“First I would like to say that I wish there were more than 5 stars. My son and I are visiting the DC area for the Cherry Blossom festivities. My son has a love for Indian food ever since his trip to India. I have never tried Indian food ever. So this was my very first experience. From the moment we walked in the door our amazing experience began. The atmosphere is beautiful and so is the staff. Our server, April was super helpful and very knowledgeable. She has an amazing spirit and is wonderful with her job! The food... was very fresh, aromatic and DELICIOUS!! My son said the food was the closest to the food in India that he has had here in the states. For my first time... OMG!!! I am HOOKED! The only bad part is that I have to go back to Florida and wait impatiently for my next visit.“
“The modern creativity expressed here is certainly deserving of the Michelin star they have. We had 8 different dishes/tastes plus an amuse bouche and all were impressive. Rania also has an excellent wine list and a group of house conceived cocktails that are unique. Service was knowledgeable and timely throughout. Can't wait to return!“
“This place was an absolute delight. The ambiance was sexy as was the food. I am so happy my table ordered the inquisitive. It was a wonderful array of food, perfectly portioned and flavorful. The mock tail menu was a pleasant surprise. The customer service personable and professional.“
“It’s a lovely and beautiful place and the food is good too. However , I asked for more of the green chatni with my chicken tandoori and it came later . I’d almost finished my chicken .Also the innovation you guys are making in some traditional Indian cuisine are really not nice . The rasmalai looked and even tasted bizarre. I mean I can understand that you are trying to be different and sophisticated but it was not a rasmalai anymore !! It was something else“
“Craving a delicious and authentic Indian dining experience? Look no further than The Bombay Club in Washington DC. Stepping into the restaurant is like entering a world of sophisticated elegance. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a touch of old-world charm. Live piano music fills the air, adding a touch of romance and enhancing the overall ambiance. But the true star of the show is the food. They boasts a menu that delivers a delightful journey through the diverse flavors of India. From perfectly spiced curries to melt-in-your-mouth tandoori meats, every dish is bursting with authenticity. The menu caters to a variety of palates, offering both familiar favorites and more adventurous options.“
“This is an amazing place and the food, service, ambience all are above par. Omar, Arab and the owner “Bobby the great” is a lovely team. The food omg I have not had sheesh kabob like there since I left India in 1986. So authentic yet so fusion and amazing. Just speechless and have to go back often now. Highly recommended to all.“
“Simply delicious! Ordered a takeout order of the butter chicken and a naan. The chicken is soft and tender, the rice on point and some of the best chickpeas that I’ve had. Compres to other places in the district, I felt the platter was generous with chicken. I wish I’ve ordered more chickpeas because they were simply amazing. The place looked great and will plan to come in next time.“
“From walking inside, the server was very welcoming and brought a great atmosphere to the restaurant. He constantly checked up on us and made sure our water was always refilled. The food here is also great, ordered the saag chicken and kheer. Both were amazing. Over all, highly recommend this place and I would definitely be returning!❣️“
“Some of the most delicious food in DC. As a vegan they had so many incredible options that you can’t always find at regular Indian restaurants. The dosa with potato filling and idly were incredible and the server was so quick to provide her recommendation for her favorite vegan curry. My friend was gluten free too and we had so many options to enjoy - it was a feast! All vegans in the area need to run over here right away! Veganesha is the bestVegetarian options: Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available“
“This was BY FAR the best dosas and Idli we have had in years! Chef Paul is amazing and he told me he doesn’t believe in catering or delivery because South Indian food is best served hot and fresh and I couldn’t agree more! The Idlis melted in my mouth. The dosas were just perfect - the masala and chutney and sambhar -10/10! Go - no run to this place!“
“Food was pretty good but I wouldn't say incredible. Service is friendly but for whatever reason, the restaurant only does happy hour at the bar and not at the tables. That was quite annoying. My lamb biryani was pretty good and elevated by the cucumber raita. The portion sized looked small when it first arrived but I was actually quite full by the time I finished. The garlic naan was soft and flavorful.“
