Unfortunately Matt's has closed its doors. The good news is an outstanding local restaurant owner has purchased the property and plans to re-vamp the property and open in the Spring. Looking forward to watch this progression and adding a new dining experience to downtown Melbourne.

This was our first time visiting Matt's. I wonder why it took so long to find this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed. The hostess, servicer and manager were so friendly. I enjoyed the Sushi. The fish special was so delicious . The manager even took time to show around the rest of the restaurant. We will be back.

Food was delicious! Everything is made from scratch, including their miso soup. We will be back for some fish and chips!

This place is amazing. Indoor and outdoor seating with live music outside on the night we went. Their menu has a wide variety of foods of high quality. The burgers that my wife and I got were AMAZING. Would definitely recommend anyone coming downtown to eat here and possibly stay for some drinks as well

Matt’s CasbahFun and Lively Atmosphere, Friendly Service, Hit or Miss FoodDate of Visit 7-15-2022Being local my wife and I have been by Matt’s Casbah multiple times but have not eaten there in many, many years (not since it was Pop’s Casbah). There always seems to be decent crowd with lots of smiles, laughing and live music on the weekend evenings. As usual, when we arrived it was already busy at 5pm. We were unable to find a handicapped parking spot, or any parking spot nearby, however, the parking attendant was kind enough to allow us to park in their valet lot.The wait staff was very friendly and who I assume was a manager was merrily frequenting tables assisting guests, chatting and making their children laugh. The décor is somewhat eclectic and fun and the music from the live band on the front patio fills the restaurant for a very cheerful and relaxing atmosphere. Our waiter, Bobby was upbeat and friendly. He explained the daily specials, one of which was their “daily” gourmet burger, and pointed out entrées that may be to our liking based on our protein preferences, and assured us they had the best Sushi in town. Our appetizer of chicken wings came out with perfectly crispy (naked as requested) skin and juicy moist meat on the inside. There were only 3 wings, however, they were the full wings with the drumstick and flat together and they were exceptionally large wings. The sauces were very limited to a couple of bbq variations and buffalo. They were very tasty without any dip sauce. My wife’s Bisteka was cooked perfectly to medium rare and was tender, juicy, tasty, and she enjoyed it very much. Regrettably the menu did not mention the entrée came with a pile of some type of potato and since we do not eat starches it was waisted instead of substituted for a vegetable. My son’s crunchy sushi roll came out soggy from the runny mayo in the krab (surimi imitation crab) salad that smothered the top of it. Also, nowhere on the menu could we find where it said it was a spicy roll, however, it was too spicey for him to finish it.Unfortunately, not being asked, I forgot to tell Bobby what temperature I preferred for my burger. After some time, I did catch his attention and he gladly ran back the kitchen to inform them of my medium rare preference. My gourmet burger came beautifully plated on a cutting board along with a salad of spring mix and cherry tomatoes (which they happily substituted for me I.L.O. fried onion rings), sans bun as requested; that is where the “gourmet” ended. The gourmet burger of the day was an 8 oz grass fed beef patty with an 8 on salmon patty on top. To my surprise there was not one single thing on the twin patties: no special sauce, no condiments, no sautéed anything, just a somewhat dry salmon cake and a medium well beef patty. The beef patty did have a nice flavor and there was still some juice left despite the barely pink inside, which again, was my fault for not pointing out my temperature preference sooner. The salad was fresh, however being plated on the warm dry cutting board, the salad was also warm and dry.Despite the food being 50/50 we still had a nice evening. What would have made this a 4 or 5 star review? An accurate menu. This would have allowed the substitution of the potato substance and the avoidance of the spicey sushi roll. Two entrées, one sushi roll, one appetizer and waters came to $84.53 with tax, plus tip. We felt the sushi was priced higher than most Japanese/Thai sushi restaurants we frequent.

My family and I visited several restaurants between Melbourne and Viera while vacationing and this place was by far THE BEST in food taste, quality, cleanliness and service! We even ate here twice in one week which is something we never do on vacation. I highly recommend to others.

Matt's Casbah is always terrific, in fact, we drive from Fort Lauderdale just to have a late lunch or early dinner at Matt's. A few weeks ago we even drove up on a Monday not knowing Matt's was closed ??? The fish is always fresh and delicious, the burgers and the rest of the menu are creative, the service on point, entertainment- well, very entertaining. The cocktails, the beer, the owner, the overall atmosphere make Matt's a terrific experience!

Been wanting to try this place for months and finally came back into town to do that and it was worth the wait. Very cool building, excellent food and our server was great.

This is usually one of my favorite places when I'm in town on business but I haven't been here in the last three years. I was very disappointed when I took my family with me this time. The waiter kept disappearing for long periods of time because they were very understaffed but we wouldn't see him for 20 minutes at a time. Other servers took pity on us and eventually tried to step in to help but everything took forever, even trying to pay the bill we could see one of our appetizers sitting 2 feet from us for a long time before someone else grabbed it for us. The food was still good but not as special as I had remembered from my last visits. There are so many other great restaurant choices so I will probably not return for quite some time.

I made a reservation and we were seated right away. The hostess was great. Waited over 10 minutes before our server came to the table. By the time we got our drinks the table next to us who sat after us already had drinks and appetizers. Server was nice but was not good at serving. Constantly forgot things we asked for, had an attitude when we asked for the things she forgot. This is not normal for Matt's Casbah. Which makes this experience even more disappointing since I brought friends here to experience this place for their first time. We were all very disappointed.

This place is huge, sat inside because of the heat. GF had an amazing burger, I had a tuna flight.
