frying temperature is on the high side, brussel sprouts chips are a bit burnt, more dark brown/black leaves than green. fries are also darker than what you usually seedeviled eggs are okthe daily soup (chicken and beans) was the tastiest out of everything i had, all the spices/veg flavors were perfectly matched which was very satisfying.
I rarely give out 5 stars across the board but Brookland EARNED IT. And then some.They really are Brookland's finest.Ok we came here at 10 and the kitchen closed at 1030. So after a bit of investigating we were seated. And boy am I glad. This is my regular neighborhood spot. I've been coming for years. The staff have always been cool and it's just a comfortable place. I order the Tony's Breakfast sandwich and Granola Parfait.. It's filling but you won't feel tired after. I've had the shrimp and grits and it's good enough. If you're from the South you may disagree.
