“Take-out food recommendation! Hot Basil Thai Food, 565 New Park Ave, West Hartford. Ordered three dishes at 2:15pm today for pick-up. Not only was the food OUTSTANDING, but the price SHOCKED me at how low it was. I guess the lunch menu prices is reduced. I will be doing this again, frequently. I've eaten there for dinner several times per year for years and never regretted it, but this blew me away, both the quality and price. Let's be sure to keep them in business with take-out orders!“
“This was my third time visiting this Thai place. I think it’s a very good place if you like spicy food because they can make really good spicy food .However i had gone before covid and it was a well kept restaurant but on going yesterday it didn’t look so welcoming and also the plates that were served were very worn out. I think most of their business maybe with takeouts . There were not many servers and all as well. Just the family running the business.Sweet chili sample-5/5Crispy crab curry-4/5Drunken noodles-4/5Red chicken curry-5/5 bcz of the spice levelService is fast, food is good. And they do check your bill as they do apply 12% service charge additionally when you dine in.“
“We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! Started with crab Rangoon, fresh rolls and dumplings. All delicious! Dinners were pork pad Thai, beef pad Thai, fried rice and a most interesting chicken salad. Everything was delicious with most delicate flavors. We were pretty full but needed to try the mango sticky rice and it did not disappoint! Mango was do fresh and the contrasting warm rice was devine. Best Thai food out in a long time.“
“I tried this place for the first time and was impressed. The staff were knowledgeable and able to accommodate vegan options. This indicates an important detail; the food is freshly made and prepared. The bottomline is that most peoplewill find a truely special option here within the options of customization.Vegetarian options: most items can be made vegan. exceptionally even the curries can be made vegan.“
“My favorite Thai restaurant currently in the greater Hartford area. The food reminds me of my mom's cooking. I make the trip from Hartford To New Britain whenever I want a piece of home. This small quaint restaurant packs a punch and doesn't hold back on flavor. While some places water down the flavor to cater to a broader audience Mai (the owner) chefs it up as if she is in her home kitchen cooking for family. You taste the loving in her cooking. There is limited seating but when you get the chance order a few dishes with friends or family and share the meal Thai style. You can always order in advance and pick up or utilize a delivery service. You won't be disappointed. Ask for Mai (pronounced May) and tell her Ty sent you. She will make sure you're taken care of.“
“Yummy!!! Just the right amount of flavor. Not salty. Good portion sizes. Clean, spacious restaurant. Very nice customer service- attentive, polite, and communicative. Took it home for dinner so my pics aren’t great but it was delicious and there were no leftovers!!! I’m going back.Parking: There were about 5 stops on the restaurant premises but you could park on the street.“
“I always judge a Thai place by their Drunken Noodles. I got this one to go, and it was the perfect comfort meal! It was filled with flavor, and I thought the noodles were the perfect texture. It was also very affordable. My only wish was that it was spicier because I got it at level 4 out of 5 for spice and it was not spicy enough for me. I will be coming back, though!“
“Mae Kong is a great littleThai restaurant . The owner cares about her food and it shows . It is a small place tasteful but simple atmosphere . I have eaten here for many years . It is one of the few restaurants in downtown New Britain that has withstood the rest of time. While many others have come and gone Mae Kong survives. The menu is varied and contains many Thai dishes you won't find elsewhere . I have Tom Yum Khoong soup, the Larb, Pad-See-ew, a couple of Prik dishes, the green, Panang and Mussaman curries as well as several other dishes . All ver excellent. S solid and relatable Thai restaurant. It's BYOB.“
“Spicy Sriracha Noodle with Grilled Chicken is go good its my go to. Siam Corner Beef and Drunken noodles are both fantastic as well. The pork dumplings and crab ragoon with Edame are go to apps. The peanut sauce leaves a lot to be desired. All in all, we love this place.“
“When we were going to go to the very full Mexican place nearby we saw this place and it was very nice to eat at and had a very 'home-y' feel to it in regards to the people there, it felt like a place where they have made this food for a while and have their menu down pat... “
