Restaurantji's Greenville guide: Where to find the ultimate Mexican flavors.
“Oh dear. I wish I had waited longer after eating from here to read some of the reviews lmao. We ordered from here for delivery last night so had no interaction with the waitstaff which sounds like is the problem in many of the poor reviews of this place. The food came within a standard period of time. We ordered the queso to start and I love the option to customize it with optional add ins. I've never seen that before and I order queso frequently, you can trust my queso qualifications. You also have the choice between 2 sizes, one very small you practically need a microscope to see it and another that is 16 oz and can probably be swum in. The latter is $20 which seems a little bit extravagant for an appetizer, unless you are ordering for a crowd. Needless to say, I took the smaller option. Regarding the flavor, it was tasty, I just wish there was more of it. I took advantage of the add in options and selected jalapenos which were a really nice spicy contrast to the queso. For my main, I ordered the "trio vegetarianas" with a cheese enchilada, bean burrito, and chalupa. As a picky bitch I am LIVING for their customization options. I usually have to put up with onions and mushrooms in my mexican vegetarian dishes but they, on the ordering screen, give you the option of of omitting both of these things, among other things. I don't know if any of the things i ordered would have had either and if not, I can't say whether they would actually accommodate my requests but even the thought of adding something like that is awesome. I will also say I very much enjoyed this dish. I would have appreciated a side of rice or beans or something, neither of which were present. I have to add though that the food was luke warm AT BEST and I'm being generous. The cheese was completely solid. I can't completely blame this on the restaurant though, our delivery person had to drop something else off first but I'm thrilled to reflect on how long our food was just sitting around before it made its way to us. GF ordered spinach quesadillas. She says, "it could be better, it wasn't quite as crispy as I like". Wow! She must be in a good mood providing much more detail than her usual "it was good". I've been on a real sugar kick lately and tried to anticipate my desire for dessert by ordering the churros. They have a bunch of other dessert options if that doesn't tickle your fancy. The churros were pretty good, a little raw on the inside which now, after reading some of the reviews, is making me nervous. Keep your fingers crossed for me.“
“I worked in food and beverage management half my life. This place was one that we have been to in a long time where the service was top notch! Our serve was amazing. Food was fresh. The most important thing was my husband had an issue with his food and instead of just having the server apologize the manager actually came and apologized and brought the food out herself within 3 minutes! I do not see that very often anymore. Servers typically get thrown in and fends for themselves while the manager sits around and avoids the conflict. Abby our server was fantastic!“
“THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER. I’ve gone here for my birthday for the past several years and they never cease to amazing me. Their drinks, fajitas, and burritos are all incredible, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is spectacular. If you enjoy being happy, go here. I guarantee it will not disappoint.“
“Impromptu visit while in town for a softball event and pleasantly surprised! Absolutely perfect!! From service to food and the delicious margaritas!! Will return for sure if back in town!Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian and vegan options available“
“Absolute best authentic tacos I’ve ever had. I go here once a week for our weekly out to dinner meal. The service is always fast and the food is fresh and delicious. Like nothing I’ve had around here before. The chips and salsa matter to me and these do not disappoint! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Check them out if you want to find your new favorite taco spot.“
“Wow! What a pleasant surprise this place is. Get the Burria Tacos they are delicious! Delightful shredded beef tacos where the shell is cooked in the broth. To top it off they give you a cup of Ajou to dip them in and oh my God it is amazing! This restaurant has menu items unlike any other place around and they are all great. The one area they need to improve on is wiping down tables after diners leave. Every time we go to sit down the table is dirty from previous diners. The counter employees are doing nothing and often on their phones yet the tables are unclean. I don't appreciate eating food on a dirty table.“
“If you're craving tacos it's one of the best spots to stop in the area!Fresh blue corn tortillas and a variety of meat options, with traditional topings ♡ ? The service is always excellent and they have a picnic table available outside that seats 6 adults comfortably. Its a walk-up window and most people get their food to-go.I recommend their beef tacos with cilantro and onion and pair it with a pineapple Jarritos soda ?Parking: It's in a shopping center near many other businesses so there is plenty of free parking in the lots“
“Went there for lunch and it was our first time visiting. Service was great, food was a little slow but worth the wait. The free chips they give you are a little thicker than most places and topped with refries beans and a white cheese sauce. My wife and I both ordered the Burrito Del Mar and they were large and stuffed with fish, shrimp, scallops, onions and peppers and smothered in a white cheese sauce. The burrito also can with a second full plate of rice, refried beans and salad. I could barely finish mine and my wife took half of hers home for dinner later. Great first experience and look forward to going back to try their tacos.“