“Very nice and attentive employees, amazing food, really nice ambience. The samosas were delicious and the sauces that came with them were as well. Amazing naan, amazing aloo palak, I'll definitely be visiting again! Would definitely recommend!Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian, I can definitely say that there were many great options here! There was a whole vegan section as well which had plenty more!“
“In a cozy corner, where spices meet smile,A culinary journey, stretching mile after mile. With warmth in their greetings, they welcome each guest,In this tiny haven, you'll find food that's the best. From tandoori to curry, each dish a delight,Authentic flavors that dance through the night.Though the space may be small, its spirit is vast,A super friendly Indian joint, unsurpassed.“
“We had a wonderful dinner tonight! The Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Butter Chicken and it did not disappoint. Loved the cozy atmosphere and the service was great! We will be going back for sure!“
“I'M CURRENTLY 5 YEARS MEATLESS FREE AND THAXS SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR VEGAN OPTIONS.I WAS ABLE TO ASK QUESTIONS AND THE EMPLOYEE WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND PATIENT.Vegetarian options: THERE ARE SO MANY OPTIONS PLEASE READ THE SEVERAL MENUS OR YOU CAN GO ONLINE TO ORDERParking: PLEASE COME AROUND LUNCH OR DURING EVENING HOURS.“
“Authentic Desi food. BIG PORTIONS It is so tasty and spicy. We asked for spicy food and it had good amounts of spice. HALAL FOOD People are so nice here. They give complimentary chai They give more food than you are expecting and the portions are really big. Two people can get full easily. The place is in a small plaza called trinity square“
“I've ordered from this restaurant multiple times and I have also dined in. It's now a staple for me. Their food is pretty consistent and is always on point when I order. I highly recommend their Salmon and Fish biriyani. It comes with a lovely yogurt sauce that pairs well with the rice. The rice and fish are well seasoned and it's enough portions to have leftovers the next day. The service is pretty quick but when I've gone it's not crazy busy so I've been fortunate. It's a nice casual spot to dine in on a date, with friends or by yourself!“
“There is no better experience than trying something totally new and having it turn out beyond expectations. In my case, eating a Nepalese dish at Himalayan Doko for the first time in my life has produced that satisfaction in me. It was not only the extraordinary taste of the food but the extremely friendly attention of the staff that would make me return to this place a thousand times. I loved the atmosphere, the decoration that reflects its tradition, and the neatness. It will definitely be a must stop whenever you have the opportunity to visit Washington DC.There is no better experience than trying something totally new and having it turn out beyond expectations. “I order from this place a bit - in rotation with similar spots. However, tonight they gained a very loyal customer. I just spent 7 hours in the ER and ordered Indique to pick up on the way home. Unfortunately they gave me the wrong order (similar names) and I was pretty disappointed when I got home. I called to ask for a refund, but they bent over backwards to find me a driver and deliver my food. I appreciated this even more knowing I went through a third party delivery service, and they had every right to make me handle this through them. This also happened on NYE - definitely a busy day - but they made our whole night. Order was fresh and delicious as always. Their Tikka and naan are some of the best in DC!“
“I'm in DC for work and this place is right around the corner from my hotel. So..convenient. With that said, I would drive a significant distance to eat this food again. Incredible! I had chicken tikka masala and Naan bread. I make my own at home (love to cook and don't eat out often) and this was maybe a little bit better than mine ? Spice and flavor was on point!“
“You know when they say, "Hole in the walls have the best food." This is definitely true about this place. You would not expect delicious Indian cuisine from a chicken and waffle take out, but boy is it good. Love the chicken Biryani and their whole wings. Just plain good fast food, at a reasonable price with large portions enough for leftovers. .“
