If you want to eat good Puerto Rican food, with authentic flavor, you are in the right place. The restaurant is very nice and they serve with excellence.

Rice & Beans Cocina I had the chance to dine at Rice & Beans Cocina Latina before it transformed into Tradicion Latina. The restaurant had its charm, and the name itself evoked images of flavorful Latin American cuisine. However, my recent visit left me with mixed feelings. The Good:Friendly Staff: The person attending to us was warm and welcoming. Their friendly demeanor added a positive touch to the dining experience.Cuban Classics: Rice & Beans Cocina Latina used to serve classic Latin dishes like arroz con pollo, tostones, and empanadas. These were generally well-prepared and satisfying. The Not-So-Good:Dry Food: Unfortunately, the food often appeared dry. Whether it was the rice or the meats, there was a lack of moisture that affected the overall taste.Salty Pulled Pork: The pulled pork, a staple in many Latin dishes, was on the salty side. It left me reaching for my water glass more than I’d like.Lack of Spark: The restaurant seemed to have lost its spark. Perhaps it was the transition to Tradicion Latina, but the vibrancy and excitement were missing.Concerns:High Salt Content: You’re right; many Hispanic dishes tend to be salty. While this adds flavor, it can indeed contribute to high blood pressure. Moderation is key.Diminished Foot Traffic: On a Friday night, the place felt eerily quiet. The unlit sign outside didn’t help matters. I worry that the new owners might struggle to revive the restaurant’s former glory. In summary, looking for a wonderful experience, Tradicion Latina came a bit short. If they can strike the right balance between flavor and ambiance, they might just win over the neighborhood .

As someone who has never been here before, my experience here was awesome. From the moment I walked in the staff was warm and welcoming with smiles. I’m not familiar with this type of cuisine, so I needed a little help. Staff went above and beyond to help me order the perfect meal. I tried the mofongo and pork belly and it’s to die for. The chef came out to speak with a costumer and he was also super friendly and welcoming. Overall excellent experience. Thank you for being so welcoming to newbs :) I wish I lived closer, so when I’m traveling through again I’ll definitely be back.

After having been a loyal customer for 10+ years, I was extremely disappointed to learn they are under new ownership and have changed their Tuesday special (2 meals for $16) to having a cut-off at 3pm with no explanation.Seeing that a vast majority of people are not out of work by then, it's a shame the new ownership is not honoring a long-time tradition. The quality of the food also seems to have changed. The rice looks quite dry, and some of their normal menu items were not there anymore.Overall, I am very disappointed after heading in today. Hoping new leadership will bring back what they took away soon.

Love it here. Food is more than enough, attention is great from the moment you step foot inside.I highly recommend the roasted Cuban pork shoulder, the Cuban tamales and the gandules rice. Also the breaded chicken breast is a must in Rice and beans.Finish up with a Cuban cortadito ☕️ and you’ll be all set for the day.

Just ordered from ubereats ropa Viejas was a block of salt and a bunch of pieces of grease fatty tissue so clearly the meat was not cut or cleaned well. The only good thing was the white rice. Beans were pure water with color. Yuca was okd dry and difficult to chew. I could tell some mojo was thrown on top of it and it didn't do it justice. That yuca was too dry and old. Unfortunate, never again. Should've ordered somewhere else.

This place has so much potential . However , they don’t have it quite together here . The cook so far ( I gauge by empanadas ) nailed it on flavor , moisture and texture . It was identical as home made . Excited to try more .Cons: no menu depicting everything they offer . They have a sheet for the lunch and some dishes but not all . So i had to ask and guess if there was more . ( which there was )Don’t expect a smile . They are alert and pay attention to your request . So that is good. A little warmth and perhaps attention to advertising . They will flourish .Did go back to taste a tiramisu dessert but they didn’t seem to carry it any longer . ( no menu so I went by google pics lol )

I never got around to reviewing this place years ago when I should have, but all I have to say is, BEWARE! After eating whatever basic chicken, beans and rice plate I ordered for lunch while I was at work, about four hours later I started throwing up repeatedly (obviously, I had to go home, which was 45 minutes away--and I had to pull over 4 times to throw up more) and also started having diarrhea later on. I've never had food poisoning before that or since then, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. The food did have a slightly off taste, but I chose to ignore it because I was hungry and never got sick from eating anything before. I didn't eat anything before that meal, either. I had a term paper due the next day for a class so I ended up having to have my friend take me to the HOSPITAL so they could put an IV in me and rehydrate me. I never went back after that!

Their pork is OUTRAGEOUSLY delicious. Their hot sauce is homemade and I’m drooling just thinking about it. I like the rice and beans that are greyish. So yummy. The plantains are incredible. Don’t miss this place.Parking: Easy to find parking in front