“Pho Bar got pulled up on by me n company recently during a cold @$$ day as a hot bowl of soup sounded to good to pass up....The location is in a shopping center but they have a clearly visible sign w an ok amount of parking. There isnt a ton of seating so maybe call if its a busy night..outside of that its nice n clean inside. As far as the food goes this place is pretty legit...Appetizer: curry puffs.while they weren't what I was expecting the flavor was good. But they needed a bit more time in the fryer as the centers were cold/under a bit so this was mixed bag.On to the main event here. The headliners were:Rare Beef PhoGarlic Stir Fry w/ Crunchy ChickenThe Pho itself was kinda on the salty side which was a letdown but the flavors were a knockout and the rare beef? Actually tender & rare thin slices of good quality beef!! Score! It came w all the fixins and everything tasted fresh. ?The garlic stir fry again was a bit on the salty side but the flavors here were aces!! Thin sliced tender pieces of ginger that didn't overwhelm the palate. Then you finish it off w some of the crispitty crunchiest chicken ya ever bit into and you have yourself a little happy dance ?They put out some legit eats here and it's worth a stop...if your sensitive to salt ask for it to be toned down. Outside of that enjoy the transport to a Vietnamese paradise.“
“We absolutely love this restaurant. We have been going here since opening day. It is our favorite thai restaurant hands-down. The owner is so friendly and the atmosphere is calming. You need to check this place out! My favorite is the drunken noodle and shrimp summer rolls.“
“This place is extraordinary and I frequent it at least 3 times a month! The service here is wonderful. The ladies there are always smiling and more than happy to accommodate your requests. The appetizers, food, specialty drinks and desserts are delicious. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients offer plenty of vegan options. Despite some reviews mentioning portion size, I've always found the portions to be more than generous. Somewhere in Bangkok the best Thai restaurant in the area! อาหารที่ยอดเยี่ยม สถานที่ที่มีความสุข Xāh̄ār thī̀ yxd yeī̀ym s̄t̄hān thī̀ thī̀ mī khwām s̄uk̄h“
“Had the mad chicken and pad thai. The mad chicken was very yummy, flavorful and crispy. The pad thai was not bad but not too great either, it was not saucy and flavorful rnough. The place is nice and clean, i only did take out but will come back to try other “
“Takeout review:I've had takeout twice from here and so far so good. I drive by it all the time, one of these days I'll drop in. The building looks pretty nice and nestled on the Farmington River. For starters, I always get the curry puffs which had mixed veggies, curry spices, in a puff pastry; these were so good dipped in their special sweet and tangy sauce. I'm a huge pad Thai fan so I had their chicken pad Thai and it was one of the best. The flavor and textures were on point. The second time, I had their crispy chicken pad Thai; I didn't like that one because the chicken wasn't crispy or flavorful and the noodles were very dry and flavorless. They might've had an off night? Judging on the first pad Thai meal I had, I know they have potential. Will I order from them again? Yes! Looking forward to trying out their other dishes too.“
“I have been on the lookout for a great Thai restaurant in CT after having been lucky enough to enjoy some very good restaurants on Long Island and while traveling for work across the country without much success, until today. The lunch I enjoyed at Kob Jai Pho and Thai Restaurant was absolutely delicious. Although I only had a few of their offerings (Veg Tom Yum Soup, Spring Roll, & Prik King), the flavors were incredible and food divine. From the subtle spicy and sweet soup, to the delicate crunch of the roll and sweetness of the sauce, and the perfectly spice laden Prik King with bell peppers, string beans, and white rice draped over the delicious sauce, I thoroughly enjoyed everything down to the last drop.Highly recommended!!“
“Although there was a change in ownership, the overall vibe and quality of food hasn't changed. The hostess and server are kind and welcoming. The quality of food and options on the menu have improved from the previous owner. For example, they now have boba tea in various flavors. This place is easily a staple for restaurants in Bloomfield center that I hope will stay open. Please support this business.Kid-friendliness: The establishment is very kind to families with children. I only wish they had a koala changing station.“
“I’m not even joking when I say this might be the best Thai restaurant in Connecticut. The food is literally amazing and the staff are just so wonderful to make you feel at home. The atmosphere has an industrial but cozy feel definitely come here.“
