Lovely wait staff. Eclectic atmosphere. EXCELLENT food. Beautifully prepared!
What a nice find. Thank you fellow Yelpers! On our drive to St Augustine we hadn’t eaten and decided to take a like detour for some grub. Since I was driving I can’t take the credit for finding it anywho :PMy fiancé read some of the menu options and we were intrigued. Upon arriving we noticed some specials on the board and the soup of the day is what caught his eye and my mother in loves. Plantain and bacon soup. So he ordered a bowl (I mean he has to share it with me) and his mom ordered a cup. We also ordered the tostones de cerdo,, chicken skewers, 4 conch fritters and my mother in love ordered the pulled pork bowl but opted for the snapper instead of pulled pork with rice and beans and maduros with a cilantro sauce. I almost forgot our drinks we had a pineapple mojito, regular mojito, espresso martini and I had 2 new new fashioned. My favorite was my drink it was a twist on old fashioned with muddled strawberries and lemon. My fiancé wasn’t crazy about his pineapple mojito (no buzz) but enjoyed the espresso martini much more. The chicken skewers were tasty, conch fritters were good (my mother in law thought to salty) the pork tostones were delish and the snapper bowl was ok. The beans were the best part of that meal.
Allie was an awesome server, very friendly and knowledgeable about adult beverages and food options. We had a great time. Food was great!
Was in the mood for a cuban sandwich like you get in Miami and this was not it. It wasn't bad, just not great. The fries, on the other hand were really good. The place inside is really nice looking and the food came out pretty fast. The wait staff was really attentive as well.
Excellent customer service!!! The food is delicious!!! You can't go wrong with the Cuban!
Alyssa, Tyler & Chris are amazing; just actually as amazing as Lobster Fest! All services matched the dishes; it’s absolutely delicious. We sat at the bar and received top notch service and the most pleasant greeting. I normally order the Snapper Hemingway, but had to indulge in the Lobster Fest special menu items. Did not disappoint.
First time eating there with my husband. This place was absolutely amazing. Our servers Veronica and Cynnamon were awesome and lovable waitresses. From the time we walked in greeted and seated in time. They were knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations. My husband and I shared the lobster and bacon mac n cheese. I ate the Bahamian sandwich and my husband got the snapper dinner. All were incredibly delicious ?. All in all. I would recommend this ravern.
I finally decided to try Hemingway's, because several of my friends have raved about it. I can see why they do. My lunch experience was excellent. I started with the red sangria. It was delicious but packs a punch, most likely from the peach vodka. The French Mediterranean Connection salad looked like it would be a good choice, and it was. Along with the usual salad greens, this one also contains olives, roasted red bliss potatoes, green beans, zucchini, yellow squash and fried garbanzo beans. I ended with the Sweet Plantain Bread Pudding--a perfect ending to the meal. There is a lot of covered outdoor seating, and that's where I ate. One thing I like about Hemingway's is that the restaurant opens at 10 am on the weekends. (The walk-up window, with a more limited menu, opens at 9 on the weekends, earlier during the week.) I eat at strange hours, so I was able to get a very early lunch here. My servers (Mike and trainee Marie) were great--prompt, friendly, and professional. Mike gave me advice when I was trying to decide on a dessert. I don't know why it's taken me so long to go to Hemingway's, but I'm already planning on going back next Saturday.
Every entree we have had has been awesome! Sweet Plantain Bread pudding is next level.
I love everything about this place. The food is top notch, nice relaxing atmosphere, and great service. Our server Mary in particular treats us like family and is always on point.
We were seated quickly. The hostess was very friendly. Our server was Allie. She was very quick and friendly as well. She got our drinks and appetizer out right away. Once we ordered, she had great recommendations and knowledge of the menu. I had the Caribbean yard bird sandwich and my husband got the tacos. We also had the truffle fries. It was all delicious. We ended with the guava cheesecake. We left full, satisfied and happy. Excellent service and next time we’re in town we will be back!
THIS PLACE IS BEYOND DELICIOUS!!! So my best friend and I were looking for a place to grab some lunch and we had stumbled across this restaurant, so of course we thought "hey, let's try it" and boy,am I glad I did. I got the premiere burger with truffle fries and he got the hangover burger with regular fries. this was the BEST damn burger I've ever had in my life! Our server lexey was absolutely amazing as well, very attentive and friendly! If you haven't eaten here, you need to. This place is mind blowing. If I could give a higher rating I would!
Just one word describes our visit "PERFECT"Easily accessible from the main road Hibiscus Blvd. There is plenty of free parking including for handicap accessible vehicles. The restaurant was clean and well staffed with super friendly employees who were adhering to COVID GUIDELINES as required. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Restrooms were available and clean. Our Waitress Maegen L was Spectacular! Super attentive! Our order Drinks and Food were done perfectly and were ample. The menu has something for everyone and the prices in our opinion are very fair. They also offer Coffee and Pastries in the morning.Andrew who was overseeing the floor stopped by to check on us which we thought was a nice touch.
Excellent time. Came here finally after moving to Melbourne almost a year ago, wish we didn't wait so long. Had an excellent lunch with a great waitress (Melissa). Can't wait to come back and try even more delicious food and drinks
First time experience long time resident. I already regret the missed experiences but look forward to many more to come. We did a brunch birthday for seven and everyone was satisfied from 7 to 60. The food is excellent and we focused on the brunch menu but when I walked out I realized I was going to start off with something else! Doh!! Super staff, extremely efficient operation. No idle staff or superfluous conversations in the corner distracting from the guests. I would Highly recommend Hemingways and then try their sisters Meg O’Malley’s and Long Doggers. There is something for everyone and We support local businesses as a rule but not if the service is bad. So what are you waiting for!
