The Gibson Reviews
Staff: great Menu: could be better Tip: utilize your server's knowledge + talent I'm grateful for the knowledgeable and talented server who assisted us: with just a couple of questions, she paired us with craft cocktails that were not on the menu but, really, were every bit worthy of being on the menu. Side note: I'm glad this place survived the pandemic. While it most certainty isn't anything like it's pre-pandemic hay day, I see potential for a good revival.
Squint at the door with an eye to leave the street chaos behind you. Yes, it is that door, just as (hopefully) unassuming as your expectations as a speakeasy. You find it unlocked.A friendly face greets you and finds you a place. The staff are knowledgeable and help you find a drink that suits your preferences. The ambiance offers you a recuse from Georgetown, if only for a while.
A true speakeasy !!! Hard to come by now that they are popularized. Unmarked door, looks like a vacant building. But once you get in it’s a pre-prohibition theme and they really stick to it - they won’t serve a drink that didn’t exist at that time (I.e. espresso martini). I recommend a reservation.Kid-friendliness: No, you cannot bring kids here. It’s pre-prohibition themed and nobody brought kids to the bars during that time.
