We were glad to find a restaurant open on Monday evening, Harry’s is in downtown Gainesville. It was not busy on Monday evening. Our meals of Blackened Shrimp Salad was very tasty. Lots of shrimp, fresh greens, and plump cranberries. The Red Fish was good, too. The average rating was due to the restaurant being out of sync. Our meals arrived before our drinks. There were multiple staff at the hostess stand when we arrived but we had to ask for our waiter. He was very good once he came to our table. The other concern were the menus had been cleaned so much several items were not readable having been washed off. Attention to detail would be helpful.Parking: Free street parking after 5PM.

I'm unable to provide a food review, as I never ordered, as we walked out after being overlooked by the server. We were cordially greeted by the hostess and seated. We were never acknowledged by a server. A family of 4 was seated after us and before they could get comfortable in their seats a server was at their table. This family was seated across from us. He, the server took there drink order and walked by to the kitchen, never even acknowledging us. This ruined my appetite, so we left. The server was a young Caucasian male, we're middle age and african american.

I was famished, and absolutely devoured lunch. The fried green tomatoes were great, the sauce they pair with them diminishes the dish though. A simple garden salad with vinaigrette hit the spot, making way for the grouper. Absolutely delicious. Service was superb as well. I finished with a slice of key lime pie. Whatever colored sweet sauce on the plate was, was not necessary. The pie speaks for itself.

Nice ambiance. Well attentive staff. New Orleans style. We'll be back.

Our experience at Harry's was excellent!! We ordered the crab cakes and fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. They were both good but the sauce definitely helped out. The blackened redfish and honey bourbon salmon were delicious! The side of rice was okay, but not the best. The service was super quick and our waitress was very attentive. We would definitely go back.

Second time I've been here and absolutely loved it! First night I came on a girls night out. Today I brought my husband because the food was so good. Wished I would have taken pictures. The baked stuff shrimp are to die for. My husband ordered the mahi mahi and it was so good. Gumbo was great and portioned well. The service was spectacular! We were seated immediately and our waiter was to the point. Kind and provided great service. We never had an empty glass. He made sure we were taken care of! Next time we come back we will be requesting Aaron!

I had a blackend grouper dish with red beans and rice. A friend had the French baked scallops and grit cakes. While my grouper was delicious the scallops were even better. I cant wait to go back and get an order of the scallops all to myself.

I had dinner here Saturday night with my family and the food was absolutely delicious! We loved every dish and split a bunch of appetizers also and everything everyone got was cooked to perfection and delicious. The restaurant is very nice and a great location. The only thing I could not give five stars to was the service as our waitress did not come by our table too often at all so we were waiting around for drink refills and the check at the end. But other than that everything was great.

Such a cute place downtown. I came here with my dad during graduation weekend and we were well attended to and there was a car show going on as well. It was a great environment indoors and outdoors, and it was classy but not pretentious, with delicious food.

This was the best meal I had in Gainsville. The service exceeded my standards. The food was delicious.. and I felt like I was in the French Quarter in NOLA. The drink was not stingy at all. The food was hot and so tasty. The crab cakes were fresh, and their ramaloud sauce is very good. The stuffed shrimp with crab and red beans tasted authentic. I recommend a stop while in Gainaville.

We stopped at Harry’s for cocktails and an appetizer before moving on to our next adventure. The restaurant was tastefully decorated, piping New Orleans jazz with a lovely spacious floor plan giving an upscale feel with modest prices! (It’s happy hour all day!) Matthew was very attentive, he answered all of our questions regarding drinks and apps. He even asked us about our drink preference to help him make a better recommendation. Drinks and food were both amazing! We had a Big Easy, Blackberry Bramble & Shrimp and crawdad fondue - delicious! Unfortunately, I am not from the area to return often; but I highly recommend Harry’s for date night, girls night or any night!

Harry’s gives chains a good name. Good food for the price with substantial quantities. Dog friendly is a plus. Service was very friendly.

Atmosphere:Jazz music gives the place a nice high-end feel.Food:Calamari: Only rings. Amazing crisp, and a great sauce to pair up with. Fried green beans were a nice touch.Shrimp and Grits:Nice take on the grits, and plating. The shrimp with the sauce and the grits on the drier side. I thought it worked well. If you happen to want more sauce, I'm sure you can request more.Shrimp and Scallops: I really enjoyed the grit cake, essentially fried grit triangles of just over an inch thick. I thought the flavor and texture were great, though my partner found the meal a bit dry. She requested the Baked French scallops sauce, which worked out well for her. The collard greens were a bit too spicy for her but the sauce also helped her there.Oreo BeignetsQuite good. Not extremely sweet, nice crisp fried dough.Service:Amazing, very engaging and friendly. Top 3Final thoughts:A must visit when in town and looking for a nice meal with accommodating service.

I love the ambience of the restaurant. We’re sitting next to a window, which is one notch up to our experience. The waitress is moderately enthusiastic and helpful. The food is tasty.
