I have driven past this place for more than 40 years and only recently checked it out! Now I wish I had come much sooner. I love the vintage ambience; the place has never changed in decades. If you require updated atmosphere, Peking House isn't for you, but if you want to absorb a lot of nostalgia with your meal, you will enjoy the environs. The food was excellent, portions enormous (I had sweet and sour chicken and had to take half of it home), and the egg rolls are the best I have ever had anywhere. We will return!!

I went to eat here couple days ago with my two coworkers and we were waiting to go back to work so I decided to call my clinic while we were waiting we had already finished eating and I paid and left the receipt on top of the table, while we were walking outside into the parking lot i felt someone grabbed my arm and Im on the phone talking to my clinic, when I look it was the waitress (I don’t know her hame but its the waitress that speaks spanish) of the restaurant arguing with me because I didn’t leave her a tip, this is so unprofessional to chase and interrupt a customer that is on an important phone call in the parking lot of the restaurant because I didn’t leave her a tip, I was leaving to go to work and on an important phone call and she just ran outside to grab my arm and argue with me because I didn’t leave a her a tip. So if anyone is planning on eating here be careful because the waitress will run after you in the parking lot and argue with you.

Ladies and gentlemen I've been in Florida for almost 50 years and today I found my Lakeland and possibly best ever "Chinese" food restaurant. 1st time visit, I was immediately struck by the decor! It was clean, large, service was impeccable and attentive, food was delivered piping hot, and fresh, with very generous serving size. We enjoyed orange, and Mongolian chicken, egg rolls that were crispy, and delicious, pork and chicken fried rice, which was arguably the best I've ever had. Next time I go, I'm gonna ask them to turn me on to the best they have to offer. Strongly recommended! Thank you to the gentlemen greeter, our server for her care, the wonderful cashier (maybe the boss), and the chef who made us dance in our seats enjoying a great meal!Parking: We parked along the back. Street was busy, right next to Publix in the Edward Scissorhands Lakeland Shopping plaza

The Bourbon chicken is delicious, and so is the Mongolian beef. One of the better Chinese places to eat at or just get the food to go.

I had the broccoli beef and vegetable plate for my meal but started off with the egg drop soup.Great taste.
Made us sick !!! We havent had chinese in a while and had eaten here years ago and it was not bad.. We are both from New York so we know what quality chinese food is . Saw alot of good reviews on the polk page and since we were in Lakeland .. and starving we went to peking house again. I will comment on 2 items we both were very angry about .. Friend rice was DRY white rice overly laden with soy sauce and between the 2 of us only one piece of scrambled egg.. there was no oil or oinion or anything added it was like old white rice with too much soy. But what made us sick was the egg rolls .. I have eaten hundreds in my life all over the country and was craving them so much i ordered and extra one with my combo . . when i broke it open .. the smell was like a dumpster on a hot day .. the insides were mush the only thing recognizable was a soggy chunk of carrot .. the smell i literally let out " omg what was that smell " when i opened it thinking something bad had happened not the greasy overcooked egg roll . The smell was BAD but i gave it a shot and took a bite it tasted rotted i pulled out all of the filling ( never in my life had i done this) and just bit into the crunchy end with duck sauce i had to ask and wait for .. i chewed for a moment and felt like gagging it was indeed rotten .. i called the waiter and told the young man i didnt want the second one which was untouched in a bowl. he quickly snatched the other one up in his fingers and took it back to the kitchen. we werent charged for the second one . My friend ate some of hers and we both felt very sick afterwards and we almost vomited shortly after. I am telling you the egg rolls were old and bad,. I will NEVER go back . i see so many good reviews .. Do they not understand what Good Chinese food is ? this place is Not doing anything to update .. the bathroom looks like a third world company and the food is not good .. and in this case dangerous .. NO mistake . If they give you Bad food what else are they skimping on ? Never again from us. I hope they read this and do better and never endanger someones health i hope the health dept checks them as well .
