This was the first time we’ve been to this restaurant as we were just passing through town for the night. Our dining experience was excellent. The service and food was delicious . If we ever get back to Gainesville We will visit this restaurant again. I highly recommended this place. Must try.
The food was amazing, grilled to perfection and just the way you ask. Delicious seafood and steak options as well as a excellent wine list. Atmosphere was also pleasant and service was great. Family oriented but with a touch of romance. Adorable garden style outdoor seating around a fountain also an option.
Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by visiting Embers for the first time. Absolutely amazing! Our sever, Melvin, was spectacular! We plan to bring the whole family for a holiday dinner later this year.
On a scale of documentaries to fluffy romance novels, Embers Wood Grill is The Great Gatsby in opulence and styling. From a red carpet leading into the restaurant to the cloth towels in the bathroom, no detail is overlooked, but the true decadence comes from the menu and drinks.Everything about Embers Wood Grill blew me away. Our group was seated at a large circular table (we were a group of eight), and our server offered impeccable service, providing information and well-timed humor. While I wish I could say I'm a wine connoisseur, I'm not. I chose my wine simply by the cost, and the $20 glass of red wine was amazing. Most red wine causes me painful heartburn, but this red wine did not (how I wish I knew the exact wine it was).We shared a seafood platter appetizer, and each seafood item was cooked to perfection. It melted in the mouth in the best possible way.Embers lives up to its promises with its steak, and I don't know if I'll ever experience another steak that's quite that good! The sides of mac n' cheese and vanilla sweet potatoes were pure bliss, and I'll be dreaming of those for days to come.If you ever have the opportunity to visit Embers Wood Grill, I absolutely suggest it. The prices are steep, but the food and service is exquisite.
We had an amazing dining experience at Embers. From the Crab Bisque, The Ribeye, Garlic Mashed Potatos, and The crème brû·lée. The waiter was great, the manager came by and checked in on us, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We also hat Short Ribs, Seared Tuna, Sea Bass, and more. The reason everything was so good was the preparation and the Wood Fired Grill. Yes Gainesville has a Five Star Steakhouse, so you need to go.
We truly had one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. We were a party of 12 and the service was beyond outstanding as was the food. I highly recommend this restaurant!
we waited almost an hour in between the appetizer and dinner. my chicken was way over cooked and dry and I'm not really sure what else was on my plate kinda like everything mushed together. thank God for the bread and wine. we would not go back.
So, we went for the first time tonight, for a birthday dinner. The good: The food was great. The atmosphere is great. The whole experience is choreographed. But that's part of the problem. They freeze and get stupid if the choreography goes off. We ordered a prosecco and a dessert. After 15 minutes of sipping my prosecco and watching our waiter not get our dessert, I got up. I indicated my irritation, but there was literally no acknowledgement that there was an issue. He brought another birthday dessert, but it was just flat and uncomfortable. After having read multiple reviews about management indifference, I knew better than to complain any further. And we tipped the requisite 20%; i didn't Karen on anything. Here's the thing. We've been to another place in town, Mark's Prime, many times. NEVER an issue. I won't be back to Embers, but I'll always use Mark's for special occasions. Major fail.
Spouse and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. Our server was super nice and helped us make great selections. We recommend the Ceasar salad. Spouse said the steak was the best they ever had! Position sizes were plenty...even had leftovers.
Wonderful atmosphere and food. It was my first time eating there and it didn't disappoint! Ask for Melvin, he made the dining experience that much better!
This place is horrible no kids menu utterly ridiculous they barely have food for the kids they starvin us only 3 options seriously??? And look at all these options on this adult menu no respect
Great service, food and atmosphere.
Wonderful meal. Best filet ever..cooked to perfection. Lobster mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes were amazing, and the lemon layer cake was delicious. Truly a 5 star dinner. Worth every cent! Waiters were great as well.
Came here on a recommendation on a Friday night. The service was okay except that every recommendation the waitress made was anything very expensive on the menu (not genuine). The food was decent but not worth the high price compared to other fine dining restaurants. We had the grouper & the surf and turf. Decent but not memorable. I don't see us returning often if at all. For over $100 for 2 people with no drinks I expect more.
Went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Food was great and service was even better! Mervin was our waiter and he was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had.
