EXCELLENT as always. Meals were delicious and our server, Jeremy, was personable, knowledgeable and professional. Perfect dining ambience. A very nice evening out. I highly recommend Mark's Prime for special occasions, or a pleasant evening out!

We have celebrated our May anniversary here for many years. This dinner was day after Valentine's and an early birthday celebration for my wife. We always share the Lobster Escargot, perfect for two as an appetizer. We ordered bottle of Jordan Chardonnay (we stock Jordan Cabernet at home) as an accompaniment. My wife had her favorite sea scallops beautifully caramelized top and bottom with a silky translucent center. I had a pair of lamb chops that were as tender melted in your mouth as Mark's fillet mignon. We shared Lyonnaise potatoes and Brussels sprouts broiled with bacon bits. Our server brought a complementary cheese cake for my wife complete with a little candle! I stole a couple bites to enjoy with my coffee. Our server was attentive, professional, and comfortably in tune with our visit. She made our evening even more enjoyable than usual. We drive an hour to get to Mark's in Gainesville. It's always worth the trip and we have always enjoyed our meals there.

Second visit to this location. First was several years ago and we were very impressed. We went again last night 2/10/24, and not pleased.. I had petite filet which was overcooked, my husband had bone in ribeye which was very fatty with no flavor at all... this is absurd for a $60 steak. We can do better on our own with publix steaks. This was our Valentine's dinner and for a $300 bill we were quite disappointed!!! The prices are no longer reflective of the quality of dining!

Mark's has always been our go to place for celebrations. You can generally count on amazing food and terrific service. Our Valentines Day experience was disappointing. Mark's always gives a rose to the ladies on Valentines day. This year the roses were entirely wilted and the thorns had not been removed. We didn't bother to take it home. Who wants a dead rose? The food service was simply unacceptable. It took an hour to get our food. Our server was very attentive and he was very apologetic about the wait. Our bill was $129 and we had no alcohol. We will look for alternatives in the future.

Normally a great place , but last night was not good at all! Appetizers were overcooked , Steak ( ordered medium ) was very dry like it was cooked in oven too long ( had that taste ). just overall not a great night at Mark's Prime Steakhouse. And no I didn't bring it up or send the food back , to many horror stories about what they do to those ppl , we ate a little , boxed up the rest and left.

My son and I decided to try Mark's Prime while visiting Gainesville and we were not disappointed. My son got the lamb chops and I got a filet, both were cooked to perfection and the lemon pepper risotto was one of the best risottos I ever had. Our server Alex was extremely attentive and made our first time memorable and enjoyable. We will be back.

Great service paired with great food, add a smooth and relaxing atmosphere equals an evening at Mark's Prime Steakhouse! This Gainesville, FL gem is a must experience for anyone who fancies a traditional southern Steakhouse experience. The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable. The food is expertly prepared and full flavor. Mark's Prime Steakhouse is for sure a five star experience!
My wife and I have dined at Mark's in Gainesville several times; however, last night (02/03/2024) did not live up to expectations. I'm not sure what happened, or where the fault lies, but we received terrible service and food last night. We had reservations for 7:15 pm and arrived at about 7:10 pm. We were seated quickly and ordered, but did not receive our food until a little over an hour after ordering. When we did recieve our food, both steaks were overcooked - well done. In the past, we've always received rare to medium-rare, which is perfectly acceptable. Well done is just a waste of a steak and you might as well go to a chain restaurant at that point - it would be far less expensive. My suspicion is they were left on the plates too long before being brought to our table. If you are unfamiliar with Mark's, the plates are typically very hot, and can cook the steak themselves. We showed the server, Alexander, who agreed they were overcooked but offered no recourse and also offered no refills. It was very disappointing considering the price and past quality. Mistakes happen, and when they do, should be corrected; unfortunately - they were not.

Service was great. Nice bar area and great hostess. Server was observant and not rushed to make sure we had an excellent experience. Food was really great and steak came out on a scalding hot plate which gave the steak a nice temp that was perfect. Drinks, wine recommendations and dessert wrapped up the evening. I'd easily go back again.

Our second visit and the food is always incredible. No complaints. However, our appetizers ran into a “snafoo” in the kitchen. The manager came out to inform us but didn’t offer anything to make up for the excessive delay. Other groups, whom were seated after us, received their appetizers well before us. The Bourbon menu was lacking…we tried ordering 3 different bourbons for my father’s retirement celebration and they were out of them. The drink menu should certainly be adjusted. Hands down the best food in town but definitely disappointed in the service this time around.

Incredible food but the service was lacking. For $100+ per person, the service should be much better. The kitchen had a “snafoo” with our appetizers and the when the manager notified us, he didn't even offer anything to make up for the lengthy delay.