“In a quaint town, a hidden gem does rest,An authentic Nepalese culinary quest.Terrific flavors, a feast so divine,With prices so low, it feels like a find.Quality so high, yet the cost stays slight,Service prompt and friendly, every bite a delight.Always accommodating, a staff so keen,Guiding new palates to tastes unseen. If Nepalese cuisine is what you seek,This place offers a peak.A journey of flavors, a guide so true,A dining experience that feels brand new.“
“During my trip from NYC to Washington DC, I stumbled upon a fantastic Indian restaurant. I ordered the Gosht Biryani and Lassi, and both were delicious. The prices were reasonable, and the service was quick and friendly. The food was served hot and fresh, making mine meal even more enjoyable. If you're in DC and craving Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit.“
“One of the tastiest Indian restaurants in the area!!! The owner Bokech (I really hope I spelled his name right if not I am so sorry!) is so kind and really cares about his customers and giving them great food! Every dish I’ve tried here is fantastic and I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a good late night bite :)“
“I found this small Indian restaurant while visiting Howard University on a Saturday afternoon to referee rugby match. They have a very large menu with all of the Indian basics. Even though I was alone, the food smelled so good that I decided to order 3 entrees to go. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Special combination, which came with a generous pile of different meats, including some chewy sausage-like things, some spicy lamb, and some excellent tandoori chicken (the meat was accompanied by some chickpeas in a sauce and spinach with cheese cubes in it). I also ordered a lamb vindaloo and a dal makhani (lentils). Both were excellent, but they are not joking when they say that their vindaloo is spicy -- it made me cry on at least two of the occasions I ate some of it (still have leftovers sitting in the refrigerator for tonight). The rice and the naan were also excellent. Total bill was just over $60.“
“Needed a quick lunch so had to stop on by. I got the their Chicken Tikka Masala which had large chunks of juicy chicken. The curry was decent, not the best I've had, but still very good for a fast meal. Hits the spot when craving Indian food.“
“I ate here tonight it was my first time eating Indian food and I was a visitor to DC I must say it is one of the best meals I've ever eaten in my life it was so delicious everything was so fresh I ate the whole bowl that's how good it was“
“We were a party of 8. I requested a round table for a special occasion when I made the reservation and we were given one in our own section of the restaurant. It was wonderful as it was easy to talk with everyone and you could speak at a normal level. The service is fantastic and they are always very helpful when it comes to deciding on the many different menu offerings.“
“Sacrificial Lamb is my go-to spot for takeout Indian/Pakistani cuisine in the neighborhood! Every time I order from them, I'm blown away by the quality and taste of their food. The butter chicken is simply divine, with its creamy texture and perfectly cooked chicken pieces. It's like a taste of heaven in every bite, and it's always consistent, even when enjoying it from the comfort of my own home.Their veggie pakora is also a standout dish for takeout. Despite being packaged for travel, the pakoras retain their crispiness and flavorful goodness, making them a delightful appetizer to enjoy before diving into the main course. Sacrificial Lamb's attention to detail and dedication to delivering delicious food make them my top choice for Indian takeout in the area. If you're craving authentic Indian or Pakistani flavors for takeout, look no further than Sacrificial Lamb!“
“Jyoti Indian Cuisine is by far one of the best traditional Indian cuisine restaurant in the DC area. As soon you walk in you are greeted with a vibrant atmosphere from the Indian/ modern music playing from the flat screen TV & surrounding speakers, to the painted murals + intricate trinkets hanging on the brick wall, & and warm hospitality from the employees. Our server Madeen was amicable & super helpful in explaining the items on the menu. We started off with the vegetable platter appetizer and included a trio of sauces; tamarind, mango chutney, green chutney. My personal favorite was the mango chutney, with a sweet, pungent spicy kick to it however all of them are rich in flavor. The drinks were great as well, would recommend getting the Alabama Slammer & Mai Tai.As our main course we ordered one of the most popular dishes recommended, the Tandoor Red Snapper along with the Lamb Seekh Kabob and Chicken Biriyani & choose mild as our preferred spice. We also had a side order of a yogurt sauce called Cucumber Raita & Garlic Naan. Not only was the presentation spotless, I kid you not every bite of those dishes did not disappoint. From the creaminess of the sauce served in the lamb, fish was grilled to perfection, & chicken biriyani was also tasty because the rice was blended with these aromatic spices that I am still trying to figure out! Flavors so complex yet it enriches your palette. The Garlic Naan came out fresh and hot, & just paired so well with the refreshing Cucumber Raita.I had the pleasure of meeting with the owner Shiva & I love how hands on he is within the restaurant & his employees. It truly was a lovely experience & definitely would come back to try out their vegetarian options!Vegetarian options: Dishes consisting of potatoes, lentils, basmati rice, samosas.