My mom and I are Hungarian, my boyfriend is American and we celebrated my mom's birthday at Tokaj. The food was very phenomenal, authentic and good for all taste buds. The atmosphere was very intimate and cozy! They even had a live violinist playing really nice romantic songs which we loved. Staff was super nice and friendly. The absolute best meal in Sarasota. Tons of savory flavors. The baby kale salad with chickpeas was a huge surprise. Warm creamy juxtaposed with cool & crispy. It had me at the first bite. We had the pork with goose liver and the stuffed cabbage. The Hungarian stuffed cabbage brings a traditional meal to a surreal experience. In a rich divine sauce.Go,go go & and enjoy a meal by a real artist in the kitchen.

We wanted to try something new and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant provides traditional Hungarian cuisine made with fresh ingredients and served by a knowledgeable professional staff. The Hungarian wine selection, live music and excellent desserts just added to the whole experience.
