“Allow me to share my recent dining experience at Sunshine Seafood Café in the picturesque haven of Captiva, Florida. From the moment I stepped onto the sun-kissed porch, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. The Ambiance is cozy and welcoming! Missy: A Shining Star: Let me introduce you to the heart of this establishment: Missy. She’s not just a server; she’s a magician who weaves hospitality into every interaction. Fresh catches, vibrant produce—it’s a seafood lover’s dream. I savored the Chilean Sea Bass, a masterpiece that melted on my tongue. Missy’s recommendation, of course. The Brussels Sprout appetizer with bacon and goat cheese? Divine. Sunshine’s wine selection is a treasure trove. Missy guided me to a French Rosé that danced with my meal. Her knowledge and enthusiasm elevated the experience. Highly recommend.”
“Even though the area is still recovering after Hurricane Ian, the food is quite good! Good portions for the price! Very fresh tasting tacos as well as rice and beans! Would come back if in the area again!”
“Great choice for dinner. Enjoyed outdoor dining. Nice wine selection and some inventive specialty cocktails. We enjoyed the Chicken Gruyère and Cedar Plank Salmon. Very attentive service. Had to circle around a few times to find a parking spot but we were successful! Highly recommend.”
“Wonderful meal and service as always but more crowded than usual so it slowed the food coming out and bar was packed so noise level was high. Always great and always our first dinner on the island when we get here!”
“Great British style pub on the ocean front with great views for the sunset in the evening. Very busy but not overly noisy. Would go back again whenever I'm on the island.”
“We arrived at Tween Waters pretty late and we were happy that the Shipyard was still open. Frank was our server and was excellent. We ordered the ceviche for an appetizer and it was excellent! We both then ordered the grilled grouper sandwich and it was very good as well. It suffered by comparison to Lazy Flamingo's Mesquite grilled grouper sandwich but it's still a great sandwich.”
“This was a great Starbucks location! Location was clean and the baristas were fast and even walked our drinks to us from behind the counter. They also were consistent with any other Starbucks.”
“Was in Captiva last week and had breakfast there 3 times. Mikayla was our server twice and she was just excellent! Our food was very good each day as well. We will be back!”
“We ordered Pizza via phone from Captiva Island Pizza--16" Cheese, 16" pepperoni. It was outstanding. One of best pepperoni pizzas I've had. Juicy, perfect dough.Captiva Island Pizza had it ready for pickup exactly when specified. Highly recommend.”
“We stopped in at Mango's for lunch by boat a few Saturday's ago and it was absolutely the highlight of my trip to SW Florida. The turquoise water around Captiva is incredible!! It was a bit tricky to navigate our way into the marina, but we figured it out without trouble. The harbormaster at the marina was really friendly and helpful with getting us to our boat slip.It was just a short walk to Mango's, which was definitely busy but we were able to get seating for the 6 of us pretty quickly. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. I recommend the chilled lobster roll and grouper bites.”
“Service was excellent. From initial greeting by hostess to wait staff attention. Just right, not too much. Only complaint was the cloudy weather. We will have to come back on a sunny evening at the bar. Many thanks”
“This place is the real deal. They have real frozen custard! The vanilla custard had a nice mouth feel and was creamy. The staff were super friendly and gave us our product with exceptional service. A Sanibel gem!”
“Great place to stop by for a great meal. I had the smoked ruben on special and it was one of the best sandwiches ive had. Homemade coleslaw is really delicious. But i tried a burger and it was like biting into my first burger ive had it was tooo amazing i wish i lived closer to the blue dog because if your looking for an amazing place as a go to look no further this is the place 10/10”
“Very nice, busy with takeout, but still nice and quiet on porch and deck! Many fancy pastries to tantalize you. Egg and cheese croissant was fantastic. Very friendly ,We will be back !”
“We were pleasantly surprised !Group of 9 on a busy Sunday we still got in right away. Service was fantastic and food came out promptly. Good selection of local beers, delicious cocktails for a great price (highly recommend the toasted coconut colada ) Shrimp and grits were phenomenal, flavor and cooking was on point. Fish sandwich was excellent, very fresh, sweet potato fries were worth the up charge. Southwest salad with blackened shrimp was large and full of good quality ingredients, they did not skimp on the good stuff:) their signature Yucatán shrimp was fun as a starter, nicely shared amongst 4 people. Crab cakes and coleslaw were great app or enough for a meal, nice balance of flavors good amount of crab. All closed out nicely with a key-lime coconut candy as you walk out the door. We will be back!Vegetarian options: Easy to make adjustments to options if neededDietary restrictions: Easy to make adjustments to options if neededWheelchair accessibility: Nice ramp at the front”
“We have dined here many times; having found it a few years ago as we are from Maine. The atmosphere, food, service, and feeling of stepping back in time make dining here a memorable experience. We brought visitors from Maine and, like us, loved the experience. We'll be back soon!”
“This was our second time there and yet again we left feeling full and happy! The wait staff is attentive, the music was great and the food was amazing. The staff goes above and beyond making my toddler son feel welcomed and special each time he goes there. Can’t wait to go back and try more things on the menu and see familiar friendly faces :)”
“Excellent breakfast (especially the Cajun Skillet), great sourdough toast, and the staff is friendly. The specially flavored self serve coffee is always a treat.”
