Always the best place to go...but not this morning... I just paid over $27.00 for coffee that was too strong to drink and eggs that were not cooked all the way! I am at home sick as a dog now- LAST time I will EVER be eating ANYTHING from this place!! I can throw my money away without making myself I'll from raw food.
Known for their baked goods which the muffins are incredible . My favorites are Bavarian and lemon poppyseed. As far as actual breakfast it is greasy to me. Personally not a fan. Ordered a croissant and it was drenched in grease , soggy and looked honestly like someone ran over it cause it was flat as can be. Only good thing was the crispy bacon. I normally like light breakfasts any way so I wouldn't sit and eat an actual meal from them but will be coming back for the baked goods.
We were looking for a mom and pop shop to enjoy breakfast and this was closed to were we where staying. Grateful to found it. Everything we ordered was delicious. Service was great.
Love their muffins!!! They are huge & delicious! Every time I visit family or friends, I bring them a dozen muffins. It's a great treat and something uniquely Gainesville. Love that they've been around as long as I can remember.
Awesome food..awesome staff. Loyal customer since they were in the Oaks Mall Plaza.. The Mill Bakery and Eatery.. 20+years ago!
I have never had a "bad" meal at this restaurant. The food is always cooked exactly how I want it and are accommodating when it comes to substitutions. The staff are always polite and attentive.Today I really wanted biscuits, gravy, and bacon. Since breakfast is served all day I knew this would be the perfect place to eat.You also know it's good because it is always busy with regulars.
Wow, even on a busy Father’s Day… this team sat my family of 5 in under 15 min with a packed house. Food was like my grandmothers cookin… with love. Good job gals
My visit: Saturday, midmorning breakfast. The restaurant was full, but no waiting for a table. The wait staff were FULLY organized, and in control. Let me start by saying that the service was excellent. The servers were attentive, without being imposing, and very cheerful, eager to please, and engaging. The menu is pretty good, and the bakery selection, while geared toward youngsters with an uncontrolled sweettooth (mostly fruit/crumb muffins), LOOKED excellent, although not seeing any adult options (like bran, corn, banana/nut etc), I opted out, so I can't attest to what they tasted like. The only problem (and it's a big one) is the kitchen. I ordered a scramble, and I asked for the potatoes to be very well done (I was emphatic, and the server did put it on the ticket), and I agreed to pay extra for spinach to be added (she did NOT put that on the ticket). I ordered it with "over very lightly" eggs, and we'll buttered toast. It arrived VERY quickly (too quickly), and sure enough, the potatoes were barely cooked. The rest looked great, except I also could find no trace of the spinach. I SHOULD have quilt whilst I was ahead, and eaten it, but they happily agreed to remake it. Sadly, when it returned, although the potatoes were properly cooked/crisp, they did it by drowning it in grease (trying to rush the browning), the eggs were way overcooked this time (nearly hard-fried), there were a FEW bits of the spinach I THOUGHT I was PAYING extra for, (I didn't realize yet, that the server hadn't put it on the ticket) and the toast, having sat on the table this whole time, was room temp.I ate most of the scramble, and left the toast and browned eggs behind. I also left the POWDERED mix cappuccino behind (I wish places would either invest in REAL espresso machines, or not claim to make cappuccinos & lattes). My other criticism is regarding the grits. This is the South. Somebody in that kitchen should know that if you can invert the cup of grits, and remove the cup, and it holds its shape like a Jello mold, your grits are just a tad too thick (by a factor of about a hundred). Some salt in those grits wouldn't go amiss, either. They were devoid of moisture AND flavor. In short, this place has great potential. They obviously have a great baker on staff, and have hired & trained terrific wait staff, but the kitchen line cook(s) show(s) a serious lack of experience, with poor execution...and when your thing is serving breakfast to yuppies, buy a decent espresso machine. For basic breakfast fare, it's acceptable...but so is the Waffle House on the corner...and they don't serve grits you can stand a spoon straight up in.
The ABSOLUTE best muffins in all of north central Florida. Service is good and everything they serve is fresh. Their sandwiches will “knock you socks off” made with fresh ingredients and wonderful homemade pumpernickel swirl bread - so good you would eat it all by itself
I love stopping here when visiting UF for medical appointments. Their food is great and the service is wonderful.
I’ve been several times for breakfast and lunch and the food is always great! You must go to eat and take some fresh bakery muffins to go.
The place is great!!! I love it. I would give it 6 STARS but 5 is the Max. They have the best muffins with a variety of different flavors also. Great for the office instead of cheap DD..
