Isshin has one of the BEST service in Adams Morgan. May is the woman who always helps me. I think she’s the manager. She keeps that place running swiftly and smoothly. During the pandemic, Isshin made every effort to keep their place sanitized and customers safe by using PPE and placing hand sanitizers all around. The staff works super fast to get meals ready for you. They always go above and beyond to offer excellent service. I had to order spicy shrimp rice and I was going to arrive close to closing time, May kept Isshin open until I arrived (5 mins late) to pick up my food. I only live 3 blocks away but once I was not able to pick up my food from Isshin. May immediately said, “if you live close, I’ll deliver for you.” And she did just that and as usual with a very pleasant demeanor and genuine smile. May and her team at Isshin make this restaurant one of the best in Adams Morgan. Thank you May and Isshin!!!

This is my go-to DoorDash place in DC! The delivery is always fast. I love how you can specify white meat chicken, so orange chicken with white meat is my go-to. The portion is generous and I've never been disappointed! I only went here once in person and sat outside so I can't really speak to the ambiance. But if you're looking for a good takeout place, definitely recommend!

I got takeout here on a random weekday and it was pretty good. They have a great lunch special, where you get an entrée, rice, and an egg roll for about $10. So for the cost, it was great. I got the General Tso's chicken with fried rice. The chicken was flavorful and well cooked, and the fried rice was pretty good too. It also had some steamed broccoli in it, which was a nice touch and made me feel a bit better about eating fried food for lunch. I didn't love the egg roll, but that could just be personal preference. The food maybe wasn't anything to write home about, but for the cost it can't be beat.

Isshin Asian Bistro is a good spot for a weekday lunch. If you're looking for something quick, affordable, and tasty then Isshin's range of Asian options will do the trick. I had the basil chicken lunch combo, which comes with the entree, rice, and a spring roll. I also ordered the hot and sour soup and was not disappointed by any of the offerings. If you come around when they open, all the food is fresh and hot. I did takeout on a Wednesday and was impressed by the decent portion sizes and quality of the food. This isn't going to be the best Thai (or Chinese, or Japanese) food you ever eat but it does the trick. The basil chicken had plenty of vegetables including onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms, and came with a sizable portion of rice as well. The egg roll was your standard vegetarian egg roll with a nice crunchy coating and a forgettable but decent cabbage filling. The soup here is always excellent and is very filling as well.
Ordered twice on doordash in the last few weeks and really enjoyed my food! The sushi combos are a great deal and are very filling. LOVE the rock shrimp with pineapple. Haven't been to the location but will be ordering again!