“This is where the locals eat on Pine Island. Good food at reasonable prices. Daily specials with a good beverage selection. Save room for dessert! Florida at it's friendly best.”
“Best Mexican in the area! Excellent portions. Lots of protein! Great flavor. No alcohol or margaritas. You can get water and sodas, including Jarritos! They are the real deal. It is a food truck style, still they have set up tables under a canopy. Love this place.”
“Dining at Cielo was an exquisite culinary journey marked by exceptional craftsmanship and unparalleled service. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted warmly. The ambiance was inviting, with soft lighting and tasteful decor setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The pianist Scott McDonald’s skill was truly remarkable, effortlessly weaving together classical masterpieces and contemporary tunes with finesse and passion. Each note seemed to dance through the room, captivating our senses and igniting our emotions. The menu, a testament to the chef's dedication to innovation and quality, offered a tantalizing array of options to suit every palate. From the delicate flavors of the calamari fritti appetizer to the indulgent richness of the main course which included the Pan Roasted Ora King Salmon and the Porcini and White Truffle Ravioli with added scallops, every bite was a symphony of taste! But what truly set Cielo apart was the impeccable service. Attentive without being intrusive, our server Mathew, anticipated our every need, offering knowledgeable recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were always full. The staff worked seamlessly together, creating a dining atmosphere that was both refined and relaxed. In every aspect, from the cuisine to the service, Cielo exceeded our expectations for my birthday dining choice. It's clear that this establishment is committed to excellence in every detail, and we left feeling not just satisfied, but truly pampered. We can't wait to return and experience the culinary delights and impeccable hospitality once again.”
“Love thIs cozy restaurant with great hospitality and fine French cuisine..good value wine list and interesting menu...call ahead for reservations during season..you will need a bit of bread or spoon to finish the sauces from your plate..”
“I ordered a gyros sandwich and fries. The gyros was close to the Chicago gyros. Best gyros that I’ve had in SWFL. The fries were great and they give you a huge portion. I will be back to try their Maxwell St. polish sausage.”
“So, so good! There are plenty of flavor options on both ice cream and gelato. Plus baked goods! Try a sundae with the hot fudge on the side so the ice cream doesn't melt as fast. I can honestly say the ice cream has smoother textures and more outstanding flavors than the other local homemade ice cream company.”
“I was invited here by a friend who lives in the area. Don’t think I’ve ever noticed it before as it is very low profile. It is a true locals bar/hangout with basic beers and a few quick ets.”
“Great lunchtime stop at Phuzzy's on a beautiful day! We were set outside right by the canal after about a 20 min wait. I had the crab corn chowder to start, which was delicious. For my main lunch, I opted for one of the specials, the 10 jumbo shrimp grilled in their honey orange blossom sauce. The shrimp was very tasty and loved their original sauce - not at all overly sweet, perfect balance of tang and sweet. My party shared a slice of their key lime pie, it skews towards the sweeter size just to know. Our server, Fernando, was very attentive and checked in on us often (despite it being so busy!) to make sure we had what we needed. The bar did seem to be a bit backed up when we went, so drinks did come out a bit slower. Would recommend for a fun place to grab some food and watch the boats on the canal!”
“We have dined here many times; having found it a few years ago as we are from Maine. The atmosphere, food, service, and feeling of stepping back in time make dining here a memorable experience. We brought visitors from Maine and, like us, loved the experience. We'll be back soon!”
“I came in just before the restaurant was closing with a large party of friends, (5 Adults and 11 Children). The restaurant was very accommodating and gave us three tables to share. From start to finish, we had amazing service, and the food was outstanding. Our server, Chris was a godsend with all of the kids and he even made them all special desserts at the end of the night so they didn’t feel left out when my friends and I ordered our desserts! Everyone had a blast! They were doing a karaoke night so all of the kids and our husbands were singing and dancing up a storm! We Picked the perfect spot on Sanibel to end our day! Absolutely delicious food, outstanding service, and an overall outstanding experience and great time!”
“What a cool place to stop. It’s pricey, but that’s to be expected of a restaurant only accessible by boat. The burger was excellent but I sure wish they had fries to go with it. Nonetheless, the potato salad was tasty. If you’re boating in the area, it’s a must see.”
“We felt lucky to get into this awesome little spot! Make a reservation. Besides the pool bar, this was the only restaurant open on the island. We started our meal with beef barley soup. It was rich and delicious. Perfect. I'd go back just for that soup. My husband had sea bass with mashed potatoes and green beans for his entree. I had wild mushroom ravioli, smothered in a shredded chicken and vodka sauce. The sea bass was perfectly cooked and the ravioli was sooo filling. The sauce reminded me a little of my Dad's chicken cacciatore. Old school flavor. We shared a piece of key lime pie with fresh whipped cream to finish out the meal. Memorable place, great service. Perfect for our last night on the island! Note - BYOB. They do have water and soft drinks. Don't miss this one!”