“Love this location, they are generous with portions, all ingredients are always available! Staff is always kind!I prefer to eat El Diablo over Chipotle any day!! Variety of ingredients and their amazing sauces (honey jalapeno and red pepper walnut are divine)“
“As someone who lives in Delaware there isn’t a lot of good Mexican food and honestly haven’t found any restaurant that I actually like. But when I came here to La Parrillada that’s when I finally found good Mexican food as close to perfection. I order a torta de milanesa that was really good and filling. Usually when I order tortas there would always be a con like it being to messy or not enough toppings or flavor even, making me pick out things from my food. But this torta was perfect it was flavorful and also had something that was a little different being the fried cheese that really gave it a nice flavor. I also got churros that had filing as a dessert and there were warm and delicious.“
“Have visited this place more than once and enjoyed each visit. The owner and people working there are very kind and the food is made fresh to order. Our staples are:Chips and pico de gallo - hot crispy fresh made chips with the most flavorful pico de galloEnchiladas platter - always delicious with bright and deep flavors that have a great kick in terms of heat and the rice and beans are very flavorfulTacos - our favorite is the fried pork but we love all the meat optionsNext time promise to add pictures since we devoured it so quickly we missed the opportunity“
“Candace and Taste of Puebla catered our after wedding guest picnic in KSQ. The out of town guests raved about the great food and how it was the best Mexican they’d had. Candace was very accommodating and great to work with. Highly recommend for a great meal at a reasonable price!“
“My husband and I tried this place. The place is big and it looks very modern. We found out they are open for parties and celebrations. They play Latin music and it has a good vibe. It wasn’t too loud so you can actually have conversations without shouting.Food is fantastic. Our server recommended the “cóctel de camarón” (shrimp cocktail), so we decided to share one. It was sooo good that we had to get more. The Mexican street corn was also very good.We had fish fajitas. I never saw that dish in a menu, so we went for it. We made the right choice. The fajitas were absolutely delicious, we both loved it. Just the right amount of salt. I’m not a big fan of the Mexican rice but I tried this one and was actually good.My husband had a tequila sunrise and loved it.In general, we really liked this place, the service and vibe. Will definitely visit it again next time we go to Delaware.“
“Authentic tasty mexican food. At a good price. Try the torta de milanesa (thin sliced breaded chicken) with everything. Which comes with Oaxaca cheese and sliced avocado. Its the best!!! My daughter had a pozole plate which she enjoyed a lot.“
“This place has exceptional Mexican food! Make sure to get the pambazo, the sopes, and the lamb consommé! The fries leave something to be desired so I recommend the rice beans or churro as a side! The tacos are also delicious and we dip everything in the consume. I am drooling typing this! The flan and the horchata are also delicious! If you order in person you can get all different meats for the sope and taco meals (each come with 3) if you haven't been here you are missing out!“
“Can't remember the name, so I'll just call it the pulled pork street nachos are freaking delicious. Great price. Think it was around $12 for it. (Got them a couple of weeks ago & forgot to post about it). They only take cash or venmo.“
“Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in South Jersey! We travel 45 minutes just to eat here ♡ If you're looking to experience tasteful authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the place to visit. My family and I enjoy every meal we've tried here. Not only is the food exquisite but the staff is friendly with great customer service. First 2024 dinner... yes, it's that good. ?“
“I rarely eat Spanish food - but I had a craving & I've been wanting to try Barria for a long time. (Sorry if mispelled) this was the BEST Spanish food I ever had. Lol. Idk what those green sauces were but they were SO good ! I loved every single bite ! The serving sizes was enough for me to eat lunch & save some for dinner.“
“The burritos at this place are absolutely phenomenal! I can't get enough of them. The real standout, though, is the cook named Lev. His attention to detail and the way he crafts each burrito with care and precision is truly something to behold. Every bite is a burst of delicious flavors that are expertly combined thanks to Lev's incredible talent. I find myself coming back just to see what new creations Lev has in store. His skills truly elevate the dining experience to a whole new level. I can't recommend this place enough, and I owe it all to Lev's fantastic work!"“
“You can get a lot of food here for a good price, especially impressed by the burrito size and integrity. I also appreciate the simplicity of ordering something by simply picking the protein and form you want it to come in. I do wish they had more vegan protein options like tofu or seitan or vegan cheeses and spread alternatives rather than just removing dairy containing ingredients.“
“The best burritos ever! Anytime we’re ever passing through the area, stopping here is a must. If we’re within an hour or 2 of our trip route, we know we’re stopping in for amazing food and service at a fair price! We live in northern NJ, so this means anytime we’re heading to VA, or DC or anywhere near Baltimore or Philly, we’re getting some delicious burritos! ? highly recommended“