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and Vegetarian options“
“Apparently, if you are an Indian food aficionado, you will not like this place. However, if you are a novice, the food is quite good. People are saying that it’s not as tasty as it should be… I thought it was quite good. The garlic naan is not quite as flavorful as some of the other breads I have had.“
“Enjoyed RASA opening day in Crystal City, Arlington, National Landing location. Many dining options with classic bowls and DIY selections. Food is superb and inexpensive, staff is fast, efficient and friendly. Start off with cocktails, blended with masala, cardamom, tamarind. Try the masala chai soft serve. Look forward to return visits, best wishes for continued success.“
“I don’t get the low rating, the food was amazing!!! We ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka, beef vindaloo, meat samosas, and mango lassi — everything was great! Rice was fluffy and coconut-y, and oh God the garlic naan… it was lightly crispy and very garlicky in the best way — typing this late at night is giving me cravings. The waiter was so patient in explaining the food to our friend who had never tried Indian food before, which was a big plus to me. Easily become one of my fav restaurant in the area! Disregard the weirdly low rating and try it out!“
“I quite enjoyed the chicken biryani ($20.90, tax included). The presentation was novel with naan as a bowl cover, which was then cut off to expose the biryani. It had generous tender chunks of chicken and I’m glad they did not shy away from the spices. The interior had a good contrast of the dark wood and the colorful mural-like wall coverings.“
“Rasa literally means, taste, flavor, sap, or juice. This is a Beautiful Indian restaurant with great authentic Indian spices in the food. The food was delicious.Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options. Stop by and check out the menu.“
“Good food and portions are generous. The service is very pleasant. The kids ate everything they ordered and they continue to ask can we order dinner from NY Pizza Grill. The delivery service is top notch. We will definitely be ordering from their menu again and often. So much to choose from and everything tastes great. Ordering from here makes our family happy“
“Wow! I was not expecting this place to be that good. I ordered the samosas, chicken makahni, garlic Naan, large rice, seekh kebab, and the Mango lassey. The rice was so fluffy and EVERYTHING was so fragrant and flavorful. I came in close to closing time, but the food quality was definitely not impacted. You can tell everything was fresh. I loved the spiciness of the chicken makahni. The craziest thing is ive lived next to this place for years and never knew it existed. I will be back!“
“The people are very nice there. I try the chicken tikka kathi roll. It was very good, but pretty small. I liked the green sauce too. Tried the fish on a seperate visit...comes with a little bit of potatoes. good but the portions here are too small, especially for the price.“
“This is one of my go to places for Indian food via DoorDash. I have never been to their restaurant, but enjoy ordering from my app as I have free delivery. Seems like combo is the way to go here. I ordered butter chicken combo which comes with two vegetarian sides. They have many options for sides. I prefer potato peas and chickpeas. Two of my favorite comfort vegetarian Indian food. Portion was good. Lots of rice. I really wish they included 1 naan with the order. I had to pay extra for the naan. They would have got 5 stars if the combo came with a naan. So much curry they offer in the combo, but the portion of the rice is not a lot. So to use the curry, we have to order the naan. Don't know much about the service or the ambiance as stated earlier.“
“One of our favorite Indian restaurants in DC! Everything we’ve tried at Daru (Chicken Tikka Masala, Daal, Paneer Tikka, Dahi Puri and of course the Garlic Naan) has been amazing. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommended!“
