them in a little longer than usual. 8.1 for fresh pies. Great crust. Small place so takeout for the most part. 2 small tables.”
“I have lived about 2 minutes from Salem Valley Farms my whole life and the ice cream is always great. The staff is friendly, and efficient, especially considering how small of a place it is and how much traffic they get. The only downside is waiting in line, but it's expected and always worth it. You always get exactly what you asked for, the serving sizes are great, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting- exactly what you'd expect from a small town like Salem. They have a large selection of ice cream flavors and toppings, cones and cups, and a few other options such as dairy free ice cream and sorbet. There is even a sign you can scan on your phone for allergy information. There are several picnic tables on the lawn and an ATM- it should be noted that they only accept cash. Family friendly- great for children and even dogs! If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by for a sweet treat.”
“(Warning: The eat in area/tables are dirty, sticky and horrible! Cleaning them will not help.). This really is a 100% takeout place. If we start there then the food is surprisingly good. Everything had good flavor, was hot and had a good quantity of chicken and shrimp. They do a very good takeout business because I think the locals know about the place. If I were the owners I'd get rid of the pictures in the takeout pickup area and give it a coat of paint.”
“Great local craft beer selection. Very good Chicago style deep dish pizza. We had the Ceasar salad and a small 2 Brothers Special pizza. The salad had fresh crisp romaine lettuce and tangy ramono cheese, but the Ceasar dressing was a little sour for my taste. The pizza was piled high with toppings, and the crust was crispy ?”
“Nice older Italian (? I'm guessing) man has ran it for as long as I can remember and he runs a tight ship. Clean, well stocked, orderly, just like a Subway should be. It can get pretty busy around lunch time but the staff handles the waves of customers by multitasking and making multiple orders at once. Only reason I didn't give it a 5⭐ rating overall is cause, c'mon......it's Subway”
“Great dunkin! Ian at the window is sooooooo helpful and dashingly good looking. I’d let my daughter date him! He’s such a gentleman and anytime he makes my coffee I know it’s going to be delicious! Overall great staff and great food cofee!”
“I had their pizza for the first time tonight and it was EXCELLENT. I got a half sausage/ half mushroom well done large . It was crispy ,thin crust and better than any pizza in a 30 mile radius.”

“Got the flafel plater, and it was the most delicious flafel Ive ever got in the US .. I also got the lamb kofta pita wrap to go, and it was amazing as well. I’ve to revisit them again before leaving the area.”
“First time here and it was a very pleasant experience. We stopped in after getting some cheese down the street and enjoyed some live music with a pumpkin beer. We look forward to our return visit!”
“Is it crazy to get ice cream on a 32° night. Probably . Am I glad I did it? Definitely I had the brownie, mint mint, which was scrumptious. Great place great product.”
“For me the Village Cafe is the premier breakfast cafe in the area. I eat breakfast there 2 to 3 times a week. The front counter is dutifully manned by Rita who knows everyone by their first names and greets you upon coming in. The food is prepared by Nick, back in the kitchen, who pays attention to every detail to make sure your breakfast comes out perfect. For a breakfast sandwich that means your hard roll is buttered and grilled in the inside, your bacon is cut to sandwich size and crispy, and your egg and cheese are melted together when it is served. If you want something prepared differently due to personal preferences or dietary restrictions then just tell Rita and she will make it happen, no problem. The coffee is always hot and delicious. The cafe is usually open by 7:15 am. So stop in and give it a try if you haven’t tried the place. It’s a great way to start the day.”
“I've been getting my coffee from Deep River Roasters for years now, I used to roast my own or have it shipped from assorted roasters around the country. As a pretty big "coffee geek", I can say after trying everyone in CT that I have found, and quite a few places overseas, that there is no place I would rather get my coffee from. You're not going to find anyone around here with fresher roasted beans, or more care put into them. Fantastic coffee and fantastic people, who will certainly go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your coffee. Do yourself a favor and go now! Unless you're too far away, then check their website, because they also ship their beans!Parking: Huge parking lot at the Witch Hazel Works building.”
“We got the spicy Italian panini. Large , Excellent and reasonable price. Sweet welcoming staff, fast efficient service. Don't be discouraged by the amount of people waiting for their order. They put order out quickly and everything is fresh. There is a lot of parking. It is a takeout. A couple bench inside and a pick-nick table outside. We will go back .”
“What a gem! Really lovely experience and are shocked it wasn’t packed on a Sunday night. It’s a bit of a drive for us, but we will definitely be back. The atmosphere and service gave classy vibes. Tasty cocktails and appetizers. Loved the authenticity of flavors — had our first empanada! We ordered several things off the specials menu, and while my own steak wasn’t a particularly tender cut, there are certainly plenty of options to choose from. Locals are lucky to have this place! Just wish we had saved room for dessert…”
“First, I don't normally like chocolate flourless cake. It tends to be dense and dry so not worth the calories. But this ...this cake...is everything. It's smooth and silky...unless you're allergic, you have to eat this. Your mouth will thank you! The cheesecake is light and whippy, and not too sweet, and the fruit are fresh and happy just sitting there on top with powdered sugar. You must eat have it!!”