“A truly intoxicating experience. Never have I felt more love and appreciation from such a viable and respectful establishment. From the moment I witnessed those women curate those burritos, I knew that my mere existence would forever be changed. For once in my life I was a fresh and toasty tortilla that subsequently would be filled with compassion in the form of a cheesy bean & chicken medley. I won’t stop until this place is granted a Michelin Star ⭐️ take a 3rd mortgage out on your home and use the proceeds to this place. Trust my words.“
“We wanted Mexican food, and we walked in and ordered from Mr. Taco. The food was freshly made. The young men working there are very nice. We had a veggie burrito and BBQ chicken burrito. Both were fresh and delicious. We also had chips and salsa. The chips and our order were prepared while we waited. We definitely will be returning soon.“
“After much fanfare and hoopla, I decided to give this Mexican joint a visit. I ordered the chorizo tacos and they were delish except for the price tag of $14 for three tacos. The food was fresh and the layout did remind me of a Chipotle restaurant. One of the employees served me green salsa in lieu of the habernero salsa and I was upset that the employee didn't know the difference. As with most Mexican restaurants in the area, no complimentary chips/salsa or beans & rice. They did let me try the carne asada and I would like to give it a try on my next visit. I am not going to rush my return to this joint but will try in the next 30 days.“
“The best Mexican restaurant in the area..The staff is amazing and food is always piping hot. Their menu is so simple and it’s very easy to order over the phone. The food always gets ready in 15-20 mins. It’s been my go to spot from last 1 year for a quick bite.Their chicken burrito is so damn good.“
“I went, and I gotta Carnitas Burrito. 1. There’s only meat in the burrito. 2. The carnitas were dry and hard to chew on. No scour cream, no lettuce, just a side of beans and rice for 20$$??!!! And also THIS PLACE GIVES U CHORRILLO, (DIARREA)!!!!“
“Mexican Table has always been my go to for local Mexican Food. I love the shredded beef chimichanga!! I normally order Togo but just saw they updated some of their decor and their booths. I can't wait to come and eat dinner in the restaurant!“
“Drinks, laughs, fun! My time at the cactus cantina was one for the books! atmosphere 10/10. people 12/10. what else could you ask for. Aiden the bartender, good people. Enter the Cactus Cantina is equivalent to entering the door to Narnia, but more fun and with alcohol.“
“The food is great the host is amazing I think her name was Fiorella the last couple times I've gone I haven't seen her around you guys need more employees like her she's polite and every welcoming 5 stars to her hope to see you guys“
“We went to this Restaurant Mobil and although it was a rainy day it would have been much better to be able to eat at the tables they have right there but since it was a Sunday they needed several weekend dishes and fresh water, there was only the basics and certain meats , tacos, cakes, etc.One of the managers explained to us the variety of new dishes they handled and gave samples, but we were looking for something more so it would be good if they applied the famous saying that it is better to have more and not what is missing but in general the food tastes good, the tortillas They are handmade and the sauces are for true spicy lovers.“
“I live next to Michoacana Grill and order food from them all the time. I've lived next to them for a long time, and their menu has changed very little. But that is a good thing, because their menu works! If you like fish, the fish tacos are incredible! I usually get the chicken tacos, though, because I can get 4 chicken tacos cheaper than the three fish tacos you get. I'm sure you can add more to your order. The portions are incredible, and you don't have to worry about going home hungry. If you like pico and corn salsa, ask them to drain them well. Sometimes, when they are busy, they don't drain them well, and my tortillas are very wet. Since I've asked them to do that, my food has been consistently great! My only suggestion is to have a working customer loyalty program. I've been going there for many years and fairly often, and I haven't gotten one free taco/burrito... Highly recommend this place. I recommend it to people I know all the time.Parking: Has about 8 parking spots that you can easily pull in and out. Sometimes, their overflow ends up in my private residential parking. I've never complained, though, because they have no control over it. There is usually plenty of street parking.“
“This restaurant was a 10/10 I kid you not. Me and my husband was driving by and seen this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were greeted so kindly at the door by a gentlemen. One thing I can say as long as I known my husband he never gets full! The fact he was full off of one item of the menu completely surprised me. Everything was perfectly in price range and reasonable, and the quality was here to match it! Totally recommend a 1000x over!“
“Loved the authentic taste and the service was phenomenal! Wasn't too hungry the first visit but everything tasted so great that I had to come back for more, and the lady was great about helping pick and choose items to try out a variety of stuff. Definitely recommend checking it out, and I know I'm stopping by again next time I'm in town!Kid-friendliness: Very family oriented restaurantParking: Plenty of spots all around“
“Late, weekday lunch for two, after spending morning at local tourist attraction. No dessert or alcohol. Service staff were friendly and helpful. We both had menu Jambalaya; it was very good! Coffee (both with and without) was quickly available and very tasty.Parking was available, but very tight and few spots available.I would definitely return if we are in area again to go to the same attraction.“
