You want it, you got it. If you want a taste of the South while in a Mid-Atlantic city. Then Evelyn's is your spot. I ordered the catfish dinner with a side of Mac & cheese and collard greens.The catfish was prepared to perfection, just enough breading, just the right season and zero bones!The Mac was flavorful (think cheddar with a zing) and the collards were prepared with love. FAIR PRICES! One of the few places downtown that has affordable and reasonably priced food and add-ons. No complaints here. Flavorful and not over-cooked nor under-cooked. It may not have the most appealing appearance in and out, but it's generally clean and the food is good, and that's what matters. They are friendly too!

First off, walking into Evelyn's reminded me of walking into a catfish restaurant in Mississippi. (That's a good thing)I was greeted pleasantly and was engaged in small conversation while taking my order. It felt genuine and personable.