“Stopped by here randomly with my family (wife & 3 kids) on a trip from NY to Boston .. We ordered a large cheese pizza to go. We were eager to get home so we ate it in the car.. The pizza was excellent. We all loved it.. My wife & kids all claimed that it was the best pizza they've EVER had.. It might not have been the best pizza I've EVER had but it's in the top 5. I actually thought the pizza may have even been a little bit undercooked and it was still phenomenal.. My only gripe was that I didn't order 2 or 3 more pizzas for the road and leftovers. During the remaining hour and 45 minute trip from the restaurant to Boston all we talked about was how good that pizza was.. True story...*5-STARS*”
“This place is a true gem! Nestled unobtrusively in a little plaza, the restaurant doesn't seem like much on the outside. But you walk into a warm, truly cozy, whimsical atmosphere that wows. The staff were all wonderful and seemed happy to be there, and the service was fast and efficient. Great people. I got a small spot of hot sauce on my shirt, and was trying to get it out, and Zoom! Here comes our waitress with spot remover! Wow!The food? OMG THE FOOD! I at first thought the menu was a tad pricey, but when the food came, my plate was LOADED. Worth every penny! And it was utterly delicious! Very fresh ingredients, and flavorful!I can't rave enough about The Shack. We will eat there many more times in the future!”
“I've never written a review before but I felt compelled to leave one after my experience at Nana's. Yesterday was my first time there and it was awesome. Nana and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and just great to talk to. My boyfriend and I ordered the Alfredo pasta with chicken and it filled us both up which is surprising considering my boyfriend eats a lot, but anyways it was delicious, filling, and well priced. We also ordered the tiramisu and fried dough and both were extremely good. We were the only ones dining in there and Nana even threw in some extra fried dough for me. One of the best experiences I've had at restaurant, will definitely be going there again.”
“We came for the polar express Santa train, it was amazing and really put you in the holiday spirit. The trains are outstanding, and so awesome run by steam with guys actually shoveling coal into them!Restrooms: Several restrooms, well placedDog-friendliness: Not dog friendly- leave your dog at home”
“Excellent breakfast and brunch place. It is small, but it makes sense for a local spot in a small town.I've eaten here several times now and I am yet to be dissapointed. This time I had the French Toast special ? french toast was moist, stuffed with apples and topped with whipped cream and spinkled with cinnamon. Got a side of bacon to offset the sweetness of the french toast. It was the perfect breakfasts. My friends had Western omelets that are their go to here for breakfast”
“Small pastry shop, but amazing quality. I've been coming here for a while since my uncle turned us on to this place and the pastries are always fresh and consistent plus the stuffed bread is top tier. I'd stop by early and often if you're in the area!Parking: It's a small lot next to the building”
“We got food to go here for the 1st time tonight and it was great! We tried the pulled pork, brisket, bacon mac n cheese, cole slaw, and collard greens. Everything was delicious, but the collard greens were omg good. Parking: Parking surrounds the building (front, side, and back). There's room for at least 20 cars or so.”
“Tracy Henzel's classes are wonderful! VERY clear instructions the entire practice - you don't get a neckache trying to see what she's doing because you don't have to look. She brings such a positive energy - helps you to push yourself beyond what you think you can do and provides gentle correction during class to ensure you're doing the poses properly.”
“The Valentine’s Day dinner special including a bottle of wine was exceptional. We moved from NJ and Sapore’s pizza and the Italian food rivals some of the best we’ve had. Recommend it highly.”
“Got there at 5:30pm on Friday 3/15 it was very busy, kept name on list, sat down at 6:25pm. Looks like it is peak time, it was noisy, because it is small, but it was worth the wait. by the time we sat down the crowd was less. We're not Irish, we are from the Caribbean, so we stood out :), from the time of putting our name on the list to the time we left, our experience was fantastic. The food was amazing, the cornbeef melted in your mouth, the sweet potato was huge and tasty. the dry rub wings were finger licking & the mac&cheese w/jalapenos is a must. We had leftovers on Saturday. Trust me, my husband & I are already planning our next visit. Thank you for a wonderful dinner and great experience.”
“We ordered 4 combo meals and 2 other meals but they were still ready in the promised 20 minutes. One meal was required to be "gluten free" and it was handled without issue. Friendly employees. The storefront and counter were neat and clean.”
“I have been wanting to try this food truck for a while now. And it was just as amazing as my cousin said it was. If your thinking about it DO IT!! Foods amazing and the owner is amazing!”
“My family and I love Pokemoto! The food is fresh, diverse and delicious. I usually get the large bowl with 2-3 proteins (sushi) and white sticky rice bed with a large variety of vegetables, sauces and toppings. The service is also great. I appreciate how the servers are always eager to please. Pokemoto is our new GoTo in Colchester!”
“Aside from the fact that this is a beautifully secluded little spot, their offerings are delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Fox Farm instantly became one of my top favorite places to visit in the New England area. Their Burst IPA is addictive.”
