“JD is a funky retro diner where it seems many are regular customers. Today was our first time. We went for breakfast. It can get a bit noisy inside when full and customers have their caffeine kicking in. There is seating outside, weather permitting. Emily was our friendly, attentive server. We had a Natural/Veggie Omlette and Cheese Blintzes with two eggs, and of course tea and coffee. A lot of tasty food at reasonable prices. That is why JD is so popular.“

Get there early for dinner, especially on Friday nights. The fish is outstanding. Lunch is busy, but not as busy as breakfast and dinner. I have never had a bad meal at Mel's. If you're looking for a chocolate milkshake, Mel's has the old-fashioned milkshake for you. If you want a bloody Mary with your breakfast, Mel's has it. The portions are large, and take-home is always available.“
“We came in late on a Sunday afternoon. We wanted to people watch and enjoy coffee. We much prefer to support independent businesses when at all possible. There were two gentlemen working, both greeted us promptly. We ordered specialty coffee drinks, a cappuccino and a macchiato. When the macchiato came out the gentleman asked our macchiato isn’t like most coffee stores, it’s a shot of espresso and foam only. They both offered to make a new drink with a smile on their faces and we profusely apologized and exuded kindness through and through. They said you didn’t know and I should’ve told you beforehand. Exceptional service and there awesome and upbeat attitude earned your business a customer for life, we’re locals and will be back. Thank you!“
